Whats Ham radio? i assume crew dog is relating to CRW? and was that tip to take a trip to madison for me? is he the type of guy to organize some cross country jumps?? Some people say "The sky is the limit" .... those people must not skydive..

first off whats a crew dog? secondly some things i forgot to take into account .... temperature! i forgot about that it can becold as shit up there good point there.. its funny how some people feel uncomfortable being under canopy at those heights and feel safer at 2K. but to each his own. that invisible highway sounds awesome by the way i has seen pictures but they dont do justice,. alright this is getting me pretty stoked for springtime.. sounds like it would not be to hard to organize one of these cross country jumps at a dz near me... if people are interested in it.. i cant imagine it from 18k sure would get your moneys worth out of that jump Some people say "The sky is the limit" .... those people must not skydive..

Oh yes im sorry i forgot to mention that i know that i need to tell others my plan to open a little higher than normal... so far i have been aff so i have been in the back of the pack anyway. and i will be sure to d some high pulls as soon as i progress a little more unfortunately in wisconsin december is not thetime to be progressing fast. i can imagine the feeling though at 13k under canopy with nothing around you in silence it will be freaky at first. oooohh man pure jealousy! that sounds awesome that is one thing im pumped to do once i get my A. i want to do some high alt hop n pops. but other than just the fun of it it sems like risk with malfunctions would be far less and much bette decisions would be made tme and altitude on your side.. maybe that will all change after i have 1,000+ jumpsunder my belt though who knows Some people say "The sky is the limit" .... those people must not skydive..

So im a real newbie but i notice so much talk and so many videos of people that are pushing te envelope and opening low on purpose or not being aware.. maybe its just me but i like to open higher than the norm and for several reasons.. 1.) i lovethe canopy flight as much as the free fall. 2.) gives more time to return to the dz if your in a long spot 3.) you have much more time for EP's i would much rather open at 3500 or4,000 and never have a cutaway but be ready to deal with one than having one at 2,000 or 2,500 feet and wishing i had more time/altitude. your thoughts? Yeah i had heard of WRS but not really a whole lot of info or even a website.. if you have jumped both dz's which would you suggest. i dont care how big or small just want knowledgeable and patient instructors. so where exactly do you live? i chose CSc for my first because i wanted it to be at 14,500 and then i went again for 18K because i got 100$ off :) thanks for your info. Hey there, some info and questions... I have only 3 skydives under my belt.. my first was 14,500 ft tandem 2nd was a 18,000 ft tandem. i had an awesome instructor who let me make some turns stopping on heading and let me fly the landing pattern it changed everything. the first jump i felt like i was just along for a ride and had no control. as soon as realized that i could be in control its all i could think about. i signed right up for my first aff class and was back the next weekend. The Dropzone i have been going to is 5 hrs away from my home. after i went through the ground school the instructor said it was way to windy to jump so i drove home and then back the next weekend. finally i got my aff1 in. it went pretty well. no big mistakes... One of the things i making sure to do was my flare later than i think i should. all the instructors i talked with said that most students do it to early and waste all the power. so i had my radio on my chest and listening to the instuctor waited for the count down to flare... i never got one. so at about 4 feet i flared :) obviously not taking to much speed off. i was too pumped up for realize i fractured a knuckle :). so my question is this. i have to drive 5 hrs and spend roughly $2,500 to get my A through aff. or i can go to a DZ thats 2 hrs away( Green Bay, WI) and cost $1,200 but its static line. I know the learning curve is quite slower in static line but i dont mind this..i would rather have more jumps with instruction before im cleared for solo. is there any other cons you guys can think of or any other reason to make the drive and spend the money for aff?
