Just wanted to throw that out there. Who's at work? Where would you rather be? Why aren't you there? What's your friggin' problem? -Doug "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

"The American women they like de tongue thing. They know, they know. You see it's the playing with the pussy.... Oh man look at this one...hot mama." "You think you can do it with that one." "Yeah, I could do it with that one. ....ya, watch this." "Yeah, you go man.... Go ahead Romeo....do your thing.." "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Well, her mother is in her 60's but you're right, my ex would probably not even hear us. Wahoo! -doug "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Also, can we not even post this in the "incidents" section when the inevitable happens? It's not like anyone will be surprised or will learn anything. Yeah, whoever is lending this guy a 130 is a jerk-off. Also, S&TA and DZO should kick them both in the nuts and sit them down for a picture show of injuries. -Doug "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

My ex-girlfriend (still buddies) is doing the same thing right now, working on PHD and is about to move back in with her mother because it'll save her $900 a month and she'll have her own floor of the house and still be close to work. I think what really makes it for her is that she'll be able to live at the house and be independent of her mother. I think that's the important part. -doug "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

We got up a pretty good pace doing rotations last weekend from a three stack. I don't have the finesse of this down at all but I could muscle my way through it. I found that I could bleed off the final bit of momentum by warping the hell out of my canopy as I got to the bottom. Mine is a paraflite 185 circus tent (1:1) so I can really only get the technicality of a warp on there. So, from more experienced people, is this a good method? -Doug "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Anyone know how to save "flash" files from the internet like you can do with mpegs using "save target as." "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

I think some chick named Jenny already took that one. -doug "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

The alligators are problems. Sometimes they're just lying there, meaning that you recognize them but have them under control. When they attack you is when you have to think about your response. Running away is bad, fighting is good. I had a dream where I was pulling my friends across a pond and the alligators were attacking me. I couldn't fight back because I was trying to save everyone so they were just ripping flesh off of me. I later realized that I was looking out for these friends more than they were looking out for me. Result, got rid of them. It's pretty amazing how the mind works. Just don't read into it too much. You may have just watched Crocodile Hunter and it was on your mind. -Doug "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

The funny part is picturing bush making these quotes. "...virulent aggression against America will not go unpunished..." veer-you-lent agreshin... -doug "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Yeah, I thought I was going to do some damage to his nuts when we let go but I think he was ok. I think that's a pretty good way to learn it. The student could be the one on top, you kick your legs up, he grabs, you steer. This is the opposite of what we did but my man, Larry, says he's too old to try be the one kicking up his legs. What I was worried about was oversteering and coming back around into his canopy. That's what happened to one of my crw buds at my dz on his first downplane and it ended up in an entanglement. I realized as we rotated that it was very stable and I just had to point it at the dirt and away we went. Linking to Chuck's description of how to do a downplane: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=215449;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread -doug

This thread is like a bad episode of the History Channel. Still, waiting on rgoper for why they face whichever direction. Guessing South to catch the sunlight and so the poo in the back wouldn't heat up and stink. -doug "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Yup, homeboy has been watching too much of the other "Caught on Video" stuff, way too dramatic. It was like watching two different shows between your, "yeah, reserve ride, whatever" commentary and his, "CHANCING THE FATES!!" garbage. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Actually, thinking about it.... The pictures of the girls are all lifted from internet sites. There's that one chick wearing an American flag top. They all are also obviously copied and pasted. So, I guess Mario didn't know what it said on that girl's back, just , "Ooh look, American lady with tatoo." "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Wear a helmet and don't get into any free fly bigways. Keep up with your emergency procedures...not that AAD users shouldn't... -djl "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

So, let's say I were to get two canopies. Which is better at each between a Triathlon and a Lightening? "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

What are the differences in the canopies used for rotations vs. sequential crw. -doug "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Hey, thought I'd freshen this query and see if anyone has input. We're looking at getting a few Prodigies or Expresses and don't know what the performance is vs. a Lightning. From what I gather, they thump in even more than Lightnings. Is the trim comparable? -doug

I am completely against the death penalty (I hope I don't start this inevitable debate) and oppose it as a method of punishment (yes, too easy, make the sucker sit and rot) but I have no problem knowing that this guy won't be around. -djl "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Oh crap, I just remembered a really funny dream. Not about an actual skydive but just occurring at my DZ. The dream goes: We were all hanging out after jumps, drinking; it was mostly couples and the rest of us were single. The couples started heading off together and then the single people started matching up (picture the ending of "Spies Like Us" w/ Chevy Chase/Dan Akroyd). A girl and I were the last ones there so we walked off together. It wasn't clear where we were going or what we were doing so I took charge and led her to the shower. She said something like, "Oh, this looks like fun...but hold on a second." So I'm standing there by myself and she walks off and returns a minute later with a folder and starts planning what we're going to do in the shower like it was a 4-way jump.... Grips on how we're going to get into the shower, then the progression of positions. I'm still thinking, "ok, this could work" but then look at the picture boards she has and they're actual skydive configuations....sidebodys to open accordian, all that crap. Finally, I just go, "you have got to be kidding me" and I walk out. End of Dream. -doug "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

That is good, yet sick, humor. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

I couldn't believe how stable this was. It felt more controllable than piloting stacks. I did the method of kicking left foot up, then right foot crossed, then turning canopy until looking straight down while legs uncross.

If I ever see anyone do this I'll poke their eyes out. That's a horrible idea. Horrible. Attached is my costume from last Holloween. Me on right. -Doug "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

I've had a few, let me hear some others. Here's one I had Friday night that was kind of spooky: Jumped out for a crw jump, deployed pilot chute and the whole canopy came out as a mess, lineovers, twists, spinning all over the place, then it just tore in half and I cut it. Went into freefall and decided to fall for a while. Fell to about 4.5k and went for reserve, handle got caught on all the shit I had across my chest strap. So........I pulled off the chest strap and took off all the crap across it, noticed I was getting low, was deciding between getting strap back on and just deploying reserve. Decided to reattach chest strap (good idea)....still falling, fumbling with strap, ground approaching, freaking out.......still only looped half through, can see people's faces on the ground.....fuck it, grab opposite chest strap with one hand, pull silver with right hand and then cross hands across chest strap......ahhhh!!! Ground still approaching, reserve not opening....I land in a chair and another jumper on the ground hands me a bowl of ice cream. I think it was rocky road. -doug "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
