+1 Letting the fools sit there in a one-sided stand-off with nobody. It just makes them material for the late-night comedians. This is orders of magnitude better than another Waco or Ruby Ridge situation. I think this is the best option. No way you want another Ruby Ridge. I don't know why Ammon Bundy was not arrested at the town meeting a few days ago. Maybe they made a deal so he could attend the meeting without threat of arrest?? Oregon's governor blasted the federal government's response to the occupation of a wildlife refuge by a group of armed men, saying the situation was "absolutely intolerable" and costing the state about $100,000 a week. this sounds like a good reason to get the situation resolved ASAP You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early! -

So you can't really point to Germany and say "look what's going to happen in the U.S. if we let all these refugees in." It is a totally different situation here. Albeit with a different set of problems/challenges with integration. You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

I think it was the Daily Show that suggested that the dildos were so that the militia guys could go fuck themselves. And on a more serious note: It seems like the militia has little or no regard for Native artifacts. How about your local newspapers? I get the Orlando Sentinel every day. It's owned by the Tribune publishing company. Seems to be pretty unbiased possibly a slightly conservative slant. (It is Florida after all.) But I like getting the paper delivered to the house every morning. Plus they have comics, Sudoku and on Sunday the NYT crossword puzzle.

the Economist looks to be a good place to get news. I think I am going with NPR BBC and The Economist for a good mix of articles. Good point about foreign news sources not having the Dem Repub bias. Also interesting to see how the rest of the world views what is happening in the U.S. You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

According to Business Insider the BBC is on the top of the list for most trusted news outlet across all ideological groups. Looks like PBS is the most trusted U.S. news source. It's funny looking at this chart the "consistently conservative" do not seem to trust any news sources except Limbaugh, Hannity and Beck. The Wall Street Journal seems to be the only one that everyone trusts. You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

A topic brought up in another thread yesterday. In searching the web on this topic I found this. I do not know anything about the author but I found it interesting. Like this comment "Moreover, we, as humans, seem to naturally default to those areas that we find comfort in—places of camaraderie, communion, self-affirmation and self-improvement." But if we only use the sources that cater to our preconceived ideas we can never understand the other side of the story. Here is what he says about AlterNet “NO GOVERNMENT, CORPORATE OR ADVERTISING $$$,”. Which (as pointed out by Turtle yesterday) seems to be a good criteria for impartial reporting. So my question is where do you go for 'fair and balanced" news? You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!
