I saw chunks of it and I thought it was well done. And contrary to what some people think, it was not bias at all. It really painted an interesting picture into why GWB is the way he is, and why Kerry is the way he is. It should be a must see (at least the 2nd half of the program) for every undecided voter. This is an unfortunate incident (just like what happened in the hangar in Rantoul two years ago). Had he made it, he would have been a hero. But since he didn't, he's a goat to many? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

The way to build experience is to jump. You're not going to build any experience by trying to do this or that before you're really ready for it. Talent is not always indicated by jump numbers, but experience is. So if you want to build some experience ... jump as often as you can afford to. Getting training/coaching is good and so is reading good training material (such as Brian Germaine's "The canopy and it's pilot" book). But just because you've read some book doesn't mean you'll be experienced. Experience is gained by getting out there and doing the jumps. Also, it's not easy for someone with only a couple of hundred of jumps to understand that they are not experienced, but the fact remains that the more jumps you do, the more you will understand why we say these sort of things. You won't really be experienced until you survived the sport "X" number of years and racked up thousands of jumps. And in that respect, I'm not all that much more experienced than you are when we compare ourselves to the truly experienced people. Be safe, be smart and have fun out there. You've got you're whole life to get better. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I've heard that GWB has a close relationship with his God and often seeks his guidance. Nothing too alarming here as many people have this sort of relationship with their God. But what's even more scary is this: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,107258,00.html I guess Pat Robertson (the fruitcake from the 700 Club) has been told by God (his God) that GWB will win the election in a landslide. What's he going to do if Kerry wins? Say that God was wrong? LOL ... that'll open up a whole can of worms. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I saw you Saturday at the bridge. The shit started to hit the fan Saturday night and it got worse on Sunday (hence the reason why I wasn't around the bridge Sunday). I hope I didn't spread too many germs to too many people. Believe me I've already thought about this. By the way, what's the normal gestating time for the flu bug? I was exposed 2 1/2 weeks ago to a sick nephew while I was up north, but I thought if it was going to happen, it would have happened sooner than the 2 1/2 weeks. Other than that, I don't know who I would have been exposed to. But if a bunch of people who were in Canon City all of a sudden get sick, well you know who will be hiding. WTF? Playing video games for 16 hours? I'm at work right now not at home playing sick. I should have stayed at home, but I don't want to waste a PTO day on a sick day when I could use it for jumping later on. And as far as killing kittens is concerned, maybe when I'm healthy. But killing kittens is low on the list of priorities at the moment. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Chaoskitty knows what I'm going through. The dishes in the sink are pilling up. Laundry? What Laundry? Who wants to do anything but ... aghhh ... suffer when they have the flu. At least the fever phase of my bug appears to be over (along with many of the head and body aches). Now if only the sore throat would take a hike. I think the worst is over, but I'd just like to reiterate that being sick really does suck. I've been battling a flu bug for the last three days now what with a fever, head and body aches and of course an extremely sore throat. Did I mention that being sick really does suck? Aghhh ... Same deal... you aren't taking that off the bridge are you? More importantly, people without proper gear knowledge should not be allowed to BASE jump. I'm sure someone out there will disgree with me and flame me because of this. But BASE jumping is NOT skydiving and knowing one's gear is the first step BASE jumpers need to know before they ever think about jumping off of a fixed object. I can't help but reiterate what a great location the Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls Idaho is for not only doing one's first 'X' number of BASE jumps from, but also what a great training location it is for even the experienced. I know I am still very much a newbie to BASE and still have much to learn and experience, but my 36 jumps to date at the Perrine helped prepare myself for my first 4 cliff jumps in Moab. Without those day time (lower stress) jumps at the Perrine, I would not have had the time to make specific jumps geared towards working on off-heading openings and gear towards general canopy control (not to mention nailing down some stable exits). In fact we should think of the Perrine in a similar manner than what the skydiving freefall people think of with their wind tunnels. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I'm not. I guess I'll have to drag out some pictures from our cliff jumps last weekend out in Moab UT. Then you'll understand why I am NOT jealous. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

If anything, it should be a lesson that things happen very fast in freefall. But pulling at 2500 feet is not a "stupid" mistake. Chalk it up as a lesson learned and move on. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

There's no oil and lucrative reconstruction contracts in North Korea to profit from. So there is no need to remove North Korea's leadership of their WMDs. For sure some people will disagree with me (and flame me), but it sure looks like this war was about $$$ and not WMD. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
Congrats dude ... I'm jealous. Then again, you've got more wingsuit experience than I do. Hey am I mistaken or have you signed up for the ground launch training in CA in November? If I'm not mistaken, then I'll see you there. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Hmmm ... the girl I dealt with at the rental office (Catherine) would sure make a nice Suggar Daddy's toy. But while we did have fun kind of flurting with each other, she isn't a jumper and didn't warm up to the idea of being around a jumpers (I brought up the whole skydiver think-a-ma-bob with her because she was trying to sell me on the golf course next door to the complex thing). But this is a nice place in a good location (Highway-36 and Sherridan) and to be saving $500/month is just too cool. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

The only place you'll find me come Christmas time is in Eloy. Boulder Colorado is a cool place to be (I've been here for 4+ years). But it's not cheap. I was paying $1300 for a two bedroom townhome (with garage) and in Westminster I'll have a 1 bedroom + den + garage for $800 and change. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Well assuming the rental company doesn't find out about my chain saw murdering escapades from Texas back in the 70s, today at lunch I put in an application for a new place to live so that I can finally get my ass out of Boulder Colorado after 4+ years. And the beauty in all of this is that the new place (Westminster Colorado) is a nice place with all the ammenities I had in Boulder, but it's $500/month cheaper. I'm looking forward to this new chapter in my life. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Well here's the problem. This incident never would have happened if you guys hadn't neglected to smoke some bowls full of that wacky-ta-backy to go along with those beers of yours. But shouldn't he have been on a VX-39 instead of the VX-65 you speak of? I mean there's less chance that the smaller canopy would have gotten snagged on the wires. Cool ... have fun and be safe ... I wish I could be there, but you can't have your cake and eat it at the same time and what with my previous time taken away from work and some up and coming events, taking time off from work for Bridge Day just wasn't going to happen this year. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Hopefully you will be using this skydiving rig for only some skydiving in MI and not jumping off of the New River Gorge Bridge with it? Yes people have successfully jumped that bridge with skydiving gear, but one only needs to watch Johnny Utah's Bridge Day safety video to realize that it isn't a good idea. My bad ... maybe I just can't connect the dots between the face I see in the avatar and the face I met in person. Sorry for the confusion. I was on a high from doing my first earth bound BASE jumps and pretty much had my blinders on for everything else. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Part of me wants to jump (well all of me wants to jump from the bridge, but I've only got 40 jumps and I think they were inviting people with 100+ jumps). Anyway when I say part of me wants to jump, this also includes getting a skydive in (maybe I'll run off to SDTR for a jump or two). But part of me thinks that I need to be there to meet the BASE people I have yet to meet and get some good video (and having a packed rig ready to go if they give me a green light). But I'm not sure about the gracious offer to watch the games from a raft below (seeing as I want to have my video camera handy). But hopefully I will get to meet a bunch of people (including davedlg) who I've yet to meet. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
