  1. I didn't get my helmet's chin strap done up all the way on my 2nd jump off the day, so it was pulling and trying to come off most of the jump, and when I threw the PC (first jump on a throwout rig!) it finally came off. I looked up and watched it go, and thought a couple seconds later "Shit, I should have fabric by now", turns out I was so distracted by the helmet fiasco, I never let go of the PC! Tossed it, and got a clean opening.. Ending up with (yet another) stand up landing though, so it ended well. No sign of the helmet after a 45 minute search though. Kidnapped by angels, no doubt. cavete terrae.
  2. How many G's do you have to be pushing to have that happen?! cavete terrae.

Did that file I sent you work? I realised you might not have the video software to play it.. cavete terrae.

I'm going to hit 10 tomorrow If all goes well, I'll hit 15, too cavete terrae.
  5. Looks like we're on for tomorrow, see ya there! cavete terrae.
  6. I read it when I was doing all my research like 3 years ago, didn't get 99% of the jokes. Re-read it today (got it in an email from dad..) "Your friends think it's funny to, when you are sleeping, blow a fan in your face and set a beeper off near your ear." I actually laughed out loud when I read that one, it makes sense now! cavete terrae.
  7. I forgot about that part...we sleep good too after a great day of jump-jivin! Oh man, I sleep like a BABY on post-jump evenings, and I'm always in a good mood for a couple days afterwards. Then it's back to "ok, good mood has worn off. I need air time" cavete terrae.
  8. Indeed it is :) What I find really interesting is how the ADHD kids, like myself, aren't "on a high" afterwards like the normally-wired people. I'm in an excellent mood, but I get veeeeerrrrrrrrry calm afterwards. Theories state that it's because of our neurotransmitter deficiencies. cavete terrae.
  9. I love it because it's the one thing I can do where it's the only thing that matters. As soon as that rig is on my back, it's the only thing that gets brain time. cavete terrae.
  10. pfff...I don't drink, I don't do drugs, I'm about as tame as a skydiver can get You'll at least INTRODUCE me, right? cavete terrae.
  11. You say that like I'm old You don't trust me? cavete terrae.
  12. Tell me more about your sister But yeah, the more I think about it, the more likely I think it'll be that we'll jump Sunday. I can't see the people who are staffing on Saturday wanting to drive all the way to the boogie afterwards and only get to jump one day down there. cavete terrae.
  13. Understandable. I've done the no-more-heartbeat trick, but I was too young to remember it or have it affect me really. edit: Between your pic and your sig, you're trying to get me all randy on a lonely Friday, aren't you? cavete terrae.
  14. Curious to see what some people have been through... I think my scariest moment was one of two: 13 years old, screaming down the mountain at Steamboat, lost an edge on some ice, and starting sliding toward the trees at a VERY high speed. Thought I was gonna die, got away with it with "only" a blown out ACL and MCL. Last summer, I was driving with my at-the-time girlfriend, taking an offramp at a good clip, outside rear tyre blew, and the car went completely sideways. I saved it without too much trouble, but I was scared that if I lost it, she might get hurt cavete terrae.
  15. Can't post everything about something I don't have. cavete terrae.
  16. Stood up jumps 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Slipped on wet grass on #2 and ended up on my arse. cavete terrae.
  17. Ooh ooh, I may not be screwed after all. There's an FJC tomorrow, and so there'll be staff there for that... and if they can't jump tomorrow, which looks like it'll be the case, I bet they'll wanna do it Sunday. Perfect! cavete terrae.
  18. Conditions for sunday look great... about sixty degrees on the ground, 5mph wind, clouds only above 12k. First time in 3 weeks I'll have been able to jump, becaus of constant weather holds. But I might not be jumping, because according to an email I got: "I think many people are going to Brooklyn, IA, for the Otter boogie this weekend." No staff = no jumping. cavete terrae.
