Someone needs to come up with a "hall of shame" style webpage that puts the spotlight on any company that puts customers through call center hell. People could report how long they were on hold, how tough it was to get to the right person, and so on. What steams me about call centers (at least the dysfunctional ones) is the fact that the people you get to talk to aren't the ones responsible for your problem, nor are they the ones who designed the klunky system that kept you on hold for a half hour. The bastards behind for the mess are out of our reach. My blog with the skydiving duck cartoons.

I still find free fall rather surreal. But it's not the same kind of light-headed surreal I might feel if I were dreaming or waking up being anesthetized. It's more of a "Wow, this is amazing" surreal where I'm tuned into what's going on. My blog with the skydiving duck cartoons.

I can't say I have a favorite- but that spooky, spooky T.S. Eliot poem "The Waste Land" has a few parts that remind me of skydiving: And I was frightened. He said, Marie, Marie, hold on tight. When I did my first tandem (out of a Cessna 182), I defiantly felt it. I'd heard earlier that "you don't really feel like you're falling" so it surprised me (and freaked me out!) I remember thinking "What have I gotten myself into!?" It probably only lasted five seconds or so. I noticed it a little on my second tandem (backflip out of an otter). By my AFF jumps it was gone. Weird. I wonder how much of the perception is psychological? My blog with the skydiving duck cartoons.
