Are whuffos really that stupid, or is it just me?
kansasskydiver replied to kansasskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Ok hey guys, some of you are taking this TOTALLY the wrong way. The only reason I put the word whuffos in there was to show that it was someone who had never jumped. If I had put "are people really this stupid" I would have meant the same thing. I'm not complaining about people asking questions, but rather disturbed about people wanting to "bend the rules" and put themselve and my club at risk. As to the comment about the drinking age, ok... So tell your teenage son or daughter to walk into a bar and ask if it's ok to drink. Same thing... So our dz follows the rules, we're just a small college club, we can't risk taking chances and I for one aren't going to put a student in the air knowing that they are exceeding the TSO of the reserve. Once they get their license and they are making their own decissions, then that is up to them, but while they're under my supervision I won't allow for cutting corners. -
yeah i'm leaving in 18.5 hours!!!!!!!! Work is gonna suck tomorrow!!!!

I've got a couple goods ones :) Last year when I was flying to FL there was a little ol lady sitting next to me. She never said a word, just sat there and read over here flight itenerary over and over again. Finally as we landed I started to talk to the lady. btw the landing was rather rough for my liking... I said to the lady "Wow, that was kinda rough landing and I'm not used to landing in planes the way it is" She responds in the cutests old lady voice, with no expression on her face and very slowly "You mean we landed? I thought we got shot down" At this point I didn't know what to say... Flying to Brazil we had my gf's b-day party on the plane. Flight attendant brought us a bottle of champaign at midnight and we celebrated in style! I was pretty trashed lol Most exciting thing yet though was joining the mile high club in the bathroom of a Fokker 100 hahaha just couldn't resist when you're flying a plane like that

Read the quote below... "To sign up for a jump class and make a skydive you must not weigh more than 220 lbs and be of 18 years or older. These restrictions have been implied by USPA and the FAA as safety measures. By checking the box below, you are stating that you DO NOT exceed the maximum weight limit (220 lbs), are at least 18 years of age the day of jumping, and understand that your deposit WILL NOT be refunded if your statement is inaccurate. If we feel the information you have provided is inaccurate, we do have the right to request proper identification as well as request that you are weighed prior to jumping. There are no exceptions as they are RULES that our Drop Zone must comply with set by the manufacturer of the equipment. Safety is our number one concern and cutting corners or making exceptions is not the way to go. Sorry NO EXCEPTIONS, PERIOD!!!" Now, this is the promt that our students read before signing-up for a class online... So why is it some kid just emailed me and asked if him weighing 235 lbs was a recommendation or just a strict rule he could break? HELLO?!?!?! lol today has been stupid whuffo day for me sorry. "Umm how much is a skydive and when do I sign-up for a class?" Hmmm, well you found my email address, how about you clikc on the link that says PRICES maybe? grrrr sometimes just sometimes I wonder how some of our kids get into college -
Ok, this is shaping up to my worst week in a long time.
kansasskydiver replied to pilotdave's topic in The Bonfire
I still say we all chip in and get it back up. We all enjoy the site and I don't think it's fair for Dave to lose the money. You could do like a featured members part or something where the members who donate can put their videos, like a sub category like in BASE. If I set up a paypal account for Dave, would anyone chip in -

I myself would be willing to chip in to help pay for your losses. Do you have a paypal account I can donate some money to? I think you worked hard and the site was excellent! Let us know if there is anything we can do to get it back up and running! -

ok i'm getting pissed now, first my car wreck......
kansasskydiver replied to skygod7777's topic in The Bonfire
hahah that's funny... you know they don't cover anything unless it was PART of or ATTACHED to your car. I had my stereo and a 300 cd's stolen from my car and they wouldn't cover it. Your parents homeowners insurance will, usually with a $500-$1000 deductable though
