I know what you mean about the landing. That is the part I think about the most. Exiting, freefall, and pulling the ripcord are no problem, but my next jump will be just me under that canopy for the first time. I can't wait, but I do have some trepidation. I've wanted to do this since I was a teenager - I am now 55 and just finished my fourth tandem. In a couple of weeks I get to start AFP. Raising three grandkids, I can't afford to go whole hog, but by golly, I'm gonna do all I can and I can't believe I waited so long to realize this dream. Go for it! I second the opinion to try a tandem. This gives you the experience of the ride to altitude, exiting (although not like you will in AFF), freefall, canopy ride, and a landing. Again, it will be different by yourself, but this gives you a good taste - and really sets the hook! I intend to live forever -- so far, so good.

A topic near and dear to my heart. I love ice cream. I have three ice cream recipe books and three ice cream freezers. I make the stuff all summer long. I have a great Rum Raisin recipe, but my favorite homemade flavor is fresh peach (but only if the peaches are nice and sweet). I like Schwan's Peaches N' Cream.
