  1. From Dusk Till Dawn or Pulp Fiction... Cecil B. Demented is pretty good too...
  2. Yep, I bought tons of it while staying in England one summer (but didn't manage to make it back to the US with much of it ). I can't remember where we bought it (this was almost 10 years ago), but I know it wasn't in the grocery stores or convenient stores - think it might have been from a candy shop or something like that. At the time it wasn't available in the US, but now you can buy it here.
  3. Milka bars are what I made myself sick on while in England, but I had plenty of Cadbury stuff too (loved the Cadbury vending machines at all the train stops!)
  4. Hmmm, someone is strokin' himself here... er, I mean tootin' his own horn. But you do deserve it... Nice job! Edited to say: Now who the hell is voting that they would rather clean the oven than look at this website???
  5. Yeah, he was shakin' his arse pretty good too during one of his songs.
  6. "Don't Stand So Close To Me" That song always reminds me of the hot teacher I had a crush on when I was 17. But seriously, I watched the show last night too and thought it was pretty cool. Loved all the wings and the flying chick at the beginning and end (though not enough of that).
  7. Yeah, I like Emily (Sorry, Laurel - not hijacking the thread! ;-)
  8. Nah, I'm WAY more picky about my men than I am about my coffee!
  9. I guess it's possible to have a serious interest in skydiving without actually wanting to do it yourself, or maybe without having the means to do it. And look at football - there are tons of people who like to talk about football who don't actually play it. Ok, I guess football's a little different, but I can see that skydiving could quite easily turn into a spectator sport as well (and I would think it would be way more interesting to watch than football! IMHO)...
  10. Well I'm afraid to say... I do actually like that show. I've only seen it a couple of times, and I don't usually like makeover-type shows, but I do find it entertaining to watch... and I certainly wouldn't mind for them to come over and decorate my place for me. Oh, and if I was ever to let anyone give me a makeover (I could probably use one!), I think it would have to be them. Those guys ARE pretty funny!
  11. Well I prefer yummy good coffee, but since I am extremely lazy I usually drink instant coffee. Of course, I put vanilla or hazelnut CoffeeMate in it, so it doesn't taste THAT bad. Now when I have guests over or am not feeling as lazy as usual, I'll make gourmet coffee in the french press - that does taste much better.
  12. Very bad things happen if I don't get my morning coffee.
  13. That would be cool... Well you just taught me something because I didn't know a monitor was a type of lizard (shows how much I know about lizards)! Ok well now I am reading about lizards instead of working, so I better save the monitors for later!
  14. Wow! You have a monitor on your gear??? (sorry, I couldn't resist ;-)
  15. Ummm, that would be "Other" Looks like I left out a few options - oops. I had a feeling that would be the case... but I was just wanting to get a general idea. Thanks for the replies, everybody....
  16. Just trying to get an idea of what the most common screen resolution is. According to w3schools.com, 1024x768 was the most common as of July '03. Just curious how that compares to what dz.commers are using... (mine is currently 1280x1024 if anyone wants to know ;-) Edited to say: Multiple answers are allowed for those of you with more than one computer (or for those with multiple personalities who often change their resolution)!
  17. So is there any actual purpose to this thread other than to sling a bunch of BS around? I'm having trouble understanding why an Irish girl in California is even bothering to THINK about Texas, let alone BITCH about it... It started out slightly amusing, but now it's just getting pathetic. Get over it, Sue.
  18. YES! You should definitely tell your family and anyone else who cares about you. Can you imagine what it would be like for them if they had to find out because someone called to tell them you were dead or seriously injured??? To not tell them would be irresponsible on your part, towards them and towards the people you jump with. Think about it - if you don't have the balls to face your loved ones and tell them you are BASE jumping, then should you really be BASE jumping at all??? Moms are gonna worry no matter what you do, but I'll bet she would rather know what you are doing than find out later that you were keeping something from her...
  19. Umm, if you don't like SXSW then why did you go there more than once? Just curious, Sue, but what is your sudden beef with Texas? (Or are you just having a fun time wearing the troll hat, knowing how defensive Texans will get if you insult their state? ) Having lived in both TX and CA, I'd say they both have their good and bad points - neither is really better or worse (though damn I miss that Texas barbecue!)... And the whole "my state is better than your state" seems pretty highschool-ish to me anyway. (Or is that exactly what the troll was going for? )
  20. Please specify which part of CA ... I visited area near Travis AFB & was not only hugely disappointed when the clubs stopped serving at midnight but about pooped my pants when I tried to buy beer at convience store & the clerk said they couldn't after 2400hrs ... Ah, maybe the cutoff time is midnight (I'm in Southern CA, near Perris)... I've been trying to find out the liquor rules ever since I moved here, but no one seems to know. So far I've never been told I couldn't buy liquor (in the 2 1/2 years I've been here), but I'm pretty sure I've never tried after midnight. Actually, most stores out here close at midnight anyway. I believe most clubs stay open and serve alcohol til 2AM though... I guess it just seems like 24/7 to me, having moved here from Texas where you can only buy liquor until 9PM and then not at all on Sundays (but strangely enough you can drink til 2AM in a bar any night of the week). Ok, so you can't buy liquor 24/7 in CA, but it's much easier to be an alcoholic here than it is in TX. Oh wait, maybe that's not a good thing...
  21. Mmm, barbecue... that's one of the things I miss the most from Texas. The only good barbecue here in CA is the barbecue chicken pizza from Round Table. Right now I could sure go for a big plate of brisket from the Green Mesquite or County Line or Artz Ribhouse or Iron Works...
  22. Yummy, now I'm craving cinnamon rolls! You're quite the domesticated one, aren't you? You will make someone a good wife someday.
