  1. Why would you go back to a bad DZ? Tbh I used to think the first DZ I went to was the best thing in the universe ever..... Then I was invited to somewhere else for a weekend. Then I saw just how sucky my old DZ happened to be. The new DZ owner had a go at me for going to the old place. And looking back at it even though I wasn't happy with this. I can see he was right.... The old place I jumped at still uses ROUND canopies. Well for the reserves anyway which means super low wind limits.
  2. I like this place a lot. I have jumped at their southern competitor and there is massive rivalry between the two dropzones. And in all honesty I have to say this one is the better one for various reasons: They use a PAC750 meaning everybody gets to sit on the benches rather than on the floor or sit on top of each other as at the other place. Although it is slightly slower to altitude its less of a problem as the plane is much less cramped and much much more spacious. This does cut two ways though as having a 16 slot plane means lift turn round is not as fast as I would like as they have to manifest a lot of people. They have dedicated tandem instructors and only three of them max. Each with a camera means 9 slots. Leaving 7 slots completely free to have some fun jumps a couple of three ways. Cheaper jump tickets, bought enblock the kit hire and jump tickets are a fraction cheaper than the £20-£22 standard elsewhere. Though there are bad points to Cark though: It is very hard to get to as you have to come off the motorway and around various towns and villages to get anywhere near the airfield. Its coastal so pretty windy at times. The kit hire is extremely limited.
  3. Did part of my RAPS here, simply got sick of coming and sitting around due to winds or tandems taking priority. They use round reserves which mean the wind limits are stupidly low, meaning you never get any jumps in. I went elsehere (Langar) where they used square square rigs and got to Cat 8 PDQ!
