  1. I don't, but I know someone who does. They made me try it one day and I almost threw up. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  2. Butter Milk That stuff is gross. I could never understand why some people drank it. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  3. No not in Pennsylvania. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  4. Not politically correct for me to bring this up, but since you ask "What is one thing that you will absolutely never understand the appeal of". Answer: The Hersey Highway. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  5. Roger Rodas (the man killed with Paul Walker) was a talented race car driver and even his experience racing cars was not enough to save his and Walker's bacon when he lost control of his Porsche Carrera GT. What makes Beiber think he has what it takes to street race a Lambo when someone with way more experience couldn't do it. Oh silly me. Money + youth + the constant stream of fools fawning over celebrities makes the celebrity think "they are all that". Here is hoping the FL authorities throw the book at Beiber. It's time this fool woke up and realized he is not all that special. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  6. In Soccer, the ball can be out of play, the players are lining up to resume play and yet the clock is still running. Same in Rugby, the ball may be out of play and yet the clock is still running. American Football is not the only sport where the action has stopped, the players are standing around and yet the clock is still running. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  7. Skiing and Boarding both have their pros and cons. But skiing is way more versatile in terms of mountain access. I used to Ski Patrol in Lake Louise Alberta. There is no way in hell that you can properly do the job on a Board. To patrol you either need to be on skis or be on a snowmobile. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  8. There are plenty of sports that stop, start, stop, start, etc, etc, etc. In fact pretty much all team sports stop and start. I love Rugby, I used to play Rugby (Union rules). But you can't tell me that they don't stop and start in Rugby. American Football is a contact chess game. American Football is about trying to deceive the other team. It's about lining up making the other team think you are about to do this, when you really are intending on doing that. I am not saying American Football is the best sport. I like almost all sports, but it really comes down to "Do you care about the result of the game". If you don't care, it's easy to sluff off the game. But if you do care, it's easy to get caught up in every moment. However there is one thing about the big three American sports (Football, Baseball and Basketball) that is different for many other sports around the globe. The big three sports have plenty of TV commercial breaks. It's unfortunate, but it is what it is. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  9. People who claim Motorsports is NOT a sport without ever having been in a race car (or Kart) driving at the limit on a race track during a race where you are doing everything you can to stay in front of the person behind you, while trying to pass the person in front of you and doing all of this without any contact. I would NOT say it is the "Ultimate Adrenaline Rush" especially in front of a community of Skydivers and BASE Jumpers. But if there ever was a group of people who might understand the adrenaline rush racers experience, you would think it would be jumpers. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  10. Her father is a British Hotelier with Thai ancestry. When you come from well off families, the authorities tend to look the other way with these sorts of things. But the FIS is strict when it comes to minimum talent required to race. So we know she is more than just some British violinist with rich parents. She has enough skiing skills for the FIS to allow her to compete. PS: there is a bloke from Zimbabwe who is qualified to compete. The difference here is that he was born in Zimbabwe. But he left at age 2 and has been living in Switzerland ever since. He is however the first athlete to ever represent Zimbabwe at the Winter Games. 11. I first heard about this helmet back in the fall but have not pursued it since then. However I race Karts (I race a 2 stroke Rotax DD2 Kart) and this might be awesome for Kart racing since there are no mirrors attached to our Karts. What better way to close the door on someone trying to pass you when you know they are coming. Of course the race Marshals might not share the same enthusiasm for the helmet if only one person had it. It would likely need to be an all or none scenario. 12. Here she is, Vanessa-Mae Vanakorn Nicholson, born in Singapore and raised in the UK, she has been skiing since the age of 4. At first I was skeptical. But it's legit. According to the FIS she is qualified to compete at Sochi. She'll probably finish many many seconds off of the pace. But if she meets the minimum standards set out by the FIS, who are we to say she should not be there. Qualifications to compete in skiing at Sochi Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  13. Absolutely ... yes. I am also going to guess that based on your avatar, you are the girl on the left. PS: are you playing a little Photoshop trickery on us? In other words the two girls in the picture are the same person? haha ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  14. Who's going to win the 420 Bowl (previously known as the Super Bowl)? Putting aside the stoners and their munchies for a second, it should be an interesting game. The Denver Broncos are coming off of a season where they were one of the most productive offenses in NFL history while the Seahawks have a rather good defense to counteract Denver's offense. Personally I think it will come down to the weather. If the weather in Joisey two weeks from now is reasonably good, I like the Broncos to win the game. But if the weather is cold and nasty, it will most likely favor the Seahawk's defense as Broncos HOF QB Payton Manning hasn't always done well in poor weather games. The Denver Broncos are 2-4 in previous Super Bowl appearances. The Seattle Seahawks are 0-1 in previous Super Bowl appearances. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  15. It wasn't always this way, but Hollywood is highly political these days. and then there was the lack of a "Boobies" option in the poll. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  16. Reading the title of the thread makes one think the premise of this thread was about whether or not gay people should be traveling to Sochi Russia or Yemen. Silly me for thinking the title of the thread had anything to do with what was actually being discussed. But if one was to attempt to get the thread back on topic, I wonder who does the Gay Lobby think is their bigger threat during the Winter Games? The Russian Government or the Chechens? I know what my answer would be. But I don't speak for the Gay Lobby. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. No you are confusing my position on the issue. I don't believe Obesity is causing all of the issues. I just happen to believe that the diet of tens (if not hundreds) of millions of Americans which is fueling the Obesity epidemic is the biggest problem with American's poor health. The last time I checked biggest != all. Oh and Americans do not have a monopoly on stress, low wages, long hours and loss of hope. There are plenty of people around the globe who have these issues. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  18. Wrong? Wrong about what? Wrong that America's biggest health challenges are because their poor diets which results in your Obesity epidemic? Or wrong that a diet high in sodium helps promote weight gain? Because neither of these facts are wrong. What am I wrong about? Of course weight gain is caused by numerous factors, not just high sodium intake (yes calories taken in versus burned are the biggest factor, no argument there). And of course diets high in sodium have much more dire health risks than just water retention. But what sort of nurse is not aware that a diet high in sodium promotes weight gain? I'll give you the last word, just to show I am not one of those who always has to get the last word in. If not poor diets which result in obesity (in both genders in every US state) is NOT the reason why Americans are not living as long as they should and are not living as long as people in other nations, what is the problem? It can't be healthcare? Canada's public single payer healthcare system is a joke. It is rifle with bureaucratic waste. Just the other day two people were released from some Winnipeg hospitals on separate incidents because the hospitals said they were healthy enough to be at home and in both cases these people died before they could actually get to their front door steps. This is certainly not the single payer system America should be trying to emulate. So what it is? Why are so many Americans unhealthy? What am I wrong about? Your word ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  19. Yes silly me, how could I have missed the obvious. Only when the US implements it's "National Toilet Paper Registry" will Americans be able to sleep easy knowing that their government is there to protect them from all risks life may present. Once the "National Toilet Paper Registry" is in place, government will know in real time who is pooping too much and thus eating too much and then government can immediately intervene to save the guilty party from themselves. Thanks for helping me see the light Turtle. I can't wait for the day when government bureaucrats wipe my rear end. They are already screwing everyone up the rear end, why not clean up after themselves at the same time. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. Smoking is on the decline, but for sure there are many life long smokers who were never able to quit, who are getting up there in age and who either are or will begin to suffer failing health from their smoking. Also, while smoking effects both genders equally, at least when I was growing up in the 70s and 80s there appeared to be more females than males who smoked. So this is one aspect where I may be a little wrong in saying it is not an issue of gender. If more females than males still smoke, then naturally this will have an influence on the stats. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  21. It's more than just that. If you are not aware of how a diet high in sodium influences weight gain, then you need to seek out information as to why this happens. And it's not a gender issue. It effects both sexes. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  22. Why did you start this thread? Well that is a silly question. We know why you started it. You started it because you thought you could win some cheap political points. Of course people's health decline for more than just diet. But diet is the largest influencing factor and obesity in America is it's biggest health challenge. If you or anyone else want to dispute this, well you are just obtuse or intellectually dishonest. Since I do not think you are obtuse, it must be the other. If the people in the Blue States are eating better than the Red State peeps then I certainly am NOT going to be criticizing the people in the Blue States. Maybe it's time the people in the Red States smartened up and started to eat better. But there are millions of obese people in the Blue States as well and many (not all) are Progressives. So obesity is everywhere, it effects both genders and it is the number one reason why Americans are not living as long as people in other nations. However, let's also remember that the first of the Baby Boomers are beginning to retire and well also die off due to their poor health. You know the Baby Boom generation right? You should since you are one of the front end Boomers. The population explosion following the 2nd World War? Naturally when the Boomers begin to die off as they are now, this will influence any historical stats on death. What's going to happen in the future when Gen-X reach retirement age and begin to die off? Do you think the number of people dying will continue to go up like it will with the Boomers or will the number of people dying level off and then come down? Of course it will be down since there simply are not as many Gen-Xers as there are Boomers. But of course let's not let logic get in the way of partisan politics. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  23. So the declining health of tens (if not hundreds) of millions of Americans (notice I did not focus one only one gender) has nothing to do with obesity? Really? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  24. Guess what causes obesity? ROFLMAO Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  25. Obesity is NOT a gender issue, and here you are making it one. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
