Agreed - there have been a couple of times I've had to explain to someone they need to move for the TMs to get ready at 9000'. There are several "up and coming" jumpers interested in skysurfing (anyone I know - ) - I think we might see more as time passes...who knows. It's all about comfort, but you'll never make everyone happy no matter what you do... So why not try a temporary bench setup one weekend to get a vote from all the "regulars"? I've had no problem keeping my Samurai under control - once down, just grab a couple extra inches of line in the fronts as you begin to coil the lines; it keeps the nose "driving" into the ground. I think you found the biggest con in airlocks - many pilots use the airlocks as a replacement for good judgment in poor weather conditions. All things considered, do I feel safer with them: yes - do I think it eliminates the risk of a collapse: no. By the way - I think I do a fair job of keeping up with you packing my Samurai (I seem to recall finishing before you a couple of months back ) Z-Flock 8 Discotec Rodriguez Too bad weapons grade stupidity doesn't lead to sterility.

Agreed! Along those lines, anyone following the new program could say, "I'm practicing (learning) high performance landings for my _ license on my own because there's no one around here qualified to train me". Larger DZs could make this training happen, but the smaller ones are going to have a real problem getting the people with the skills on a regular basis. The small DZ doesn't want to lose one of the few "regulars" they have so they "let it slide" while the jumper learns on their own... A few weeks later it gets bad when the jumper has a canopy collision with someone because they didn't know how to carve during their swoop - Who's to blame? The DZO, the DZ staff, the S&TA or the USPA for putting requirements in place without additional facilities to train? Just a thought... Freefly friendly - both soft... My Emergency procedures : Grab right, grab left, peel both, punch right and punch left...that's the way it was drilled into me by my rigger (not my instructor). When did you go to an elliptical canopy?

I'm glad I'm not the only one over 10 minutes... My Samurai 136 still has less than 100 jumps... So, it takes me a little longer to get it in the bag; 12-18 minutes usually, but I'm taking my time in the 90+ temps here in FL 200+ pack jobs without a complaint *knock on wood* Z-Flock 8 Discotec Rodriguez Too bad weapons grade stupidity doesn't lead to sterility.

We went there last year and arrived at 9:00 AM on a Friday as everyone was shutting down ... Then, a tandem, and another, and another...we ended up doing four jumps by noon before they did actually shutdown ... I'm not sure what's required for a license, but we got our water training (just in case) - good thing to do; every one of my tracks was out over the water... Have a blast!
