32 years ago when i asked my Father in law if he would approve of me marrying his daughter he asked me to get married in the Catholic church. We had to take classes from a Nun twice a week for 6 months to learn how to live the married life before they would perform the ceremony. I found it odd to be instructed by someone that was never married on how to be married. You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

Exactly my point...and why I went with an ultra lightweight snubby smith wheelgun. It's not my first choice if heading to the OK Corral, but I never go there anyway. Like my car keys & pocket knife, it's just something I take along...throw it in my pocket or use an inside the pants, belt clip holster, and not make a big production out of it. I'm a fairly big person, but still - the big bore mini-autos just get to be a burden to carry all day/every day. Hurt bending or twisting sometimes, pinch getting in & out of a car...I'm not an undercover LEO, so in my daily routine I'm not intentionally putting myself in hazardous situations... I can carry one of the bigger guns if it is convenient but the little stubby I can throw in my pocket or IWB with a t-shirt. Plus being a good wheel gun I know it's gonna go boom when i pull the trigger. Like many here have said the best option is one you will carry. My Uncle in Michigan was using a wind generator to power his home up until a few years ago, He just got to old and arthritic to be able to maintain it. He lived pretty much off the grid for several decades. He bought a bunch of batteries from a golf course that was replacing all of their golf cart batteries and built himself a 12 volt system to run his house. He had wood stoves for heat in the winter. They grew there own vegetables and raised livestock to eat and sell for cash. Supplemented by hunting. It just took a lot of work and as he got older he found it to hard to maintain. Small point of terminology. They aren't "free." The are now required to be "covered" or "included," but not actually "free." Free for the end user. And while I patiently wait for the first grandmother to have the "plug" pulled on her, I wonder how many people will have colonoscopies and mammograms, who previously could not, and now will have their life saved because of it. on my pre-ACA plan colonoscopies were "covered" I do not consider it "free" when i send them $350.. a month YMMV You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

In my experience, the pilots are often better at spotting than the jumpers. That would be the "Been at the DZ flying jumpers since they were jumping rounds" pilots, not the "Ink still wet on the Commercial ticket" pilots. The smart jumpers would get with the pilot and discuss where they both thought the spot would be. The smart newer jumpers would do more listening than talking in those discussions. yes this ^ also when you get a new pilot at the DZ work with them to help them get it figured out. Good communication goes a long way You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

Collections can be what get you in trouble. Collectable dolls made a run thru our family. I also gave a pretty big box of beanie babies to charity. I hope they can use them. They certainly didn't skyrocket in value as so many claimed they would. I still have a fair collection of firearms, but they all fit in one safe and certainly hold their value. Besides, those all get trips to the range.

It is amazing how much "stuff" you can collect over the years. I finally convinced my wife to clean out our storage area. Paying a monthly bill to store things we nave not touched in years was grinding my ass. She does not like to throw anything out. We gave a lot to the local charity and some to family and friends. Now if I can just keep her from starting a new collection... You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

Not to highjack the thread, but is there a handy gadget or program that you know of that makes the process easier? I have a bunch of albums I'd like to throw away because they take up so much room. I'm sure the albums were your Father's you are way to young to have vinyl albums of your own. You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!
