  1. So are you saying that women are too stupid to realize that nice things usually cost money?
  2. MMM, kittens.... Kittens are yummy, especially if you dip them in soy sauce and wasabi.
  3. Oh, fuck off! (Oops, was that a personal attack???)
  4. I always sneak a look in a man's wallet before I will date him... to make sure he uses the MAGNUM condoms.
  5. NOOOOO!!!! Stop that! You're making my head hurt even worse!
  6. Ok... that makes me want to vomit just thinking about it. And now I just remembered that I switched to Captain & Coke at some point... Ooh, and remembering that just makes my head hurt worse! Oh well, that's what I get for being Irish!
  7. That sucks, for you and Nightingale both... if you're gonna have a headache, it's much better if you can at least blame alcohol!
  8. I should have had the green beer... Jack Daniels is pounding me in the head this morning... And for some reason I have green stains on my hands - not sure what that is from!
  9. Wish I could go, but I'm not there... I've seen some of the best live music ever at SXSW. Even the local bands are always at their best for those shows. I've never actually bought one of the wristbands (so I couldn't tell you if they are worth the $), but there is so much to see even without one. Just going downtown is fun while SXSW is going on - lots of people from all over the world, and there are usually bands set up out in the streets that you can watch for free. Unfortunately, it's gotten SO big that it can sometimes be a hassle though... La Zona Rosa is probably a good place to go, or the Continental Club (my favorite Austin bar ;). The Continental usually has bands set up in the back alley as well as in the club, but the shows in the alley are free - they're especially nice during the daytime because you can just sit on the grassy hillside, sipping on a cold one. I haven't lived in Austin for a few years now though, so there are probably new venues that I don't even know about. You should check it out, especially if you've never been... And if you do, HAVE FUN!
  10. I am not a Christian, but hopefully you will not mind if I answer your questions too... 1. I knew I was not a Christian because I have never believed in God or in the Bible. 2. I was raised a Christian, in a mostly-Baptist family. Not the most devout Christians, but we usually went to church at least once a week. 3. I know it is the right choice for me because I have "faith" that there is no God or Higher Power (other than nature, and I guess you could say I "worship" nature by having respect for it, though I don't know if it really counts as a "higher power" since it is something tangible and we do have some control over it). That being said, I will say that I do think the atmosphere at most churches is a good thing. I enjoyed most of the time I spent at church, did a lot of fun activities and made lots of friends. Most of the people I met through church were really good people, and they were a positive, supportive community. I stopped going to church once I got older because I did not feel right about being part of a community whose main belief I did not share. It's now been about 18 years since I was a member of any church... However, in the past few years, I have really started to miss that atmosphere - the general wholesome gathering of people to create a positive vibe (without the use of drugs or alcohol ;-)... so I have been thinking of joining some sort of non-denominational church such as the Unitarian Universalists or the Church of Religious Science. In fact, last week I went to a drum circle held at the Church of R.S., and it was the exact environment I have been looking for.
  11. Oh... I thought this was gonna be a thread about condoms...
  12. I think (IMHO) that this is a great attitude.
  13. If you hang out with me then this is guaranteed to happen. I am a notorious bad influence.
  14. To me, spanking your kids is the same thing as beating your kids... and is therefore not an acceptable means of punishment. And I've never seen any evidence that children who get spanked behave any better than children who do not get spanked, so I see no excuse for this sort of punishment - it is simply physical abuse.
  15. no not really. Well, to me they make about the same amount of sense... which is no sense at all. But everyone is entitled to their opinion...
  16. Option II would probably be best... It wouldn't be too far out of the way for him to drive through Ontario on the way to Elsinore... Finding public transportation from LAX to Elsinore might be a bit tricky though - there is probably a bus, but I'm not sure...
  17. Makes about as much sense as protesting gay marriage...
  18. Can't sleep... But after seeing Lost in Translation, not being able to sleep seems kinda cool...
  19. I liked the part in Apocalypse Now where they were playing "The End" by the Doors (well it was disturbing anyway)... I often think of that when I'm staring at my ceiling fan...

    High/Low

You're not screwed (no more than the rest of us anyway )... You'll get it all figured out. (BTW, I'm taking a break from jumping at the moment too... Sometimes other things have to be taken care of first.) And yeah, being an adult does suck... sometimes.
  21. I'll join you... Me loves carbs! (MMM, fresh bread, pasta, potatoes)
  22. ROFL! Thanks, Bill. I needed that. (as I wipe the tears from my eyes...)
  23. Yeah, it's pretty Ghetto... but I make it with "veggie meat" instead of real meat so that makes it much more sophisticated.
