Cooper had some parachute experience but being in his 40s he had long since stopped being a military paratrooper, if he ever was one. And since Cooper shows no signs of being a regular recreational skydiver how does he prepare? He checked cards, popped reserves, picked the newer chute, put on his chute easy and jumps from jet. This guy prepared some, he wasn’t just going on 25 year old memories from his military days (if he ever had those). All of this reads to me like a guy who was either familiar with military jumping OR hung around people familiar with military jumping, and who went to a jump center to brush up before the skyjacking. The brush up would help him with putting on the chute and his jump but it wouldn’t change his baked-in vocabulary. Can I prove any of that…hell no. But it makes sense with the evidence at hand.

Let's just see how laughable it is... Tina, said she didn't see Cooper's face.. Flo, picked out KK5-1 suggested changes but NOT his big nose.. Alice said "nose small"... the only witness to say that in their interviews. So, who influenced sketch A's tiny nose.. Alice Woops,, Big nose picked by Flo....

Aren't You Glad You Voted For Trump

Hi Bill, Me thinks you ask too much. Jerry Baumchen -
But he claims that he's only 215! Surely he wouldn't lie.

You really have to start thinking for yourself, and stop copy-and-pasting from right wing websites. There's a whole world of reality out there for you to discover.

Nope no blood thinners.

1) I’m not coaching Nicky. 2) He isn’t my partner. My only partner is lovely and she’s much better looking than him!

We don’t have ANYTHING in the files from their session with Rose. Literally NOTHING. To claim that Alice’s description from Nov 25th of Cooper having a small nose is the sole influence for the nose of the sketch is quite preposterous. Are you really suggesting that Roy Rose just picked some random small nose because of something that Alice said to an FBI agent two days earlier? Do you really think the girls just sat there mute and stone faced offering nothing while Rose drew it? "Flo and Tina, I don't need your assistance on shaping his nose. I have this statement from Alice Hancock two days ago that described the hijacker as having a small nose, so I'm just going to roll with that." "Well, Mr. Rose, I'm remembering the nose looking a little more like..." "Silence, Tina! Eyewitnesses assisting sketch artists are to be seen and not heard. In fact, you all can just go back to your apartments or your boyfriends or whatever since I'm going to rely solely on a statement that one of you made two days ago to shape this hijacker's nose. Be gone!"

Well, actually I did point that out someplace. I was saying that the only people who would’ve used a “combo” in the WWII era would have been paratroopers. I said the only other parachutes used by anyone were backpacks, seat packs, and the chest packs for air crew. My point was that, even if they were being lazy and describing their mains and reserves as “fronts and backs”, the only people who would’ve even had personal experience describing such a setup were paratroopers. H wasn’t a paratrooper. So why would we assume that he picked this up from the military as opposed to him or Cooper just describing what they wanted in the most basic sense? In my personal opinion (obviously Fly feels differently and has the right to feel differently), “backs and fronts” is simply too generic of a phrase for me to derive any sort of conclusion from it aside from it being a pretty clear indicator that he wasn’t a recreational skydiver. As I’ve said, most everyone here already believes C’s parachute experience came from the military. So digging too deep into generic phraseology is an unnecessary step.

Cool dual function device I guess. I don't know anything about them, or the precise situations & arrhythmias where they might be used. But I am curious: Are you on blood thinners or not with that? Some doctors don't like blood thinners combined with active sports at all, since the chance of major trauma is higher than just driving a car, and blood thinners elevate the risk of bleeding to death in an accident.

I tend to agree. What seems clear to me is Cooper put on a chute almost immediately upon receiving the chutes. This lead Carr to believe he intended to jump immediately near SEA. But, the door is not open and stair released for him to jump at all. More time is going to be consumed. His first opportunity now will be somewhere south of SEA perhaps closed to Vancouver. And indeed that is where he jumps. .... which makes me wonder if he ever intended to jump somewhere further south, at all ? All of these options will require Cooper to travel some distance on foot. Unless he can contact some accomplice, or steal a car or boat or small plane ??? He either must travel or hunker down.

I found that the military did use cards for bailout and reserves... They also use a card for chute expiry date.. Mains??
-
What he said ^^. Thems is the regs. In Cooper's day I think it was rare for someone other than the jumper to pack their main, other than for students. These days it's common to have packers on the dz to pack your main, It's kind of a chore, many people prefer to pay to have it done. But no, mains don't have cards. In the military, if a team of 'riggers' pack a bunch of paratroop rigs, I'm guessing they keep logbooks of who packs what (even mains) in case there's an incident.

Yes, I'm going to follow doctor's recommendations. Just got an "implantable cardioverter-defibrillator" a week sgo. Doc says no jumping for the rest of this year and here in Alberta the season ends about Novemeber 1st. He says we'll see the data from the ICD over winter and make a new decision next year, so indeed I may be done. My question.... Is anyone jumping with an ICD?
-
Mains can be packed by: 1. A rigger, OR 2. A person working under the supervision of a rigger, OR 3. The person who will jump that rig. (Ownership is not relevant). Military might be different, but in the sports world, there isn't a packing card for the main. (That would be pointless, time consuming paperwork: a rig might get jumped thousands of times during it's lifetime.)

Surely a pedophile rapist convicted felon knows how to tackle sex crimes. It's been documented and slowly being shown. In the New AmeriKKKa though? Crimes committed by the authoritarian regime are not considered crimes.
-
Reserves and bailout rigs are considered emergency parachutes and require a licensed rigger and card.. Mains do not require a card,,, can be packed by owner.. However, it is not clear that mains don't ever get a card... if packed by a licensed rigger.. I just don't know the answer to this.. Do mains never get a card or is it optional??

Trump doesn't cheat at golf. He loses interest after 8-9 strokes and his dementia results in a score of one under par on his scorecard. Trump deserves a holiday after working so hard to bring down inflation and grocery prices.
-
What analogy? Anyway, it's always amusing when the modern racists claim they're not racist, they just oppose the modern civil rights movement that's become downright Marxist and Martin Luther King would be ashamed of them! But can anyone remember what the racist segregationists of the 50's and 60's said about Dr King? Oh yeah... they called him a Marxist. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.
-
So what makes you think Trump in his first term did a worse job at tackling child sex crime than Obama did? What makes you think Trump now is doing a better job?
-
Yes. I don't think we can determine what he knew. If he knows gear and knows those are bailout rigs, he might be checking the cards to determine what kind and size of canopies are inside. If he doesn't know gear, he might just be checking them over and come across the cards.
-
Do I have it correct that mains don’t have a packing card because packing cards are for reserves? Cooper asked for fronts and backs and checked the backs for packing cards. Isn’t the logical conclusion he either knew the backs he got were bailout rigs (reserves) and therefore would have packing cards or he thought the backs he got were mains and didn’t know mains don’t have packing cards but he just thought some chutes have cards from his limited experience?
