wow, you are either a dzo or a douche, there are other jobs that are seasonal or dependent on how many customers walk through the door, yet the people in other industries are still treated with respect and have rights as a worker. it has changed at some dzs and yes it can be a real job!
-
Just curious...are you a TM at a commercial center? Have you been screwed over by a few DZO's?? If so who and why? Inquiring minds want to know where it's bad, and how bad IS it? dont want to mention names but there are more bad than good. I work somewhere now where I dont have to deal with the bs but understand there are a lot of TI's that still have to put up with it.
-
maybe if the DZO's didnt treat the experienced guys like shit we wouldn't need the uspa and the manufacturers to dumb down tandems and there would be less tandem injurys and fatalities. instead they give us a list of tandem commandments trying to make it safe for any dumbass with 500 jumps to replace experience. turn and burn your instructors dzo's as long as you make your money who cares....right?
-
I am a 500 jump wonder, where did you just quit so I can replace you. btw whats your wing loading???
-
friends dont let friends jump strong tandem rigs or racer tandem rigs.....btw whats your wing loading??
-
wow thats crazy, you had a tandem student arch!! btw whats your wing loading????
-
what was your wing loading?
-
You Asshole, don't you bring my father into this!!! the Meoff's are a very proud family. next you'll be makin fun of my cousin Ben Dover or Phil Mecrevase....you bastard!
-
everyone else is throwin out personal attacks at me with no moderator intervention, i might as well join in.....
-
Glad that you mentioned that - I could have sworn that you made a fresh new account and were trolling the feeders, laughing your ass of and secretly making fun on everybody that couldn't help himself and just had to feed the trolls...
-
that is a personal attack! I was merely discussing tandem techniques. i thought that is what this forum was for!! where is the moderator in this forum that was just rude
-
I watched your youtube video, it looked like you could of stood up on that one?? maybe you should get more speed for better flare and you could stand up more landings.....
-
whats your wing loading???
-
ive seen the other guys stand up pretty much everytime by getting extra speed for landing, isnt that the safest way to land?? they are able to bring it to a complete stop and stand up that seems better than a butt bomb..
-
i see other guys get good landings with their tandems by hookin it, i was just tryin to get some advice, pull my head in?! nice attitude! i thought this forum was for learning....you sound like the people at the dz that got mad when i started jumpin my cross brace, they said i wasn't ready but i havent had any accidents except for a few minor wipe outs (no hospital) i just thought a smaller tandem canopy would improve my wing loading....
-
sorry i was just try to get advice since i am kinda new to tandem. stupid question i guess
-
ok good advice, i have been jumping the 365 but i have to do my turn so low it kinda scares people. i think a smaller parachute will let me turn higher and it will be safer. i am still learning so i need more practice with hook turn tandems...thanks for the advice.
-
I am new TI and am jumping 365 icarus but want a smaller canopy. i heard there are icarus 300 and performs better in winds cause of better wing loading. also you can swoop better and get more stand up landings. do you think it is ok to swoop your tandem for better landing??

“Hard landing in strong/gusty winds” fatalities
jumpdude17 replied to GLIDEANGLE's topic in Safety and Training
so what is the best way to handle strong winds should I hook for speed or should i do a straight in approach??? i have been jumping a cross brace for the last 200 jumps but still have trouble with the strong gusty winds....i have heard the a higher wing loading is better for strong winds, should i wear weights to help with the conditions??? -
what about jumping smaller tandem canopies with handy? i really want to start jumping the 330's so i can get a better swoop like the other guys. do you think its ok to swoop your tandem with handy?
-
i am new TI and just started handy, should i worry about wing loading when doing handy?? if i have a big customer should i not do handy?? whats your max wing loading when doing handy??
