To get back to the point you were trying to make: I would agree that "Terror" is a loose term. But what is terror? Is it not terror when a group of anarchist thugs vandalize a business they dislike and then proceed to burn down a neighboring condo complex all because they hate rich people (or at least hate people who were able to secure a mortgage through a bank to purchase the condos)? Or is terror only allowed to be used when people are killed under certain circumstances? Yes it is a loose term, but I thought terror existed when people were afraid because some sort of violent act was perpetrated against them or their property. You are correct. I didn't build it. The numerous engineers and mechanics from all the various private teams (some tied to large manufacturers, some operating as independents) spread around the globe in many different countries and which represent many different racing series developed components to make their racing cars faster, safer and more reliable. Over time many (but not all) of these innovations were adopted by the large manufacturers and made their way to the production lines to be used on the modern cars we use today on our public roads. I have never purchased a new car in my life. I have always tended to buy something that was 2-3 years old (let someone else pay for most of the vehicle's initial big depreciation drop) and then drive the vehicle until it dies and/or no longer makes economic sense to keep the vehicle and then repeat the cycle with another vehicle. If you want to buy new every couple of years, have at it, but I have only owned 3 daily drivers in the 25+ years I have been driving. Now as far as young people are concerned, without a doubt the young in today's world are far more likely to be indoctrinated into the Left's ideology than when I was young. But I grew up in the late 70s early 80s when society was also going through turbulent economic times and I did not own a car until I was 21 simply because I could not afford the expense back then and my first car was a complete lemon, I never should have bought that piece of crap. No I didn't own my first reasonably good 3 year old vehicle until I was 24. Until then I: 1) Took public transit to and from work. 2) Rode my bike when I could. 3) Relied on friends who had cars. I have plenty of things I would like to criticize the messiah savior of humanity for. But this is not one of them. Maybe I will buy one of your used vehicles when you are done with it. But I suspect I still have another 5 or more years left in my 1999 Jeep Wrangler before it is no longer economically viable. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I didn't get through all of the pics as the website was loading much too slow for my liking. But from the pics I did see, "The Boss" Bruce Springsteen has weathered time much better than most others and there isn't that much difference between when Sting was a star in the 80s and now. I would like to see Joey tell AggieDave to his face that he does not respect him. Not because Dave is this rather large man. No I would like to see Joey tell Dave to his face that he does not respect him because from all the years I have interacting with Dave on this site as well as the few times I have jumped with Dave in Eloy is that AggieDave is a decent guy, a good guy. Racist right wing Toronto mayor smokes crack on video
CanuckInUSA replied to skinnay's topic in Speakers Corner
If credible evidence surfaces that proves that Rob Ford was doing drugs with these Toronto based Somali drug dealers, then yes I will be one of many who will be calling for the mayor to step down (even though he is not even my mayor, I live on the other side of the country). But I want to live in a country where people are considered "Innocent until proven guilty" and well that is something that is just not happening with this issue. The MSM has stooped to a new low with this story. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
Racist right wing Toronto mayor smokes crack on video
CanuckInUSA replied to skinnay's topic in Speakers Corner
How much do you really know about Toronto? Do you actually pay attention to the city's affairs? Remember I lived in the USA for 8 (great) years so I am aware of the lack of news coverage Canada gets in the USA. Someone in the USA actually needs to be proactive in seeking news coverage from places like Toronto. If they aren't proactive, they simply won't be aware of what is going on. So are you aware of the track record of the Rob Ford's predecessor? Without looking it up, do you even know the name of the mayor who proceeded Rob Ford? If you know anything about how the previous mayor ran the city's affairs, then maybe you would understand why the current mayor was voted in. Rob Ford is no saint. He has plenty of faults. But the mess in Toronto (make no mistake Toronto is a complete mess right now) runs much deeper than just the current mayor and the way the consensus mainstream media is treating this issue is a complete farce. In the eyes of the MSM, you are now guilty unless you can prove to them that you are innocent as the MSM would much rather believe unverifiable slander produced by Somali drug dealers rather than treat someone as innocent until proven guilty. By the way, WTF are Somali drug dealers doing in the country? Shouldn't the media be running stories on how we let Somali drug dealers stay in the country? No the media only cares about sensationalizing their stories and if a scandal does not exist, trust that the consensus mainstream media will invent a scandal to keep themselves busy. Yes I know, rather obtuse of me to think someone would actually listen to what was being said. Today the IRS is coming after Republicans, tomorrow they will be coming after everyone who has not bought their Obamacare insurance. And whistle blowers who know of government wrong doings will think twice about picking up the phone because they can't trust that their conversations are not being listen to by the justice department. Certainly not the sort of country your founding fathers envisioned. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Someone brought this video to my attention and it is chilling. http://floor.senate.gov/MediaPlayer.php?view_id=2&clip_id=593 I have only watched one speech, who knows what other chilling speeches are in it. But I encourage people to put aside their partisan preferences for a moment and ignore who the speaker is and instead listen to what he is saying. I encourage people to watch the entire 15 minute speech starting at about the 4 hour and 23 1/2 minute mark of this video. But if 15 minutes is too much for you, I encourage people to watch starting at the 4 hour, 32 minute and about 40 second mark and only watch the last very chilling 5 minutes of this speech and turn off or look away from the monitor and just listen to what is being said. Remember this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Se_R2bn2YTg You probably think this is real. Rob Ford is no saint. He has plenty of faults. But what you are trying to do here is nothing new. The left has been slandering the mayor from the moment he took office. When you have some actual evidence, not slander, by all means present your evidence to the community. Until then all that you have supplied is garbage. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

Racist? He volunteers his time to coach an inner city high school football team that is made up of, that's right, made up of black students. If he hates blacks, why does he spend so much time trying to help them have fun and help them learn a few life lessons from sports. Mayor Ford is no saint. He has his flaws. But the next time you want people to take you seriously, find some source other than one of the many radical left wing groups who tries anything and everything to slander the mayor. You should see what is going on in Edmonton these days. The owner of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers Daryl Katz wants a new tax payer funded stadium built and to add a curve ball to the mix he has alleged to have made illegal political donations to the ruling Progressive Conservative Party currently in power (oh and this Progressive Party is conservative in name only). Millions have gone missing, there is no stadium and who is on the line to pay for this mess? You guessed it, the tax payers. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I'm not arguing with you. I agree with everything you are saying. PS: I am a former Colorado Avalanche season ticket holder from 2000 through to 2004 and the NHL's 2004/2005 labor dispute forever tainted me. Of course I no longer live in the Denver area, so giving up my Avs season tickets had to happen. But I could have easily pursued new season tickets here in Calgary with the Flames. But I am sick of the millionaire athletes fighting with the billionaire owners. Back in the 1980s when I became an adult I could attend an NHL hockey game for less than $20 and now these same seats cost well over $120 each. The four major sports in North America (soccer in Europe is no different) is out of control. But I have taken myself out of the equation. I just find it amusing when people whine about the money in sports without seeing the big picture as to why the money in sports has exploded. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

There is a lot of abuse of the tax payers money. These days politicians cater to whatever special interest groups buy them the most votes and school sports is just one in a long list of special interests. I just wanted to point out the history of the relationship between the owners and the athletes and how the Labor movement got involved to help the athlete, but at the expense of sports as a whole. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

It is sort of amusing listening to people whine about the money in sports when it was the Labor movement who was highly influential in bringing more money into sports. What I am about to speak of is more related to pro sports and I know the OP wants to blame the money in school sports, but the pro sports and the schools are highly integrated now where the big entertainment money is involved in both domains. There was a time not that long ago when the owners had complete control over these sports where the owners were the only ones making the money (though they weren't making nearly as much money as they do now) and the owners had slave like rights over the athletes and coaches. Was this fair for the owners to have all this power over the destiny of the athletes? Was this fair where the athletes were tied to one owner for life where the athlete was denied the right to control their own destiny? Of course it wasn't fair. This was modern day slavery. So the Labor movement got involved and now the athletes and the coaches have been given the ability to negotiate their own settlements with the highest bidder. The result has been more money has been brought into sports and the people who are ultimately being screwed are the fans who must pay more and of course in the case of school athletics, the tax payers are also asked to foot a higher percentage. Is there a way to bring back sanity into the sports world where the athletes can control their own destiny and yet still keep sports affordable? Not so sure. Greed is a powerful tool in the entertainment industry and there is plenty of greed being spread around. It's not just the owners who are greedy these days. The CBC short on non-caucasians? You are joking right? Look I understand you may not be bombarded with the CBC on a daily basis, so I will be willing to cut you some slack here. I know you like to surf around many news sites including some Canadian sites and how could you not be aware of the biggest grand daddy of them all, the publicly funded state broadcaster CBC. There isn't anyone bigger here. This is a big as they come and make no mistake, there is no shortage of non-caucasians down at the CBC because they are pretty much all every thing but white males down at the CBC. The only white males down at the CBC fall into two categories: - Long time employees who have been at the Mother Corps for at least the last 1/4 century. or - Newer ones who are openly gay. Here is a good commentary on the publicly funded state broadcaster. http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/video/featured/prime-time/867432237001/cbcrsquos-reverse-racism/2344404364001 As the commentator says "It would be one thing if this was a privately funded organization". But it's not. This isn't Hollywood, this isn't some private organization who could be put out of business if they exercised poor judgment. No this is a publicly funded government organization, and their racism is no accident. Disclaimer: the supplied video and commentator Ezra Levant from SUN News is hated by the Left. Just thought I should put that out there. Not trying to hide anything. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I have an example of racism for you. http://nationalpostnews.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/cbckids1.jpg?w=620 This was a recent ad from a well known Leftist TV and radio news agency who was advertising a job opening for a new TV host. Look at the bottom of the ad and tell me this is not racism. It would be bad if this organization was privately funded. But they are not, The are a publicly funded organization. Leftist hypocrites.
