  1. No, it was packer at the DZ I visited for coach jump. At that particular DZ they will not let you pack rental gear. When I jumped another rig right after that I got a slammer again and noticed that metal pins on the toggles haven't been stowed in the pockets.
  2. First and only so far on rental Navigator 280 loaded 0.9, jump #20. It was toggle fire + line over.
  3. Seems like I'm going to be past due on all my CC, car payment and rent next month...
  4. Cheapest you can buy from your DZ store. Better jump DZ gear and buy Full face Revolt/G3 ect. - so worth it when you going trough a cloud full of ice :)
  5. Thanks for a heads up, i will be demoing that rig this weekend, I will ask if I can do hop and pop from 13k to play with it, I dont have a cash to buy another canopy, but may be I will find someone who is willing to trade. Reserve is Raven III 245-250 or something in that range.
  6. My DZO have a rig for me for very good price, but it has 230 Fusion in it. According to description it's an elliptical wing, my only worry is linetwists. Does anyone knows if this canopy will give me a few seconds to kick it out or will it dive right away? Anyone out there loading Fusion 1.2 or more?
  7. Get Benny - cost just few bucks more then protec, but it looks better and more solid. DZ will get you all you need including helmet - but it may look and smell terrible I'm pretty sure they will let you jump with your own open face helmet, if not - you may wait till you cleared to jump solo and then use your own alti, helmet ect. http://www.chutingstar.com/companyinfo_en/benny.html
  8. I will excuse myself from discussing this subject. I dont even have a coach rating..... Edit. I thing they should not count WS dives towards rating - just to make it fair. WS'ing is not a freefall. just my 2cents, but what I know about skydiving....
  9. yup, got that 1 too. I remember another thread discussing that particular subject. I voted "Leave the requirement as-is: six hours of freefall time".
  10. keep jumping rental till you get across a descent deal. big boys rigs are not so common and asking price get ridiculous sometimes. Yes your H/C and reserve needs to be TSO for your exit weight, mains does not have a TSO, but there is a manufacturers limitations on the maximum exit weight. The good thing is that most of the new H/C TSO'd for a guys like us.
  11. I was hoping for an hot air balloon..... and Wings, RI, Aerodyne in the vendors list
  12. Seems like a buying a used rig is not an option due to prices and questionable fit - I decided to go custom wings from Para-service. But still can't figure out if I should get a main (240-260sqf) and then get a h/c or get an H/C then look for main..I'm dead set on Smart 250, so only problem is Main. unfortunately msrp for wings went up $200 and I start to thinking if I should try a Racer instead since a price with dealer discounts is about the same, I'm totally lost now
  13. found it, thanks, http://skydivewings.com/3d/
  14. I tried to search and even sent an email to Wings, but I can't find anything. I will be getting H/C soon and would like to play with colors. Do they even have such a tool? Thanks
  15. Ha, now I know who is skybytch is.....
  16. I politely disagree with you on all counts. well, that was my personal opinion and thanks for not jumping on my ass for misinforming OP. What would be a fair price for this set up then? I'm not being sarcastic, don't get me wrong. I jumped a 30 y.o. rigs back home, D-5 D-6 UT-15, but back then we didn't have so many manufacturers offering h/c for less then $2000.reserves for $11-$13 hundred and mains for $15-$20 hundred. just an opinion from a noob, or may be I'm just trying to be a cool smart ass who doesn't know sport/industry well.
  17. I get that problem most of the time, but I found what is my problem... I shouldn't smoke st least an hour before climbing up or if I have some slightly cold. Most likely your sinuses is the problem. I use salt water to rinse my nose before I jump now - it opens up sinuses, also always stay hydrated. It may also be an allergy...you may consult doctors, but I lost faith in them long time ago.
  18. In the video description it says that his older brother did a tandem when he was a 5 y.o. too. TM is his dad. when i see 5 y.o. in McDonalds/In-n-out ect. chewing that shit called "food" makes me way more sad.
  19. If someone need a car cover - $50 for a reserve is good price, container - may be $200-$300. I'm a broke ass, but no way i would put a reserve from 80's in my rig
  20. I put 45 jumps on rental and I still don't know what i want. I'm a big guy and used gear prices lean me towards a custom made brand new H/C (articulated vision $1330 + brand new reserve for around $1100-1200 vs 10-15 y.o. for $500). I'm a very skeptical about all that downsize madness that is going on. I'm pretty sure I will stick to 1.0-1.2 WL for a quite few hundred jumps. I jumped Soviet PC 13 years ago couple dozen times and I will never trade a soft landing for a coolness and speed that peoples getting from high loaded wings :) Keep jumping rental and look for a deal. If you can't afford to rent anymore - just jump to keep you current and save up cash for something you think will keep you happy for a while
  21. I think he is from Ireland....
  22. Thanks guys, I will shoot them an email.
