    you know... you are totally right. and next time, I'm going to give it a shot. (God help me!) But $1300 is a LOT to throw at a car that was working fine a few days ago. I've changed oil before... haha... that's a start, right?

    I'm pretty stubborn, so I usually put up a fight at first. Doesn't take long till I'm rolling with it though. Whether it's a change in management at work, or a change in a relationship, or a change in location..... I usually deal well. Then again, I moved 20 times by the time I was 18 years old. I can't stay put for shit. The longest I've been in one place in a looooooooong time was the 3 years I just spent in Michigan. And that was 2 1/2 years too long.

    midas really really sucks. oh, well. the mechanic that i'm going to now is the one that works on my sister's cars. she trusts him. i'm just going to have to suck this one up and take the hit. i really haven't had to put any money at all into the car till now. so, i guess it's to be expected. thanks, anyway!!

    a lot of people have been asking me if i've had the timing belt replaced. the car does have about 120,000 miles on it at this point.... so it's probably pretty close to due.

    trust me. i thought about that. but i JUST finished paying off my car, and it's apparently still worth some good money. more than $1300 I guess. So i had to cut my losses.

    I went to Midas last year and they apparently f*cked my car all up. They are refusing to cover it under their warantee. So I took the damn thing to my sister's garage. He showed me the hole in the thingy and it looked pretty devistating.

    Well, since you asked... the cadalytic converterS (I didn't realize a car had two) are both blown out. There's a hole in the thingy. The pipe thingies are all damaged. And it needs a new timing belt.

    I mean, just think of all the fun you could have with that money. Not me. Instead, $1300 might fix my car. And I didn't even get the satisfaction of crashing the damn thing for that price. hmph. mechanics.
