    Draft

I'll be the greedy one in this bunch. . .How much is all this going to cost? There is a lot of 18 to 24's out there. If they are to receive the same benefits as the regular service members, G.I. Bill, medical, dental, ect. ect., That is an astounding amount of cash. In a couple of years the Baby Boomers would be retiring and we all know no single politician is going to allow social security to go bankrupt. That's political suicide. Or are the conscrips going to get paid? I think this would be one of the biggest reasons this would be shot down. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  3. I always started at the most favorable end and searched backwards to the beginning. There was this one book though; i think it was meant to be a dark irony book or something. you always lost. And the only good ending seemed to be printed just to show the reader it existed(for people like me who cheat). There was no reference pointing to that page at all. Messed me up for life man! _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  4. I remember in college the time I was invited to a little church thingy. Went there and when they started to open their mouths, I thought "Ah-Haaaa!!! they're nutbags!" You know what type i'm talking about. . .They have that "Inner Contentment" glow and all smiles and stuff, usually the losers of society. couldn't find a date or not cool enough so they go to the only place that would accept them. Really, what they are doing is using faith as a drug and go through withdrawls if not faithful enough. I consider those to be the wacky ones. the others, from the bigger churches and the talk to everyone crowd and keep in touch with their families outside the church, they just want a utopia world for thier kids and themselves. Anything outside their scope becomes a threat and they fear for their kids future. I'm not a Christian but I can kind of sympathize with them. I would hate to see my little nanooks live in a screwed up world. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  5. I think you have to have committed a federal crime before you are dishonorably discharged. It usually comes with a sentence to Leavenworth. Nowadays, you just can't get a government job. Any other job it's the fact that the person possibly has a character flaw that prevents them from being successful rather than a bad conduct discharge on a record. You don't have to tell your employees you served. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  6. I might not be able to argue too well about the "disadvantaged" group. I would say most are because a lack of knowledge of their options and the marketing skills of the military in general. Those recruiters can make the service look like sunshine (or else!!!) I find the most common type of enlisted sailor is from the two parent home that was able to put them through college. Maybe 20 to 30 percent came from poor families. Todays navy has enough volunteers to where we don't need to tolerate any attitude-disadvantaged people. We chop them real quick. Now class struggle; we do have some rich kids and poor kids but they make the same amount of money and everyone knows that. They can't be impressed by how much their dad makes. The jealousy just isn't there. As far as to who really fight the battles. the fact that only poor people die in wars is a myth brought up by people who only pay attention to certain numbers. You definitely are going to see "poorer people" die more often. There is a lot more of them than officers and/or rich kids. I have yet to see a single war where there were no officer casualties. I would say the death ratio of rich family/poor family service member is roughly the same percentage as rich family/poor families living in america. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  8. Well this isn't only bush's war. It's mine too. I'll take responsibility of voting him in. I don't regret it. One could argue till he's blue in the face about it being a mistake but hindsight is 20/20 and foresight is a 50/50 guess that would invalidate any prediction. Grunts, sailors and soldiers have always been paying the price. It was never war, peace, war peace, war. It was War, small conflict, big conflict, various missions, terrorist attack, missions. War again, conflict, missions ect, ect,(all compared to Viet nam) all the time. The U.S was never not doing anything and at it's most peaceful years when newsweek and cnn weren't interested, we would lose at least two or three personnel in a foreign country within a six month period and that's the nongrunt fleet navy. No info on marines and Army. Grunts swore to pay the price. So did the Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen. I know I won't be paying 1000 dollars, People are taxed according to income and tax bracket. 70 to 80 percent of that total cost is being absorbed by the wealthy. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  9. I'll take it for what it is. A joke. As far as the draft, I don't think that's a real consideration, at least in the Navy. We are still in the middle of a downsize campaign. But there's a lot of negativity and doom/gloom with this war. The 'nam-theorists are louder today than ever before. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  10. I've been in this general area twice during this time of year and if i remember their weather, It would drizzle for a second stop, the sun would show, drizzle again. I have never seen a dark overcast Hope I have given you hope
  11. conspiracy theorist website. these guys are the same type of people on the "smoke decks" on our ships that trade "theories" and "secrets" to get attention. Okay, I really looked good into this site and I'll take back the "conspiracy theorist" remark: They are Ass Hats. This isn't too far off from this other site. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  15. I've never seen this show, but I am theorizing that the shot of her looking out the window at Tara was really shot at some earlier time when she was really looking out at some squirrel or another. For all we know, his choice was the "right one" but the show was chopped and glued to make her the bad choice and told Tara secretly that she was chosen. So then Tara sick to her stomach for the meeting gets from him otherwise, the look on her face would be genuine hurt, but for the wrong reason. According to former reality stars, winners and losers, this type of director sabotage, and rivalries and interest instigated is of the norm and they don't know anything till it airs. If i watch these shows, it's for the same reason a person watches a magician. What is that character really like? Plus the suspense is killing I doubt this format will ever go away. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  17. I quit smoking july 21 2000. The day after I broke up with someone I really really cared for. She didn't like me smoking so i wouldn't smoke the couple hours before a date or anytime I thought I would see her(basically smoking hours between 1200 am to 5:00 am). Well, when we broke up for differences( she was Christian, I was a Heathen) I sparked up in front of her and said "At lease I can do this now". The next day, what I said struck a nerve and I quit. I stayed smoke free through a 9/11, high intensity underway periods, two Gulf deployments and spending about maybe a total of 5 months out of two years outside the continental US. I think I got this licked. Getting up to 3 years. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  18. Well, if she is cheating it might not be with your friend. even though blood is thicker than water, I don't know too many sisters who will join a lie with thier brother when it comes to this subject. Maybe she would not want get in the middle of it. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  21. just to strenghten your argument, this test is no different than a "personality test". Those different descriptions are really just describing all the normal feelings and emotions one would normally feel through a week period. It's then segmented and assigned an extreme end of a "disorder". It's constructed exactly like a horoscope reading but instead of being a scorpio you are "Antisocial". Matter of fact, the more "moderates" and "highs" you have, the more normal you are. But then again your actions are much louder than your self opinion which as a lot of people get wrong anyways. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  22. what do you got? A 3500? If I wasn't living in San Diego, I would have bought something with a Diesel engine. Probably wouldn't be too much more than what I have bought. I think I would only buy a Dodge for it's diesel. A good thing those fuel-oil burners are. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  23. So the website this comes from is another version of Emode. This Test if taken down and written in paper form would be a good gag to play on people. "Hey, it says here you're crazy!" and every time they say something, look at them with a knowing look. "Hmmmm." I would have to flesh it out some because the results are too interpretive Oh yeah, I'm low with everything except being moderate antisocial and moderate narcissistic _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  24. Hey, get an F-150. It's as reliable as most imports now. except the 4X4's of course. I just bought my 4X4 f150 super crew King Ranch recently (my second f-150) and I still get a charge when I drive it. But for more than half the price, you can still get a 4X2 with a 4.6 litre engine supercrew. Stay away from that "hemi" if you are getting a Dodge. sure it's 350 hp but how useful is that power when it exists at 5000+ rpms. you are buying a label of an obsolete technology. that engine should belong in a car not a vehicle that uses to lower 3000 rpm powerband. Oops, I goofed. forgot completely about the torque #'s. 375 at 4500 rpms. This is the reason it beat the Titan engine. Okay, buy the Hemi but understand that the "hemi" isn't what makes this engine strong. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  25. This was popular news in Virginia Beach VA. Some people built houses near a Naval Air Station a while back (you know, where bypass ratios on most military jet engines are a lot less than a commercial airliner.) Maybe their lack of technical expertise let them down. afterburners are an option on takeoffs. They tried to get the navy to back off on take off times. Of course they lost. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
