I wouldn't call her stupid, but she definitely has a different preference than I have. I find it uncomfortable to have even a few extra pounds on.

I don't know about that. Seems like I hear about this amoeba every summer in the news. So the news is not exactly new either. But yeah, "rare infection" would seem like more accurate reporting.

Tennessee Sour Mash Stout sounds kinda cool, but I guess you wouldn't want to use that unless you're using a sour mash process. Or maybe Lynchburg Stout, or Gentleman Stout???

Nah, not lying. I was pretty infatuated with someone else (a non-jumper) when I started jumping, so I wasn't thinking of anyone at the dz in that way. Also, my tandem instructor's girlfriend was my AFF instructor, so....

You should try some of the stuff not spelled with an "e" in it. If you think I haven't, then you obviously don't know me very well.

As if beer doesn't taste bad enough already, now you want to make it taste like whiskey. Yum.

Violence in moderation? Does that mean stabbing just one person a day?
-
Funny, that. Maybe next year... I'm sure I could come up with a good costume for you.
-
I shudder to think what sort of costume you would come up with. Did you go?

Yeah, I liked #44. The robot thing is pretty cool. Actually, they're all pretty cool.

Hmm, yes.... The only way to stop drinking that has a 100% success rate.

The deceased viewed them as equal threats. That's how I saw it. And, I thought it was funny, as in ha, ha. I thought it was funny too. Geez, people, lighten up.

I saw it in San Diego a couple of years ago. Loved it, lots of fun.

Actually, I do, but mine is named Tom. And he's only sadistic in a charming sort of way. Edit: Oh, and for some reason they took my guns away when I told my doctor about him.

One's disbelief in something has no effect on its reality. Either it is real or it is not regardless of what one believes. You may not believe what the Bible says, however, either you or God is lying in this regard and the Bible says that God cannot lie. It would be against his very nature. So where does that leave us? That leaves us right where we started. Me not believing that the Bible is the "word of God" (seeing as I don't believe in a god), and you believing the opposite. Probably not much point in continuing the discussion.

The one in Pigeon Forge was around in the early 80's. And I hooked up with one of my kayaks on Craigslist, but no humans. I've met several people through other areas of the intertubes though.

Hmm.... Yes, it makes perfect sense to use Bible quotes to try to prove something to an atheist.

Why is God considered "vicious" in exacting due punishment for the crimes against His nature that we have committed? Here, I bolded the part that explains why I called it vicious.

People mix alcohol and ecstasy all the time, and relatively few die or even end up in the hospital from it. I'm not condoning it; it is risky, but it's no more "suicide" than skydiving is. However, it does sound like she was mixing a lot of drugs, and using heavily, and I would agree that that is basically suicide. I had never heard of her until she started making news because of her problems. But I was blown away when I finally heard her music. Such an amazing voice.

This sounds like a whuffo commenting on a skydiving fatality. "Anyone foolish enough to jump out of a plane deserves what they get." Though I'll bet skydiving has a much higher fatality rate than designer drug use does. And the heavy drinking is generally more dangerous than ecstasy use. Well, except that with illegal drugs you run more of a risk of getting unpure substances. Anyhow, I do have sympathy for anyone who is so addicted to alcohol and other drugs that they keep using even though they know they are killing themselves.

Apparently she went to rehab several times. But treatment for drug addiction still has little efficacy, so it's not surprising that it didn't work for her. It's not exactly like breaking your leg and going to the doctor to get it fixed.

You know, I try to live a good life, try to help others when I can, try not to hurt others. If there turns out to be some vicious god who created me with a brain that isn't wired to believe in him, who then punishes me eternally for not believing in him, then so be it. But I see no reason to believe that that is the case, so I'm not worried about it.
-
Hey, if that works for you, then it works for you. Can't argue with that.

I see that as evidence that belief in a god can help to change some people's lives. But it is not evidence that a god actually exists. What do you believe in? Have you exercised your belief in circumstances where you have reached beyond your grasp or, in circumstances where evil is about to overwhelm you? I believe in a lot of things, none of which really replace the "god" idea. But then it's not an either/or situation. We can reject a seemingly false idea without having to have something to replace it. Much of life is a mystery to me. I can wish I had all the answers, but I don't have them. I can pretend to believe in a god, but I don't believe. And I don't think pretending would have the same effect as actually believing.
