What will be the Result of a Trump Win After Jan 20th
wmw999 replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
Unfortunately I think that's like people who try to break the oil industry by not buying gasoline. Too much is invested in the current system. I wish it weren't so, but I think it'll take either some kind of meltdown (like WW2 or the Depression) or violence. The only times a third party has even come close to winning in the last 150 years has been when it's been a populist party, or based on personal loyalty (e.g. T. Roosevelt). And then it wasn't particularly close, just close enough to mention. Wendy P. -
What would you call January 6, 2021? A visit to the Capitol for a group of Revolutionary War re-enactors? Wendy P.

Frankly, if the shooter really was a diehard Republican, I wonder if he volunteered for a suicide mission. While I don’t really think Trump is that evil, I have no doubts about some of his advisers Wendy P.

Just buy a car in South America or Europe. They still drive stick. I rented one in October, one in May Wendy P.

If diversity is so irrelevant, why do Vice Presidents tend to represent demographics that the President doesn't (e.g. states he wants to appeal to). Or is it only states that matter, and not things like economic class, and other things that impact how people see and treat one? Wendy P.

One lie? How about Wendy P.

Actually he's still teaching there. He was suspended for two years. Per Wikipedia: Just because you're a guy doesn't really mean you can say anything to anyone, whether you're white or black. Women count, too. Wendy P.

Same as the stock market; past performance doesn’t guarantee future results. Conditions have changed for the country, the court, and both candidates. Thinking differently is stupid Wendy P.

That’s a damn nasty thing to say, and anyway he didn’t say he rents; he only said he had rent a few years ago. Wendy P.

You must be thrilled Wendy P.

Only by people like you, who look to the right person when apportioning blame, kind of like the abusive spouse who said "you made me!" Wendy P.

Not for a long time, if ever. There are still cars that use leaded gas, and I passed several Amish farms this afternoon (driving back from Ontario), where they were using horses and buggies. In a number of years, there may no longer be as wide a variety of gasoline cars, that’s it Wendy P.

There are female tandem masters at many drop zones. If you call before going, you can ask if the one you are thinking about has a woman tandem master. If they don’t, they are very likely to know who does. Wendy P.

That all depends on whether the drive is part of the fun. When I’m going somewhere I don’t always choose the fastest way or the longest hours. Wendy P.

So you concede that you either misread or were misquoting Bill? And there are superchargers, so Bill doesn’t have to imagine being on a trip without them. Wendy P.

But he didn’t use it. That was his worst-case scenario planning. Wendy P.

He loved the cartoon…

I just took the train down to Washington DC and back a couple of weeks ago; easy peasy. We do that to NYC too Wendy P.

Thanks; I’m pretty sure it’s the same jump I was on. I’ll go check my copy. One pecker hanging out at 6:00, right? Wendy P.

Ya know, if he does go ahead and be liberal with the interpretation of ruling, he will either: be prosecuted and therefore set a precedent that they'll have to follow when Trump does worse not be prosecuted, and either make a ton of money, or make it clear to everyone that the president is now king Wendy P.

I'm sorry; I don't know, and I don't have any abilities to fix anything. Meso is the only one. Wendy P.

I got a jump out the side door; I would have loved to do the bomb bay, but there was flooring over it... Wendy P.

After the Columbia disaster, there was talk that if they had gotten the rescue mission, the pilot/commander types would have drawn straws to see who got to take Columbia home. And the word was that it was the winner, not the loser, who'd get to do it. Because if it works, he's a hero, and if it doesn't, he's still a hero, who goes out in a blaze of glory. Absolutely no backing, just people who knew lots of astronauts surmising... Wendy P.

Not sure about that. My memory is that it was complete. I was at about 5:00. This was the old Spaceland Wendy P.

Have you ever been a woman in a workplace where the management is all male, and handsy? Have you ever heard "the law says I have to interview them, but it sure don't say I have to hire them." Have you ever heard "you can come in, gorgeous, but your husband can't." Have you ever heard, yet again, "you must be on the rag." Or maybe "you can't be so blunt," when you're not as blunt as some of the men in the group. Being on the delivering side of all those is privilege, because no one else in management (or the power structure) can be told any of those things, because of who they are. Wendy P.
