  1. I dunno, but somethin's been smellin' kinda funny...
  2. Ok, next time I'm in S.A... Whoa, Sunshine's avatar changed! Does that have something to do with all this talk about circumcision?
  3. Oh well, do it your way then...
  4. Or better yet, have someone take a picture and post it in Talk Back as a poll for all of us to vote on whether or not it looks like D.V.
  5. No, you're probably just not looking at it from the right direction. Sorry, turtlespeed...
  6. Would it make me a better person or at least amuse me if I knew why?
  7. Oops, sorry - I did do a search on here but didn't find it (probably didn't use the right words). I was surprised to find it on the web because I was not looking for BASE jumping stuff, but for 360 pano stuff because that is a hobby of mine (though I haven't had the chance to shoot pictures of such interesting subjects as this yet). I posted this with respect for Dwain, but if it appears any other way please remove my post. Yes, rest in peace, Dwain.
  8. Those thingies have always reminded me of Darth Vader.
  9. Just wanted to say I'm very sorry to hear about the fire! If I could donate I would, but I am out of work myself at the moment so I can't... and I'd offer to loan my gear, but I don't think it would be of much use (Micron made for 5'3", 100 lbs., Triathlon 120 & Tempo 120, no Cypres - let me know if it would be of use)... The only thing I can offer is that I live 15 miles away, so if there is any need of physical help in cleaning up I'd be more than happy to lend a hand (feel free to PM me if you do need help)... Anyhow, I hope everything works out for you guys, and it is really great to see the support from the whole skydiving community! Good luck with everything! And I'm so glad to hear that no one was injured!
  10. I already mentioned this in TalkBack (thread here), but since it's BASE-related and kinda cool, I thought I'd post it here too: http://www.escalade.com.au/highjinx/pano_malay.htm
  11. I think you can find out here: http://www.rodriguezbrothers.com/
  12. Hey, where is Sudsyfist anyway??? Haven't seen him in a while... Oh, and nice name for your car.
  13. Ha! I hadn't noticed the guy's hands or the looks on the spectators' faces, but now that ya'll mention it, they do look pretty serious. Wow, I also just found a way-cool pano of Dwain Weston jumping at Petronas: http://www.escalade.com.au/highjinx/pano_malay.htm and some other cool panos by the same dude: http://www.escalade.com.au/highjinx/panos.htm
  14. I've been getting into this panoramic photography stuff and just came across one that I thought some of you guys might like: http://www.mtritter.org/Shotover_bungee/
  15. NO!!! You can't move back! I've actually been able to hang out at the dz and stay (reasonably) out of trouble since you've been gone! But I guess I do miss you just a little bit. Sometimes staying out of trouble sucks.
  16. Maybe you should get your sister to ask the friend how she feels about it before setting you up together. If she doesn't have a problem with it then it might work, if she does have a problem then you shouldn't go out with her. But who am I to be giving relationship advice???
  17. Currently - Ike (1998 Ford Ranger) Before: Shelob (1981 Alfa Romeo Spider) (1986 Toyota MR2 with no name) Boris (1980 Fiat Spider - my favorite car ever) (1989 Chevy Beretta with no name) Peter (1986 Chevy Cavalier - my first car, called it Peter because it always "peter"ed out ;-)
  18. Hmm, not sure about that one... And not sure I understand exactly what you mean... Weren't you already working with an image with curved edges???
  19. If the image is in it's own layer, you can select that layer, then (from the top menu) click on "Layer", "Layer Style", "Stroke" which will bring up a dialogue box where you can adjust the border around the image. Does that help at all?
  20. Sorry, I usually don't point out such petty little things, but since I was quoting you...
  21. That's pretty much what I was thinking (except for the grammar error ).

    Lasix?

I had it done a little over a year ago. To be honest, I will not recommend it as enthusiasctically as some do because my vision is not as good as I had expected based on the high recommendations I got before doing it. (Could be that my vision was not as bad to begin with as some of those who I had gotten the recommendations from.) On the other hand, if I had it to do over again, I would probably still choose to do it. So basically I'm saying - if you do choose to have it done, be sure to have realistic expectations. For me, it corrected my far-away vision to almost perfect, but somewhat compromised my close-up vision - not to the point of needing glasses for it, but enough that it was very annoying for a long time. I think I have finally adjusted to it, but it seemed to take my eyes a full year to really start feeling "normal" and for me to stop squinting when I am reading. (I have wondered though, if the fact that I spend so much time in front of a computer slowed my healing process - probably so.) Oh, and I do still have a hard time driving at night because of the glare from lights - this seems to be a common problem for most people who have had this procedure. So from my personal experience, I would still recommend having it done - just (as everyone else has said) do a lot of research, make sure you can accept the things that may go wrong, make sure you are a good candidate for it, and have realistic expectations. It IS very nice to not need glasses or contacts anymore!
  23. I have been taking an extended break from skydiving.... Basically because a series of events, starting with my husband getting badly injured on a skydive and then a special friend killed on a BASE jump (who was also one of my favorite persons at the dz), followed by some other personal things, that left me feeling like I was forcing myself to jump every time I went to the dz and I didn't seem to be enjoying it so much. So I just decided to wait until I start feeling like I really want to jump again. Anyhow, my life has calmed down quite a bit lately, I am finally recovering from a month-long sinus infection that had me down, the weather has been rather nice lately, and the wind tunnel just opened at Perris... so it looks like I should be back in the air soon.

I think they're talking about the links in FunBobby's post - I can't open those either (says "Forbidden"). Your link works though...
