I get your point Turtle. Just like the lynching comment the other day. Turns out the people bitching about it had said the same thing in the past. And just because you do not like a certain pol or a certain policy does not mean you automatically are a supporter of the other side.

or the poor kids once they became politicians and that's how they became rich

Maybe getting away with the small things leads you to believe you can get away with the bigger things.

or sometimes we take turns with Russia in fucking up a region

If the pickup comes out at the price they are floating now they will be really competitive. And with a 400-500 mile range they might be a good option for a work truck. https://insideevs.com/reviews/364925/tesla-pickup-truck-price-specs-more/

I did some research after that post. Seems Turkey was brought in during the cold war to have more allies in the region. Not sure they still should be a member. Seems like we may be fighting against our own weapons. This is not the first time we gave/sold weapons to another country that ended up being used against us. I can see wanting to get out of Syria but once again we create a situation and bail out with it more fucked up than when we got there.
-
I was wondering about that. Isn't Turkey a NATO ally? Not that this administration has really been shown to give a shit about NATO but don't we have some kind of obligation to Turkey?? edited to add: maybe I should be asking htis in a different thread??

the article above was from CNN in an NBC article she is quoted as saying " said she believes one candidate is "the favorite of the Russians." That seems like a more reasonable statement. I know there is proof that they tried to help Jill Stein in 2016.
-
maybe I was reading more into it but when she says they are "grooming" a candidate I would think the candidate would have to be involved in the process?? "I'm not making any predictions, but I think they've got their eye on somebody who is currently in the Democratic primary and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate," Clinton said
-
Hardly seems like a big enough sampling for the conclusions they've come to.

I believe you got it correct and I learned what "no true Scotsman" means. Thank you. I have run into this before. I had a friend that was always preaching to me. He told me once that I must truly believe in Jesus because I am a nice person and helped other people along the way. No matter how many times I told him I did not believe in his religion. The message I got was for him no one cold be moral except through faith in a supreme being. The last straw was when he was at my house and I had the daily paper sitting on the table and the top story was something about the foster care system in Florida deciding if gays should be allowed to be foster parents. His tirade about turning kids gay, blah blah blah really showed how much hate he has in his heart. So I pointed out what good parents my lesbian friends are and how great their kids turned out and I cut ties.

I had to google that https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_true_Scotsman

I guess just seems like a crazy accusation to make. Especially at people in her own political party.

Hillary Clinton in a new interview appeared to float a conspiracy theory that the Russians are “grooming” Hawaii congresswoman and Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard to be a third-party candidate in 2020, while claiming 2016 Green Party nominee Jill Stein is "also" a Russian asset. Pretty serious accusation. "That’s assuming Jill Stein will give it up, which she might not because she’s also a Russian asset." Seems like she is floating a conspiracy theory to further some political agenda. At least she didn't accuse her of operating a pedophile ring out of a pizzeria.

Climate Change Has been a Routine Scare Tactic Since the 1930s

we were in Peru a few weeks ago and I found out there are glaciers there also. Then I get home and see a short blurb in our local paper saying they expect the glaciers in Peru to be gone within 2 decades. I guess I should be glad we got to see them before they are gone. -
from the article "The president’s allusions to violence are palpably dangerous. They will give cover to crazies who crave violence, as other intemperate words of his have done." This right here is the really scary part. There are plenty of nut jobs out there who will think they are defending the president by answering his calls for violence.

when has that ever stopped the U.S.

LOve You JimMy get home soon your grand kids need you and your garden needs weeding -
Thanks Bill. I know battery technology is getting better and better. I can see that on a small scale in the tools we use everyday. We used to have to lug around a gernator now we have drills that will wofk all day on a couple of batteries.
-
Does that mean it's more efficient on a smaller scale? The Texas town experiment looks like it did not work out how they expected. It seems that large scale distribution and storage are the expensive/complicated parts of the equation.

The Family - a very interesting and disturbing series.

talk about tightening up gun laws and people will point out the 2nd and then try to make laws based on religious beliefs and totally ignore the 1st yep hypocrisy at it's finest -
definitely a new bike that S&S of Normiss is freakin fast. I went riding with Mark and Chuck Blue. Chuck has the S & S 116 in his chopper and Mark has the 124 in his Iron Horse and there I was with my little ol HD 103. Definitely had engine envy.
