  1. And such a great day it is!! Same as mine.. March 7, Except I'll be turning 17... Which kinda seems really old.
  2. jumpy

    Fantasy rig?

don't forget to get the auto packer with that spectre! ahhhh now wouldn't that be sweet.. or some kind of robotic packer.. packers could buy them.. get paid and not do any of the work.. once you broke even you'd be sweet..lol alright i'm tired!!
  3. ...when i'm looking through his bedroom window at night, and...
  4. Both are good in my opinion. I did static line and had no problems with the programs. No serios issues anyway. AFF kinda seems more logical now after i'm done but thats IF the student can handle it. Anyway having not started on AFF i cannot compair the two from a novices point of view.
  5. Yeah that seems pretty accurate actually. Just remembered someone telling me once that a skydiver accelerates at 18 ft/s/s so that seems bout right.. the first 5 seconds is around 500 feet? So on that basis you'd have to be cutaway by 1200 ft for the cypres to take effect.
  6. Exactly. If you cutaway at say 800 ft. I doubt that in 50 ft you could accelerate last enough for the reserve to deploy. however should never to relied appon and be a backup only. On a side note does anyone know the height, approximately, someone would have to fall to get to cypress activation speed?
  7. The same in Australia. It used to be that you could not wear an alti on on jumps shorter then 10 sec but not anymore i don't think.
  8. lol! "and the cresco full of skydivers in cleared to taxy round in circles for the next hour..."
  9. Did quite a bit of research into those little 'pocket' style camera's and dude they ain't worth it! A 2 megapixel camera is the bare minimum you need to have enough quality to print pictures. Do what everyone above says and buy a sony. Thats what I decided to do when i get the money that is..
  10. Thats mad fun! You look down and you realise how fast your honkin it. Hmmmmm think of the distance you could cover with those downwind speeds WITH a wingsuit
  11. That is one mad assed rig!! Nice
  12. Somewere around the 15 knots range. I still just a student 228 so at that i'm basicaly going straight down. I've had jumps goin backward were i landed in a field with powerlines on two sides and a dam behind me, damn that was fun.. lol
  13. I've come to find that as well. He even asked how we get used to not breathing for so long and all this The thing that shits me the most bout those dudes is that they are right even though i HAVE breathed in freefall its 'impossible'
  14. Dude! Doesn't the textbook you got that from have the answer in the back?!? Ahh the answers section my savior for Physics
  15. Yes, someone stepping on my lines while I'm packing is a "pet-peve" of mine and yes, I agree it isn't the best thing in the world for the lines either as far as wear goes. Weird thing is though I'm fairly tolerant of it if its another skydiver, especially if its one of my buds, and its plainly an accident... heck, how many of us have done it... snagged someone's lines by mistake. However, something I'm not particularly proud of... ... on the other hand if its a whuffo or worse yet... the kids or dog of some poor whuffo, I've been known to blow them some serious sh*t over stepping on lines. Think i'd be the same. Wuffo did it.. crack it. Skydiver.. yeah fine it was an accident..
  16. Ahh yeah it is sad.. dogs are such good companions you don't won't to see them go
  17. lol! nah its a mini lassy. cutest little dog in the world but she's getting old now.. almost 11 now yeah i wanna bulldog! there mad dogs.. there just small and chubby i wish i could have two dogs so bad! i love all dogs! their the madest animals in the world
  18. My dog can win that battle hands down! lol In fact its a half an hour battle to get her to take the ball! You try throwing it and she just looks at you like "you want me to get up and get the ball? ha! if i wait long enough you'll get it so what's the point "
  19. Anyone seen that japanses show 'Bonzai'? These two midget's raced up a basketballer!
  20. I used to rockclimb as a kid but not really anymore. I'd say any flexibility that i gained from that helps i guess but not sure really. I don't think that you can say any one sport helps with skydiving skills because i reckon each person, even though they use the same principle, effectively work in there own way. A light person's gotta be damn flexible to be able to arch enough to stay down with the majority but someone that has a natural fast speed may need to work on another aspect of their flying. ^Just my 0.02 cents (Although it doesn't really make sence ) lol
  21. Alright I'm sorry for these families loss' but I think that what they are doing is wrong. If the pair that killed there loved ones had money they would undoutbly be looking for there money there. They are entitled to retrobution which is what the trial should provide but they are not entitled to destroy a company that has done nothing directly to them. I do not understand how they can think "well i don't care if these people had nothing to do with the crime, i can get there money so i don't see why i shouldn't"
  22. Had a ride in a Citation at work experience That thing is bad ass! The dude who owned it decided he wanted to learn how to fly so bought one Apparently its like 3 mil but damn sweet
  23. When I was 5 in kinder I picked a flower for a girl and pecked her on the cheeck. She went and dobed on me Ran into her a little while ago and damn did I have good tastes back then!!!
  24. Best scene of all time! The teachers decide to go on strike and they put and announcment over the PA system. All the teachers just run out and the little girls leaft hanging in the gym and she goes. "hewoooo? Mrs. Pummelhorse? I'd like to get dowwn now......" Its classic every time!
