  1. Ah, I see now. You have no idea what you're talking about other than what your religion has told you. And, I honestly don't mean this to be offensive, but your narrow views are really making all of the "truth" and "love" stuff sound like BS.
  2. I am glad that you get that out of the Bible and that it works for you. But I do not believe in God, so of course I do not believe that the Bible is written by God, and I personally find it of little use or inspiration to me. But luckily for me, I find inspiration, love, etc., in other things.
  3. Well, I guess I misunderstood you too. It's just such a common "argument" about same-sex marriage ("Well we might as well start letting people marry animals!") that I thought you were serious. It's a really stupid comparison, so I'm glad you weren't serious.
  4. I try to always speak the truth. And yes, I have read the Gospel. I have read most of the Bible (though it's been a while), and I do not believe it contains "the truth." It's just a book written by men.
  5. I never said that I don't listen to truth.
  6. How is the government currently involved in whatever vows/promises two people make to each other? (Other than the legal side of things, like taxes, child custody, property rights, etc?) They can't force two people to love each other forever just because those two people promised each other that they would. And we certainly don't need to take any legal action to make vows/promises to each other, so it seems to me that the government is already only involved in the legal part of marriage.
  7. Comparing same-sex marriage to beastiality is pretty lame. And it's getting pretty old too.
  8. Why is the wording important? Either go get a legal marriage, go get a church marriage, or get both. What is changed by calling it a "civil union" instead of a "marriage"?
  9. Finishing this semester (and having a couple of weeks off), going camping, going to Texas.
  10. Ha! I'm looking at a website about Silverwood Lake right now.
  11. Thanks, JP. Now I have too many choices. Though it looks like we may be limited to whatever is available, since we'll probably be going on a weekend, and a lot of the sites are already reserved.
  12. That looks like a nice place, but it sounds like it's hard to get a campsite.(???)
  13. I'm looking at Lake Arrowhead now - never been up there. It's only about 1 1/2 hours from our house, so I'm liking that. It looks like we can camp at Silverwood Lake or Lake Arrowhead in that area. Do you have any idea which one is better, or where the best campgrounds are? Big Sur sounds nice too, if we want to drive a bit further. I don't think I want to go to any of those no-body-contact lakes. We have our boat on one of those (Diamond Valley), and I am SO frustrated with not being able to jump in the freakin' water when it's hot!
  14. I'm kinda boring.... I usually prefer a slice of cheese pizza with a big fresh salad on the side.... and a glass (or three) of Chardonnay. I never thought about making one on the barbie though. I'll have to try that sometime.
  15. That sounds like fun. But I have a summer semester starting on the 9th, and I'm not so sure that attending a wine festival the day before is a good idea. (Being the lush that I am.)
  16. Yeah, I've camped there a few times. And I've been thrown into that pool more times than I can count.
  17. I'll post any that are PG-rated.
  18. Cool, thanks (both of y'all)... I'll check out those places. I feel the need to go camping soon, but I want to go somewhere where I can get some swimming in too.
  19. Is there any water around there?
  20. Anyone have any suggestions for good places to go camping in SoCal? Preferably near water (ocean, lake, or river) and hiking trails.
  21. Ah, so you're just playing god. Well that explains what this thread is all about.
