  1. Eloy. No dogs allowed, rarely kids, and tandems don't mix with experienced jumpers.
  2. Hey guys, Thanks for the suggestion of Orange. It’s my new favorite DZ. I had a blast all weekend and am looking forward to more of the same this weekend. I’m Dave on FB, so I’m in the groups and looking forward to catching a happy hour in the near future. See you guys out there!
  3. Hey all, I'm here living in Hyattsvile. I don't have a car, but anyone willing to give me a ride in exchange for ass grass or cash (read: gas money), I'd be grateful! I can metro out to anywhere that works and will be available any weekends so far. I need to jump!!
  4. Just wanted to check in with everyone and say again I'm down for any weekends starting june 6 - august! i've got my new canopy and i'm itching for some east coast jumps (in the meantime, i'll be in lodi)
  5. At least you(they) judge me because you know me :p I'll be back to fly point again in august!
  6. Thanks much! Once I'm in town I'll try to track down some of these DC/VA locals to help me get out there. I'm always game to put in on a ride.
  7. Hey all, I'll be interning in DC this summer. I'll be fairly reliant on metro I believe, so any suggestions on where to jump or how to get there? I'm a B-Licensed jumper in town from June - August. I'd be glad to meet some other skydivers in the area so I don't just get those 'this guy must be nuts' looks from wuffo's all summer.
  8. Well once I bring a camera up a bit closer to the formation, I should be able to do a smidge better :p The aerial pics turned out amazing and I had a great time hanging out with the CRW Dogs. Looking forward to joining the ranks in the coming months
  9. I've heard that the fertiziler used at some DZ's will result in a residue on gear or clothes that can et off the machine as well.
  10. welp, that was easier than I expected. I both checked a firearm AND carried a rig (in a gear bag, without an AAD) on with me and no problems. They didn't even slow down the xray conveyor belt to look at it twice... let's hope it's always that easy!
  11. Welp, this thread made me at least make sure to use a gear bag to avoid trouble. Also, no AAD should hopefully help. Tomorrow will be my first time flying with a rig out of Phoenix and into San Jose, CA. I'm hoping Phoenix is a little easier than some other airports with all the visitors coming through to Eloy... but we'll see. Wish me the best and see you soon, Lodi! :p
  12. +1 Let's bring it back for 2011... we'll be training in it whether they let us compete it or not at ERAU :p
  13. Anyone know if these discounts tend to exclude veterans (no longer on active duty)?
  14. The issue with underexposure is that (I believe) the camera attempts to auto-expose by slowing the shutter speed. If things were so dark that the camera attempted to correct and you still saw blur AND underexposure, that would somewhat explain your result. Disclaimer: It's been a little bit since I used a GoPro (about a year), so I def haven't used the new firmware. Also, I've never used it for jumping, just for motorcycle-related stuff.
  15. Put a lightsphere II on there... maybe it'll act like a drobe
