Could you please explain this a little more? Jan

GWB signed the Patriot Act before BHO was even a senator. Xkeyscore was introduced under GWB's authority. I don't understand, do you think it's it okay now because BHO is expanding what GWB started? Jan

Here's this website http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/extremes/records/ Year to Date: Jan 1 - Jun 23, 2013 Record high - 5,899 High minimum - 7,886 Low max - 9,328 Low min - 7,349 And let's take a look at how 2012's weather year-to-date turned out for record temps (Oddly, this data doesn't match the data that kallend cited for last year - I'm a couple weeks early and there were more highs and lows on both sides. But not 11:1. Why's the data keep on changing and changing and changing?) Last Year to Date Jan 1 - Jun 23, 2012: High max - 20,025 High min - 17,530 Low max - 3,205 Low min - 2,104 This year's weather in the US is dramatically different from last year's. 13,785 record highs compared to 16,677 record lows. And in this cold year-to-date we've had 5,970 record snows compared to last year's 2,653 record snows to date. And about 750 more days of record percipitation this year (though not as significant, statistically). Feel cold? I was on the fence about this whole thing until I read this science lesson. http://www.middlebury.net/op-ed/global-warming-01.html It seems like it answers everyone's questions. It sure answered mine. It will be interested to see what Bill and Kallend and lawrocket have to say about it. Jan

From what they reported in Canada, Obama got re-elected because conservative voters stayed home in larger numbers than the millions of liberals and moderates who voted for him in 2008 who didn't vote for him in 2012. I'm very skeptical of that - but if you have a source link(s), I'll keep an open mind until I read it/them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2008 Obama got 69,498,516 votes MCain got 59,948,323 Liberals voted 89% to 10% for Obama Moderates voted 60 to 39 for Obama Conservatives voted 78 to 20 for Mcain http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2012 Obama got 65,899,660 Romney got 60,932,152 Liberals voted 86% to 11% for Obama Moderates voted 56 to 41 for Obama Conservatives voted 82 to 17 for Romney So Obama got 3.5 million fewer votes than he got last time and Romney got 1 million more than Mcain, so this shows that I was right about that part, but I can't find the proportion of conservatives who didn't vote but AFAIK what the Canadian media said was that if the conservative voters who didn't vote either time had voted in 2012 Romney would have won. That is one reason for adoption, isn't it? Isn't there a shortage of babies available for adoption in the US? Or do these women just want to kill the innocent baby to get back at their rapist? Jan

Heads up on pilot harassment and warrantless searches by the feds

I don't understand all this talking about the Patriot Act. It is not mentioned in either of the articles. They are about departments of the US government including some that were around before the Patriot acting like general aviation pilots are an enemy and doing things the US constitution supposedly says they cannot do. This concerns me as a jumper, not whether Bush and the Republicns or Obama and the Democrats are the worse facists. Jan -

Anyone can get shot by some one in the back, gun or no gun, it makes no difference if some one already has drawn on you. That fails to address the 2nd part of the fact scenario: that the shooter, despite (presumably) all those armed people on site, was able to walk away. You Americans seem to like shouting so loud so you can be heard over the gunfire, but Andy 908 you should do a little more reasearch before you start shouting. From the story: http://www.cnn.com/2013/02/03/justice/texas-sniper-killed/ Kyle, Littlefield and Routh were three such visitors, arriving together around 3:15 p.m. (4:15 p.m. ET) Saturday and proceeding to a shooting range within the resort's 11,000 acres, Bryant told reporters Sunday. The range is in a "very remote part" of the sprawling complex, Upshaw explained. "So there wasn't anybody anywhere close to that," he said, explaining there are no known witnesses. The first sign something was wrong came when a hunting guide tied to the facility found 38-year-old Kyle and 35-year-old Littlefield -- both unconscious -- around 5 p.m., Bryant said. Jan

This report clears up some of the things, but I also agree with Quade, let's see a coroner report. Jan -
Caucasian Americans For Obama - Can't find the website
bakerjan replied to davjohns's topic in Speakers Corner
You do realize that the website is not "African Americans for Any Guy Who Happens to Be Black", right? Perhaps black Americans share more than just skin color. Perhaps they also share a common history, culture, food, religious ties, etc. Is it okay for them to bond over those things, or is any group of black people getting together for a common cause evidence of racism to you? Perhaps you are right about that but from what I read it dos not apply to Obama. He has no common with American black people, accept for the ones who were raised in Hawaii by white people and Indonesha by Moslems and then went to expensive colleges and universities like Harvard and then went to a church where the pastor hates America. It seems like he thinks American black people will vote for him because his skin is the same, not because he shares anything with them. -
Why are you concerned about why he's concerned? Do you never worry about what happens to other people outside your own borders? Of course, I do. But rarely caring about their weapons And disarmed as we are, we poor little Germans, I just do welcome every decision to ban weapons, wherever that country might be. You should study your own history. I may not remember right but when we studied the Third Reich in school we learned that one of the first things Hitler did when he got power was ban all gun ownership by private citizens. What I said: Disarmed. And your smart point is ....???? I do not see any point in your reply. Troll. Your post is BS, just shooting from "the hip" w/o any background. Try again. Okay. I try again. My point is that it is not good when a government disarms the people because then people cannot stop there government from doing horrible things. Even Canada lets people have rifles just not handguns. When Hitler disarmed the Germany people, they lost there power to fight the horrible things he did and many millions of Germans, Poles, Russians and other Euros died because of it, even some Canadians. I am sorry I did not say that at first, I thought you knew.

What are you trying to say. There are no disciplines for first time jumpers just a first jump.

The Court's opinion may not be taken to cast doubt on those longstanding prohibitions but reality does when it comes to schools and government buildings. IIRC, schools and government buildings are where most of the bigtime mass shootings take place along with private businesses where no firearms are allowed. Then again, it may be too many Type A personalities in the US.

I voted other. The ones with a lot of Quade BillVon and especially Amazon. There so boring cause they always post the same whines, they just do save and replace on the names and subjects. Interesting ones have Andy 908 and John Ritch and Kallend cause if you agree or not they at least say different things and seem to think a little before hitting send.

Campainer-n-Chief on the road again. What would you name the tour?

I see you have been registered since 2004, could you please provide some of your earlier post complaining about Bush hitting the campaign trail for Republicans. I have a funny feeling you can't. You do realize that every president does this? Perhaps you just think that because some dumb fuck Christian network bitches about Obama, that republicans would never do the same thing. Perhaps one of the most shallow threads I have seen in a while. You do know all Presidents do this? Yes, but FYI-- http://www.politico.com/politico44/perm/0611/kaching_fa0c7fd4-498f-4970-b51c-38e06897f41c.html
