  1. Thanks! Anyone else got any first impressions? I've got one on pre-order and eager to hear more! Apex BASE #1816
  2. Do you have much time on a PTS? Most of my tracking jumps are on a PTS (which definitely likes to fly steep) and when I jumped the Sumo it seemed much more natural in a flatter position than I'm used to. This isn't necessarily good or bad, just a different style. They seem to cover similar amounts of horizontal ground, both very stable and comfortable, they just got there most efficiently at different angles. In my experience. I think the Sumo would be an easier suit to fly from the start, as most skydivers aren't used to tracking as steep as the PTS prefers. As far as top end performance is concerned, I have no idea. Not qualified enough on either suit to judge. Apex BASE #1816
  3. You win dude. You're smarter, you're a better flyer, and your dick is bigger. Good job. Edited to say that arguing with an idiot makes one an even larger idiot. For that I am guilty. Lesson learned, and I'm out of here. Apex BASE #1816
  4. I didn't post any advice and I certainly didn't chirp at you for inexperience. In fact, I rarely post anything that isn't sarcastic because I'm a sh*thead. All I said was that you are the worst and this thread sucks d*cks. I still think that's right. Apex BASE #1816
  5. Another Star Wars name? For a small fee, I'll be happy to come up with more creative names for Tony. Apex BASE #1816
  6. Dude...just tell us what you want to hear and I'll f*cking say it. You are the worst and this thread sucks major d*cks. Apex BASE #1816
  7. You're on your own, smart ass. Apex BASE #1816
  8. That's way too long of a summary. Here's a real summary of this shitty thread: You: I made a mistake. Everyone: Yes, you made a mistake. Here is some feedback. You: F*ck you, and f*ck your feedback! Now let's lock it and move on. Apex BASE #1816
  9. Haha, I was wondering the same thing. Maybe I skipped some steps and I'm not aware of it. Apex BASE #1816
  10. My father grew up in New Jersey. He described his neighborhood as having an Irish area, an Italian section, a Polish block, a Jewish area, etc. He talked about how the Irish kids would fight the Italians, the Italians would fight the Polish, etc. My comment to him was, aren't they all just white? Our ethnic divides have gotten less and less specific over time. The world has shrunk, there are hot girls on every continent, and it's all a good time just the same. We'll all be a gray mix of everything eventually. So I say enjoy the different flavors while they are still out there. Apex BASE #1816
  11. Any new info on the Power? I'd also be curious to know the expected pricing on this vs. the old Venom. Thanks! Apex BASE #1816
  12. Start practicing head down. Apex BASE #1816
  13. I hope you're like 10 years old. Other than that, there's no excuse for this. Apex BASE #1816
  14. Do some front flips. Open up your legwing during the rotation. That'll do the trick. Apex BASE #1816
  15. Maybe we should send Gerardo over to your kayak operation since you think he's so legit. I mean, with your proper instruction there's no way he'd screw up and fetch a lawyer on you, eh? Apex BASE #1816
  16. Told you dude. Just start a new account as "Davis_Doug" and hopefully nobody will remember any of this. Apex BASE #1816
  17. You clearly don't have enough experience to know that defending Gerardo Flores is the quickest way to make everyone on this forum hate you. I hope you have a backup handle in mind. Apex BASE #1816
  18. Sold. Thanks guys! Apex BASE #1816
  19. Good to know. Is this the stuff you're using? http://www.scotchgard.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/NAScotchgard/Global/Products/Product_Catalog/~/Scotchgard-Fabric-Upholstery-Protector?N=4340+3294466427+3294529207&rt=rud If it's safe for silks I'd guess a wingsuit could handle it. Apex BASE #1816
  20. I'm sure you already know what I'm going to ask. People Scotch Guard rigs. Anyone ever use it on a wingsuit? Intuition tells me it might be okay for parapack or some of the other tougher materials, but I'd be nervous to use it on the balloon or other ultralight fabrics. Apex BASE #1816
  21. I just got a PTS built for me and the neck is pretty tight. Might not matter much though, the torso of the jacket is largely choked off by the harness and really only inflates in the arms. All of the power comes from your legs. Apex BASE #1816
  22. Here's what I use: http://www.scotchgard.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/NAScotchgard/Global/Products/Product_Catalog/~/Scotchgard-Fabric-Upholstery-Cleaner?N=4340+3294466418+3294529207&rt=rud And this is from the doc attached above: "The use of Scotchgard® brand fabric protector has become commonplace in recent years. This fabric treatment seals the pores of the fabric against dirt and other stains. Scotchgard® is NOT a magical “silver bullet” against dirt. However, it has shown good results in keeping lighter colored fabric cleaner longer under normal use...Scotchgard® is not harmful to today’s container fabrics such as para-pak and Cordura®. There are currently several Scotchgard® formulas. The standard fabric and upholstery formula is in the RED CAN [Figure A]. Do not use the rug and carpet formula in the blue can." Don't use carpet cleaner. Use the fabric cleaner. Thanks for the doc guys. *Edited to add: I can see how the thread and my reply seem to indicate an endorsement of the carpet cleaner. That was not my intent and I've never used a carpet solution on my rig. I was referring to the Fabric Cleaner, vs. the Fabric Protector (I believe both are commonly used...both red cans designed for fabric applications). Apologies for the confusion. Apex BASE #1816
  23. Scotch Guard makes a foaming spot cleaner, I've used that with no issues for a while now. Apex BASE #1816
