This is something you only get away with once then you are on warnings and what not - if I want to keep on jumping this cant happen again or Ill get banned (not that I would want to do it again). From a danger standpoint in my mind it seemd like a fairly harmless prank.

Not mad exactly, but I wouldn't jump with you again. Not even if I offered to pay your slot and promised to keep my distance - for all I care he can jump with anyone ells, I want my buddy on the ground back.

I have/had a friend that started jumping with me and we did our 100th jump together, after getting me in trouble with the CI a couple of times I thought I would teach him a lesson and opened his shoot for him @ 10 000ft as a joke/payback. I informed everyone on the load including the pilot of my plan (not the safety officer - she would have stopped me). On the ground I told him strait away what I did and why, I bought a couple of beers and off we went. Now he is not returning my calls and still moans about it when at the DZ. I really feel bad about losing a buddy - is he justified in staying angry at me for so long (8 months) for what I consider a joke?

I now consider myself lucky having done static line, I dont really fear low altitudes thus balloon and chopper jumps are awsome. I had to bail out of a plane at 1900ft due to malfunction on about 50 jumps after that I realized how high it is. Let these guys be afraide of low altitude, more fun jumps for the rest of us.

Life Insurance for Skydivers

I live in South Africa and interestingly my live insurance was only ajusted for me being a rep that drives alot and the fact that I skydive doesnt seem to bother the insurer. -
On exiting the plane as a group I got used to ready (guy counting shakes group from inside plain), set (we all crouch and get ready), go (well we go/jump), now that I'm jumping at different DZ's there seem to be a few different counting methods (swining legs etc), obviously it's all good if it works but what would be the "best" way?

Plenty of good skydiving in South Africa and Namibia, bit in Zim, but those boys normally drive thru to Rustenburg or Witbank skydiving clubs. There is boogies in Moz with a cesna 206t from SA every so offen (rumour has it that the plain will stay in Moz).

Jump no 90 to 95 tried to get me out of the sport, bad pack job (my own) on jump 90 made my try out my shiny reserve @ 1200 (lost my toggle) = scared, nice downwind landing (forced on me by another swooper cutting in) ankle seriously damaged on jump 93 = scared, get my rig back after repack ankle sorted jump 94 all well then on 95 the pilot lets us know the ride is finished @ 1800 and we all need to get out = scared $#!tles
