I’m with ya. What is proper etiquette if you are passing people in the left lane 5 to 10 mph faster than the right lane traffic and someone starts riding your ass because they think you should be passing at 15 to 20 mph faster than right lane traffic? I pull to the right lane after I’ve passed the car/cars on the right. I may even accelerate a little but I’m not going to floor it. After reading all this, I'm thinking that after market James Bod type equopment would be a hot seller. Flame throwers out the rear for tail gaters. rocket launchers in front for "pokey" in the left lane. There slhould be enough talent on here to put this venture together. It should only take a few cases of beer to ger a business plan ready. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. It's gonna be sad when one day he says. "No, I'll hlod my beer but watch this."

Do you pay less attintion to the other driver when passing on the left? I don't believe bitching about it will change anything. I bitched about it for years and the clueless are still there. I just resign myself to passing them on the right just as carefully as I would on the left. Paying attintion to them becarse they might not see me (they're clueless) and for whatever reason start to come over into my lane. It takes less time and "enhances my calm." It also lets me feel morally superior and I have few enough occassions to feel like that. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. Man, I've been telling people for 40 years that they have to careful when they start skydiving. Because if they're not careful, thiey will wind up spending 50% of their time and 75% of theire money on skydiving. They thionk it's a joke until they get to whiere you are. I've never thought it a mistake or a coincidence that "Brit" rhymes with "twit".

No. The terrorists should be given the same rights as the pirates. Like Winsor suggested. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. Louis D Brandeis Where are we going and why are we in this basket?

I looks a lot like a Piglet but with a 24' in the reserve you must have had a very good friend as your rigger, That really looks like 10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound bag. That beats my story of putting a 26' Navy conical (with water pockets) in an original Pioneer Tri-Conical reserve container. Dude. the rock station here in Jacksonville will play that song fairly frequently. UNFORTUNATELY, they edit out "I guess you could say she was a sex fiend, I met her in a hotel lobby masturbating with a magazine" and it just feels so wrong. I turn the channel now because I know it's just not right. but I so love it. either the prince version or the foo fighters version. I doubt that WAPE is still there, but that was the rock station back when and through the 70s. In the summer of '65 they played the Monkees (sp?) "I'm a Beleiver" 5 times an hour ALL summer. I still winch when I hear it. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. Louis D Brandeis Where are we going and why are we in this basket?

A sad story. My condolances to his family. The more you load it the faster it goes. Changing it too often can be dangerous. Through the 70s and into the 80s, I charged the price of a hight jump for a repack. At Palatka with 182s, it was the same as a 7,500' jump. Later at DeLand, it was the same as a 13,500 jump. Easy money. With rounds. Ram airs, a bit more involved. In the mid 80s, I was the R&D shop for the Relative Workshop. Bill had set me up in the little block building beside the Airport Bar. On one particular day, I saw a rigger from another shop peddle up on his bicycle and walk past my window to the bar. A few minutes later he walked back with a six pack, put it in the basket on the bike and rode off. This happined 4 times over the next severel hours. Later that day I was talking to the guy who ran the shop that rigger worked for and mentioned it. He said, "Well, he only had 4 reserves to pack that day," No names in order to obfuscate the guilty. Once again proving the inadequacy of the metric system!

Really? How fast is it? Please do not use any man made units in your response. Really damn fast! Faster than BillVon can chug a micro brewery beer! Oh, wait...beer is man-made. Invented by the Gods, made by man. That guy is so fast he can turn off the light and be in bed before it gets dark. We all (skydivers) have the same type personalities. Type A or Type T, whatever "they're" calling it today. Part of this personality type is the potintial for being an asshole. I think most of us act reasonably and even in a professional manner. But there are those among us that exercise that potential a lot more that the others. A characteristic of this potential is a loud mouth. They are the ones who get heard. I believe that if you actually did a count you would find the active assholes in the mimority. That being said, I think you might employ tha Golden Rule. "Treat others as you would want to be treated." But I see no problem with turning that around. That is, assume the other person is going by the Rule also. If they treat you badly. assume that they want to be treated badly. Mean people suck. I probably got the best deal of anyone here. The guy who trained me left town suddenly and took my rather expensive Nikon camera with him. But he left his gear in my car. A Carosel Para Commander in an extended B-4, a Delta 2 Para Wing in an extended B-4, a 24' reserve (T-7A?) with an aircraft type altimeter and mount, and a Tri-Zip jumpsuit. I would rather jump out of airplanes than take pictures so I considered it a fair trade. There's a lot more to the story but that's the essential part. If anyone knows Pete Tolles, I would like to get in touch and let him know how jumping altered the course of my life. The best kind of car to take to watch elephants is... someone elses. And is just me or did that elephant have a very casual look like, "Man, I'm gettin' tired of clearin' this road every day."

A bunch of years ago, some guys ran a business that sold parachute kits. They sent you all the parts and the instructions how to put it together. At least with the home built parachute, you still had a reserve. I would have to know the builder of the home built plane to be a very meticulus and detail oriented person before I flew in one. I liked, "Slow is smooth and smooth is fast." Doesn't have the rhyme but... And: In the line up just before the count to the person in front of you, "Did you know this about your reserve?
