  1. He'll only be my hero when which ever one of these occurs first: 1) He and I do an awesome freefly jump together where at some point he maintains a good sit (as skycat says he's challenged in that realm). or 2) My reserve opens on my next ... or would that be first (oops beer) ... mal. 2. I hope to get another chance to jump with you Aggie. If you can believe this, I'm getting better every weekend and since we last jumped together at Eloy (which was an awesome experience as a whole) I've almost double my jump numbers. Eloy taught me how to free fly with others and now I'm just slowly refining my skills. Of course my current free flying issues aren't anything that a few thousand jumps can't resolve. 3. Is it just me, or is this something that a (real) skydiver would never say. I know when I first started jumping (in between my tandem and AFF) I said that I'd probably only jump once or twice a month to stay current. Little did I know what a positive effect skydiving would have on me. And now I only feel current if I'm jumping numerous times (on average 8-12 times) every weekend. Of course that's just me. I know we're all different. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  4. So when are you going to convert Hook to the benefits and joys of dark side? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Damm you do get around ... I've jumped a lot since Eloy, but only here in CO. I've yet to make it to exotic jumping mecas like FL. By the way, do you remember Peter from the x-mas boogie (the infamous Slurry Bomber guy). He's down in FL right now with another dude jumping. Bastard!!! Florida or California? Pretty soon it'll be too hot in Arizona. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

The only way I could catch up to my post numbers would be to take six months off, relocate to a drop zone open seven days a week, jump and forget that computers exist. Hey now that I think about it. That doesn't sound like such a bad idea. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  8. Maybe things have changed in the last 7 months or maybe it was just my drop zone. But I had to take a written test for my "A". But the test I took wasn't very difficult at all if you've read some if not all of the USPA SIM. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  9. Hey Don Congrats on your first (beer) solo landing jump. Don't fret about the reserve JM giving you the pull sign. The same thing happened to me when I did my Level One. But one thing that you should have done was pull right away as soon as the JM gave you the signal (instead of checking the main side JM). But other than that, good job and good luck with the rest of your training. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  10. I'm only kidding, but why don't you come out and visit us here in Colorado for a jump or two on one of our hot July summer days when the density altitude is pushing 10000 feet. Ok I'm sure that was uncalled for. But we've got some interesting challenges here that's for sure. But I like it that way. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  11. Believe me, if I don't get paid soon (or get my canopy back) I will be posting here, as well as contacting the USPA and maybe even the police. But now is not the time to be doing that sort of stuff. For all I know a letter is waiting for me in my mailbox (though I suspect it's not) Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  12. I'm currently dealing with a potentially different type of canopy thief. There is a certain DZO of a USPA DZ who contacted me about buying one of my canopies that I had listed here on "dropzone.com". We agreed to a price and three weeks ago I shipped the canopy off to him. Well thanks to FedEx's website, I know he's received it, but so far he's not paid me a penny. Over one week ago the dude did mention in an email that he forgot to send the check and that he was sorry and that it would be sent right away. But still no sign of anything (and the dude has not returned my last email enquiry about the situation). Now I'm not going to mention any names at this time in the hope that he'll have a change of heart and send me the agreed upon money (or send me back my canopy). But if I don't hear back from him sometime soon. I'm not going to be a happy camper and you know I'll be telling people about this particular USPA DZO who might be trying to steal my canopy. 13. Congrats Luke and welcome to the club. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  14. welcome to the dark side Lisa. Here's my numbers: 0:7:0 The winds kicked up this afternoon, so I had to be contempt with only two jumps today. I was also surprised to see Hooknswoop and Skycat at Mile-Hi, but they came too late to jump (while the winds were blowing). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  15. Is the canopy control camp with the Team XAOS people still on for the Thursday before the boogie? I believe I signed up for that and am eagerly awaiting that day. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  16. Congrats on pulling the rabbit out of the hat when needed and making the tournament finals. And I can related to how you feel about your sport. Not only do I also play volleyball (at a less competitive calibre) but I also play some pretty competitive hockey. My hockey team finish the regular season in 1st place and we start our playoff run (we're also the defending champs) this Tuesday evening. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. "Chuck Blue, Skydive Raeford, go fast, take chances, don't wear a helmet". A quote from the 2001 Pond Swoop Nationals video. What's funny about that quote is that SkymonkeyOne does wear a helmet. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  18. If I make it to Perris Valley in May, we'll have to make a jump together (maybe a tracking dive) as you and I are a compatible size. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  19. e-gad (spelling?), it's hard to picture Aggie Dave in a RW suit. Well my weekend isn't over, but I did have a pretty good Saturday of jumping (five jumps made today). But I can't see myself getting seven in tomorrow (I'll likely only do another five, maybe six) so my 200th may have to wait. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. I'll be turning 40 in October of this year. But I do look younger (late 20s and/or early 30s) than I really am. And being single and doing things like skydiving makes me live the lifestyle of someone in their 20s.
  21. I play co-ed volleyball, but I'm not sure if you'd classify it as real volleyball. We play on sand at this really neat suburban Denver facility that has six indoor sand courts (three on each side) with a bar sandwiching the indoor courts and there's also two outdoor sand courts. It's the big social (Wednesday) night of my week. Check it out at "www.votr.com" Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  22. My 25th is only three years away. My email addy is on the school's alumni page (and the parental units still live in the same house when I attended the school), so one would hope that they could get in touch with me. But you never know. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  23. I am thoroughly convinced now that the vast majority of the people who live on Colorado's front range are whimps when it comes to snow. Yes we did receive a lot of snow which was an inconvinience, but life goes on. I'm working in an office which is half empty today because some people claim they are stranded and get get out of their driveways. Here's an example of an email a work colleague just sent us: "I just got my Jeep completely stuck (high centered it). I live in an apt. complex and don't own a shovel, so I guess I'll be waiting for a little while." So this dude is going to wait for the snow to melt instead of getting a shovel (or something which will work like a shovel, such as his hands). What a joke. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  24. My current life is very busy with at least 3 other activities besides just skydiving (even though skydiving is almost always on my mind). There's work (how I pay for all of my hobbies), hockey (both playing and watching the NHL) and how could I forget my volleyball (the big co-ed social activity of the week). And while I don't fly airplanes as much since I started jumping, I do try and get up at least once a month to stay current. There's also many other sports which I like (such as skiing, mountain biking, mountaineering, rock climbing, etc, etc, etc) that I've put on hold since I've started jumping. 25. It actually bounced more than I thought it would and it didn't break up as much as I thought it would. But it sure left a nice crater. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
