    Just happened to coincide with the election of a Stephen Harper, a conservative leader and since then the conservatives taking over the house of commons and repealing many of the previous liberal policies, hell they even opted out of the freaking Kyoto protocol and have a much more aggressive energy exploration and export policy than we do. Their economy is growing and healthy. Compare that with the direction we've been going.     I used to love that game. Where did you get it for Wii? How is it compared to the original? I downloaded it from the wiistore for like 5 bucks I think. So you're okay with that state of affairs? Heck, if the media are so all-fired perfect at picking politicians, all of us citizens should just get out of the way and let them pick the next president. No need for elections, campaigns, and all that nasty expensive stuff. Think of all the time, energy and money we could save. Let's just let newspaper and TV people pick our new leader for us. Fuck no, I am not okay with the way things are now. That's why I'm transitioning from finance into politics this summer, precisely because I'm fed up.     Giving money to the government to hire more people that don't actually produce any goods or services that people need doesn't do anything other than take money away from private companies that do said things.     There has been a continued perception that MItt/Buffet have a 15% income tax rate by many people, that's not true. The 15% figure is from money made on investments. Dividends, cap gains etc. Lower income tax rates to 15% as well to even it. This isn't also how it work for just the "super rich". If we all have 15% more of our own money to save/spend, multiplied by millions of people, thats billions if not trillions of extra money that ends up stimulating companies we purchase from who in turn hire people, I really don't get why that basic concept it rejected or not understood.     I don't think you're an eco-green nazi. But as far as foreign dependence on oil, I agree we should get off it as much as possible. But that means a combination of new energies, PLUS access to our own oil sources which we're not allowed to do because of "green" reasons, even though China/Cuba/Russia are drilling near our own waters. I also agree with using more Nuclear power, but when was the last time a new power plant was approved, much less built? It's another venue to energy independence that's also quashed by the "green" movement.     Um, yeah. That's why I said baseline power should be provided by nuclear. I think electric cars and trucks (charged with said nuclear power) should be the way to go. For aircraft, biofuels are probably a better alternative for the near term future. So while we're transitioning to more expensive forms of energy, other countries that could care less, and produce pollution in such great quantities that it voids our efforts to go "green" will reap the benefits of cheaper energy while America pays the price for feeling good and less guilty?
