Jumping with a ruptured ear drum.

The ear specialist said i'd be ok. Family doctor said i'd be ok as well. I made jumps. Im just giving input on my own post. IF any one feels there is a risk and they have a ruptured ear drum they will make their own decision if they will jump or not. Because the pressure equalizes since there is a hole in the ear. Ive made 20 jumps since i did it and most of those were before it healed. Wasnt a bad decision and im glad i did make the decision to jump. if it doesnt hurt after only going to 3k work your way up till you hit 10k. if it still doesnt hurt.... go for it Maytown Sport Parachute Club Never turn your back on a charging turtle. -

Go with a Honda. They are reliable and run forever plus have a decent amount of space. for what you are looking for id recommend a Honda Fit. Posted from faulkner honda harrisburg pa Maytown Sport Parachute Club Never turn your back on a charging turtle.

If you blew your ear drum. Go ahead and jump. The pressure equalizes with the hole in your ear drum and causes no problems. I jump 3 days after i belw mine and it was fine. If its not from a rupture then do jump go to a doctor and see if he clears you for it. Maytown Sport Parachute Club Never turn your back on a charging turtle.

I loved this canopy for a while. I jumped a 160 and didn't mind it, never noticed its flaring problems. I downsized to a 135 and what can I say, I really dislike the flaring potientional on the one I'm using now. Its a bit worn and has about 800-1000 jumps on it. Besides the flaring issue I'm having with this canopy and the all well known harder openings of a triathlon, its a decent canopy. If you intend to get one stick with the bigger sized ones and newer ones.

Haha good choice sterny. I did the same thing and had no trouble. My doctor is still blown away that it didnt re-rupture but in my mind the pressure balancing makes perfect sense. Maytown Sport Parachute Club Never turn your back on a charging turtle. -
Skydiving after a tatto

i have 2 tattoos, one on each shoulder blade. I got them both in the am and was jumping by noon. If you get them you will be fine to jump. Just a warning if anything on your rig can rub it during deployment, be ready for pain Maytown Sport Parachute Club Never turn your back on a charging turtle. -

Since there is a hole in the ear drum, it self equalizes. hop and pop from 5k to see if it was alright. Sit fly from 10k. Great weekend. thanks for the advice though Maytown Sport Parachute Club Never turn your back on a charging turtle. -

Jumping with a ruptured ear drum.
freefallfrom10k replied to freefallfrom10k's topic in Safety and Training
Hey I have a random question for anyone who is willing to give their input. Has anyone ever jumped with a ruptured ear drum. I ruptured mine on Monday, June 27th, in swimming related mishap. I was intending on jumping on Saturday, July 2nd. I was wondering if anyone knew the health risks of jumping with a ruptured ear drum? i have done some research and have heard that it should be safe as long as you can balance your ears (closing your mouth and nose and blowing air through your ears) with very little to no discomfort you should be alright. I'm not worried about noise since i am intending on wearing an ear plug in the injured ear. Any ideas if i should be alright to jump?
