  1. Gratuitous Corvette pics of mine in the order in which they were purchased. Still have the blue, green, and second red one.
  2. It is, as I predicted, an absolutely beautiful car, but there are way too many things unresolved to buy the first MY of this generation. I bought a first MY of both the C6 and C7 new, and still have both. 250,000 miles on the '05, and 111,000 miles on the '14. Both of which have statistically belied the thought that the first MY of any car is crap, as does all the posting on the Corvette Forum (where, you know, there would be a heavy bad weight of negative posting). We will still see how this plays out in the coming months/years. The starting price point is surprising, however. I thought it would be higher (understatement of mine for the year). Glad to see they aren't pricing it out of the demo right out of the gate. So, I will also have to live vicariously through the folks of the Corvette Forum.
  3. I'm not sure if it's insanity or genius to stop production before the official unveiling of the new model. p.s. I miss the old emojis.
  4. I can't help as far as who the folks in the video are, but, boy, has Perris changed in the past few decades!
  5. And then there is walrus BASE jumping.
  6. Hi, Jerry! Still here, mostly just lurking these days. I will wait for the unveiling. As of right now, I'm not feeling it, but I think I said the same thing about the C7, but then I saw one in person and fell in love with it. I've already put over 100,000 miles on my '14 convertible Stingray. I'm sure it will be a beautiful car, but will it really be a Corvette? The iconic Vette is sleek, with a long front and short ass. Will it be the death knoll of the brand (America's Sports Car that is affordable), or will the C8 (price-point) skyrocket it into supercar status? Right now, another negative for me is that apparently there will not be a convertible. Never say never, but...
  7. About damn time Nataly! p.s. I like your new avatar pic.
  8. That is funny. I remember watching a newscast in the mid '70s and their lead story was " Euell Gibbons dies of Natural Causes". At the time, I thought that was one of the funniest things, ever.
  9. Mr.owc6 and I were going through our log books and found this. It makes me sad all over again.
  10. I've only been to a Fudruckers once, but you know how they yell out the order? Well my SIL was going through one of her myriad of diets where (this time) she cut out meat. They just yelled out " One bun, please!" The entire restaurant burst out laughing.
  11. How do we report/flag a thread or post? We currently have two spam threads in BF. eta: never mind, I found the ghost "report post."
  12. It looks like everyone's sig line is gone at the moment. I expect they will restore that, soon. But the amount of white is a lot, and the new emojis suck. The old ones were great, and everybody here could virtually read each others' expressions, but I guess if we stick around, we will figure it out in a few years. *shrug*
  13. Small print is a reward for actually reading this sign. lol And the new emojis suuuuuuuuccccccckkkkkk!
  14. When did you actually join? I know it was way before me.
  15. Strangely compelling. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  16. I've been to Coolidge three times. A dozen or so jumps. ( one was a DC-4. Wild double prop-blast for sure! ). Most of the rest were twin Beeches and DC-3s.. Even back in the late '70s, early '80s, this place had a fair amount of mystique. Where is it relative to Casa Grande? I never was able to determine which was which. Where is the "hand?" When I jumped there, it was the old hangers (which I am assuming aren't there anymore?). lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  17. Re: Quick answer from another old fart When I started in early '64 => $5.25 Times, they are a'changin' Jerry Baumchen When I was active(late '70s - nineties), it was buck a thousand feet. At both Elsinore and Perris. I thought out would be about $50 by now. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
