  1. Eagerly awaiting examples of laws i have complained about. Organizations, yes. I do complain about organizations. I believe the NAACP is a racist organization, I believe BET is a racist channel. Any business function that specifically targets one race while purposely secluding others is in my mind a racist organization. They promote segregration. BET doesn't purposely ignore anyone. You'll see many of the same videos and hear much of the same music on MTV and MTV2. Segregation: the separation or isolation of a race, class, or ethnic group by enforced or voluntary residence in a restricted area, by barriers to social intercourse, by separate educational facilities, or by other discriminatory means. Not applicable. By the way, Viacom owns BET and controls its programming. There are NO Black executives at Viacom. None. Now I'm done.
  2. Is so hard to understand? I guess that is where we have to agree to disagree. I think this is easy. It is quite clear in my mind, Race or color should not factor into any opinion, attitude or action taken by any individual. Plain and simple. It's almost funny but not really. "It is quite clear in my mind, Race or color should not factor into any opinion, attitude or action taken by any individual." Okay but who was it that said "Why the hell do black people always think it is a freakin conspiracy against them????" "Quite clear" hmmmmm? Okay. I'm done. See you in Feb Ron.
  3. A way to begin a construtive discussion or a way to put people on the defensive? . That is my way of expressing my frustrations, perhaps if there were not so many cases of Black people either trying to use their skin color to their advantage or assuming that their skin color is the cause of hardships in their life then i wouldnt have been so passionate about my wording. Are you still trying to "promote unity" by making blanket statements?
  4. Ya think I can get help from UNCF? Ya find any White School mags? http://www.black-collegian.com/ You still haven't told me what school you can't attend because you're white. No, you can't get help from the UNCF. Again, WET, NAAWP, white school mags... so what? It sounds like "He has one so I want one." Not because you feel the need for one but just because. While I used the word "you" I'm not pointing my finger at Ron. Start one if you'd like. I'd be interested in the content.
  5. Lady Killers is a remake. http://www.movie-gazette.com/cinereviews/775 Bulworth...was an attack on politics? There might have been racial slams, but not like the movie "Soul Plane" MMW. Was about a WHITE Kid trying to be black....And it was quite stupid. Lady Killers being a remake doesn't have anything to do with its images of Black people. Bulworth perpetuated horrible images and stereotypes regardless of its commentary on politics. Malibu's Most Wanted... is that what Black people act like (not really directed at you)? I don't know any who behave like that. In addition, the two other characters drew hella fire from Black people. Nas made a song about one of the actors in the film as a result. If you're looking for a film with White people in blackface made recently, it simply doesn't exist. Nonetheless, these films still sparked heated debate.
  6. My parents didn't, I don't. Who prevents them? There are schools I can't go to...Some just because I am white. What if my group is "White Americans" and my goal is to rid AA from the government...Think that would fly? Not likely. I'd get sued, or killed. What school can't you attend because you're White? There is actually a concerted effort to remove AA from government as well as public schools. It is flying as it's already started to happen in California.
  7. Great interview...But does it not seem strange that you want to FORCE people to interview? What if they don't get the job? Is the next step to call the owner a racist? As i said earlier, what's strange is that people need to be forced but apparently they do. If they don't get the job they don't get the job. The next step is to keep interviewing.
  8. Fair enough....5 out of 4 people are dyslexic OK.... One difference is Spaceballs was made in 1987, Airplane in 1980. White Chicks and Soul Plane were both made in 2004. Can you name one film made by white directors staring white actors that makes fun of blacks in the last 5 years? While I thought SpaceBalls, Airplane and Even Blazing Saddles were great, they could not be made today. I would not care. Its good humor. But why is it OK for Blacks to make fun of whites, but whites making fun of blacks is taboo and will get you sued? Okay... Lady Killers directed by Joel Coen starring Tom Hanks. Bulworth directed by and starring Watten Beatty. Malibu's Most Wanted directed by John Whitesell starring Jamie Kennedy.
  9. Oh, I ask and listen. But I don't JUDGE based on the answers. How many times have you see someone with all the things a person would need to do really fuck it all away? I'll throw Paris Hilton into that group. She could of had anything she wanted. Instead she is a twit. I know folks that had nothing and managed to make something of themselves. I don't care where you are from, I care about who you are, and where you are going. Does it matter? The group would never be allowed. Just like "White TV" could be NASCAR and hunting shows...The fact that it would be called "White" would make it so they were sued even before they could air... But we can have "BET" and "Gay TV" How about this: If someone tried to have a "straight only section" they would be called homophobes. I am not saying that there are not some stupid folks that are not racist....What I am saying is that they are of all colors and types. The difference is that some are government sponsored. There's an African proverb that bascially says "If you don't know where you've come from you won't know where you're going." I understand what and how you view people we simply do it different ways. Let's not beat a dead horse. Yes, it matters. If there's no need for it, as defined by the people it would represent, then it's a moot point. If someone tried to have a straight only section... who cares? Soome would complain the same way there were complaints when the gay section was established. Let them complain. Who's it hurting?
  10. See I disagree. I ignore your family history, your education, your skin color....I look at the person and how they act, and how they treat others...Thats equal. You can celabrate diversity all you want. As long as when it comes down to the bottom line that you don't favor any person based on it. I treat people equally. I see TONS of racism from blacks to whites. Everyone ignores it, or encourages it. NAACP, BET. If anyone had "The National Associaton for the Advancement of White People", or "White Entertainment TV"....Oh hell there would be a shit storm. But for Blacks its OK? Why? You have proof of that? How many Black NFL coaches have been hired since it was started? Is it possible that there are just not that many qualified Black Coaches? Yes, there is a possibility that there aren't as many qualified Black coaches, although I don't agree. But, let's interview and find out.
  11. I have no idea....Maybe old reruns of "Andy Grifith" Did you see the movie "White Chicks"? Or maybe "Soul Plane"? It's OK for Blacks to make fun of whites, but it is not OK the other way....Why? Please tell me you just screwed that up. Why should sex be included unless the job is giving birth? Why should race be a factor ever? First off, yes I screwed that up. It's backward. Secondly, yes I did see "White Chicks." "Soul Plane" made fun of Black people and there were actually heated debates about the film. One side said "Oh, they're just jokes" and the other side, myself included felt there should be better representation of Black people on the screen. A large portion of Black people boycotted the film and the personalities in the film. Remember the scene in "Spaceballs" where they're ordered to "comb the desert" and they give the Black people picks? Hella funny. When asked if they've found anything they respond "Man, we ain't found shit!" Hella funny. Airplane... The mom from "Leave It to Beaver" goes back and forth with the two sick Black passengers speaking "jive." Hella funny. White people do make fun of Black people. Different people/races/ethnicites are more and less sensitive about certain things.
  12. See I disagree. I ignore your family history, your education, your skin color....I look at the person and how they act, and how they treat others...Thats equal. You can celabrate diversity all you want. As long as when it comes down to the bottom line that you don't favor any person based on it. I treat people equally. How many Black NFL coaches have been hired since it was started? Is it possible that there are just not that many qualified Black Coaches? The notion of ignoring my family history, education, ect is interesting and not something I'd considered. When I meet someone, if I'm interested in getting to know them I'll ask about their family, where they were born and raised ect. I don't know if that's a me thing, a Black thing, or a certain type of peple thing but that's normal to me. That difference explains why we don't see eye to eye. Interesting. Again, what would the National Association for the Advancement of White People's agenda be? How would it differ from the gov't that's in place now? NFL... Since the policy was put in place: Dennis Green AZ, Lovey Smith Chicago, and Romeo Crinell who is the frontrunner for the Cleveland position.
  13. I have no regrets over the words I chose to use. Its ok for you to get frustrated with "the man" and voice your concerns with no repercussions, but the second a white person brings up the issue we are considered a racist. That is not right. I am not a racist, bottom line. I could put you in touch with numerous people that could verify that information, and yes, I am referring to black friends of mine. Your point might be valid if you could point out where I got "frustrated with 'the man'." You should be able to voice your opinions regarding whatever subject you'd like to speak on. And likewise, I'll respond when I feel I need/want to. My point is simply this... saying/asking "Why the hell do black people always think it is a freakin conspiracy against them????" is not going to "promote unity." That statement indites an entire race. I never referred to you as racist. While I disagree with your position I do respect it. We'll have to simply agree to disagree.
  14. I have seen nothing offensive in his posts. Thank you Ron. I too am trying to understand what I have written that could be considered offensive. People seem to have a hard time understanding the point I am trying to get across. I AM TRYING TO PROMOTE UNITY by suggesting nobody should get special treatment just because of their skin color, INCLUDING WHITE PEOPLE. That is all. I guess because this discussion is a black and white topic then I am automatically considered a racist. You are damned if you do, you are damned if you dont The next time you want to "promote unity" you should choose your words more carefully or address the issue with someone in person. Discussions like these via the internet are difficult at best.
  15. Maybe because most are sick of being called a racist when we want to treat you equal and you demand special. As soon as we don't let you have your way you scream that we are racist. White Entertainment Television would never fly in this country, but BET is OK? Thats racism. If I hire a white guy I am called a racist...even if he is more skilled.....But you are OK with me having to hire a minority because of AA? Thats racism. Hiring based on color not performance...But you are OK with racism when it fits you, and up in arms when it even looks like it is against you. You have the "right" to get pissed and call me a racist. I have no right to hire the best guy, or be proud of family. You kill me. I have seen nothing offensive in his posts. Out of curosity, what type of programming would WET have? As you answer bear in mind BET is primarily entertainment... Black Entertainment Television. Hiring based on performance not race is definitely racist. But keep in mind that's not how it's designed to work. Performance, sex, and race all figure into the decision. An interesting note... women statistically benefit more from AA than any other segment of the population. With this said it's not so much a Black v White issue as it is a gender issue. It's much easier to pit two races against one another.
  16. I am the person minorities hate the most. White Male and I don't see color on people at all. I am willing to treat them EQUAL, but not SPECIAL. Since I don't want to treat them special, they call me a racist. BET, NAACP, AA, making NFL teams interview a black for every coach job is not equal, it is SPECIAL treatment. And frankly its BS. Differences in race and ethnicity should be celebrated not ignored. As far as the NFL requiring Black candidates to be interviewed, what's sad is it seems to be necessary. Before the policy was in place, we simply weren't being considered for the position regardless of qualifications.
  17. I agree. My point is that the black community does not lift themselves up by their bootstraps. They want and demand special treatment just because of their skin color. It's NOT just skin color. There's a history that accompanies being Black in the US. This is not a simple discussion.
  18. The black community creates a lot of the problems for themselves. Why is there BET? Why is there JET magazine? Why does the NAACP exist? Why does the WB only play programs with Black actors? They create a segregated environment for themselves. What happened years ago cannot be changed and it is about time that it is left in the past. As long as the black community is living in the past and allowing jackasses like sharpton and jackson to represent them then they will not be able to move forward. Black people make skin color an issue, not white people. Why are you bothered by BET? It's owned by Viacom which certaintly isn't comprised of Black people. Is JET magazine a threat to you? JET's main purpose is entertainment. Getting upset about JET is tantamount to getting upset about Sixteen Magazine. As far as the NAACP goes you have to take into consideration when it was founded and what the social climate was then. It continues to exist because some of the same concerns need to be addressed and it's easier to do that via a platform like the NAACP. "Smallville," "Jack and Bobby," "Gilmore Girls," "Blue Collar TV," "One Tree Hill," "What I Like About You..." all WB shows and there are no Black actors in leading roles.
  19. A college advisor of mine was a long time surgeon at Grady hospital in Atlanta. He retired and became a professor at my college. I bumped into him at a restaurant with a friend of mine who was interviewing for a residency at Grady and we all sat and talked. He told us about a 30+ year old practice of experimenting on "only Black" homeless, chiefly men. The examples he gave us ranged from intentional infection with the intent of determining the effectiveness of new treatments to correctly diagnosing a health issue and providing a placebo while informing the patient otherwise. While I was working in LA I spent some time with kids from high crime rate areas (specifially and area known as "The Jungle." The scenes in Training Day in the projects were shot there). A few of them told me about trains that would stop and sit for days at a time full of alcohol and guns. As soon as most of the stuff found its way off the cars the train woudl disappear. I listened but didn't believe because the stories seemed sooooo far fetched. One of the last times I went back one of the kid's mothers showed me one of the alleged trains as it coasted to a stop. I sat and watched for hours and waited for something to happen. She could tell I didn't believe her so she walked over to one of the cars, opened the door, hopped inside and trotted back a few minutes later with three revolvers and a bottle of "wild irish rose."
  20. To this day I think AIDS is something that might have gotten out of a lab, but not on purpose. Agreed. Something like that didn't naturally evolve.
  21. That is an amazing idea. I wonder why no one ever thought of it before. It must be wonderful to be so wh...err I mean right all the time Oh Boo Hoo. Once again, these are perfect examples of just complaining about a situation instead of doing something about it. Are you telling me that every low income person lives in a "hazardous" area? Bullshit. "Desire" alone won't change anything and AGAIN, it's not that simple. It's very easy to look at things from your own perspective; we all do so. What's difficult is looking at something from someone else's perspective and understanding it. Having worked with kids from "hazardous" areas in Atlanta, and LA the term refers to more than simply the quality of the drinking water. It actually refers to the quality of life. As far as "complaining" goes, you have to diagnose and discuss a problem before you can treat it.
  22. We don't and it's really not that simple.
