Without knowing why your shoulder has restricted movement it is difficult to say what to do. However, maybe start by scheduling an appointment with a physical therapist or a massage therapist. Or you may need a combination of both. It could be that the weak muscles are over powered by stronger muscles or other functional issues, and a physical therapist should be able to help with that. For massage, make sure to do some research before scheduling, there is a very wide variance of how beneficial their work will be and how good they are. I would look for one that does therapeutic massage and/or sports massage. For some massage therapists it is just a job and they don't really care and pretty much just rub oil or lotion on you, and some truly want to help people get better and try to find the source of the issue. If neither of those help, it may be a bigger issue and you may need to see a doctor.

A woman in a hot air balloon realizes she is lost. She lowers her altitude and spots a man fishing from a boat below. She shouts to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am." The man consults his portable GPS and replies, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude. She rolls her eyes and says, "You must be a Republican!" "I am," replies the man. "How did you know?" "Well," answers the balloonist, "everything you tell me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you're not much help to me." The man smiles and responds, "You must be a Democrat." "I am, replies the balloonist. "How did you know?" "Well," says the man, "You don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and now you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but, somehow, now it's my fault."

Learn to the precision pack (psycho pack). I have only used that pack job for about 20 years and love it. Though I do it a little different then most others. I first learned it when I had a fairly slippery canopy and have never gone back. It takes about half the work to get it in the bag and once it is in it won't pop back out even if you let it go. Back in the day when I used to pack I packed everything with that that way, student rigs, tandems, sport rigs, etc. The tandem master used to say it was the best, very soft, and most consistent openings.

I didn't even look that far, lol. I had noticed the list of old posts before, but never bothered to look at it. ETA: Wow that was a trip down memory lane. Those pics are all from boogies about 15+/- years ago. There were several of people that are no longer with us but it was great to see their smiling faces again. And I also figured out how to see (possibly) all of the posts made. After going to your profile and clicking on "See my activity", then go to the left column under Forums. There is Topics and Posts, I have 19 pages of posts which seems about right, and they all seem to be posts. You have 267 pages of Posts
-
If you go to your profile you can see your activity (posts you've made and commented on). When I looked at my profile I saw posts back several years. I have not tried the search function so I don't know why posts are not showing up there.

I think a great video series is AM & PM Yoga for Beginners with Rodney Yee and Patricia Walden, produced by Gaia. They are both about 10 minutes long plus a 5ish minute meditation; short, simple but helpful. They give suggestions on how to do the poses when you have difficulty getting all the way into a position. Just don't push yourself to hard, especially in the beginning. More is not better and trying to do a pose in a way that your body is not ready for can cause injuries, so listen to your body. There is a difference between your body struggling to maintain a pose and pain from holding a pose wrong or pushing to much to get more of a stretch. Yoga is really not about creating flexibility it is more about learning to relax the body and mind enough for the body is able to lengthen and loosen up. Shaking is a good thing, pain is a bad thing. Most yoga classes at a place (gym, studio, etc) are 50-60 minutes or longer. You can find shorter and longer ones on YouTube, or anywhere that you can find fitness videos. Search for yoga for flexibility, as there are several kinds of yoga; some to increase strength, focus, meditation, and/or relaxation, among other things.

What do you think of the new dropzone.com format?
Chiquita replied to pchapman's topic in The Bonfire
Meso, I am mainly a lurker, so take my thoughts for whatever it is worth to you. I do the new site, and change always takes time to get used to. And it takes time to work out the bugs, and find some of the ways to make the changes that you want. I have a website of my own, so I know. Plus, when you update things, you can't always keep everything that was there, no big deal. And it is a free site to use, so to me I can't complain that much. I appreciate the work you do on this site and your efforts to maintain it. And I find it interesting how much people complain about this site and other FREE sites that they put no effort or money into but expect a lot in return for their FREE membership. If they think they can do better, they can always start of site of their own, or even step up and offer to help, but they don't, they just want to complain. I find the threats to leave and never some back quite funny, and to be honest kind of childish (they almost never do or end up coming back). Here is my thoughts: The only thing that is a bit annoying is the load time, but it is only a few seconds longer and I've seen sites take a lot longer. And it does seem to have gotten better since the update. What I like: The overall look and functionality. It is cleaner and easier to find and get to some of the stuff, especially with the bar that stays at the top. The idea of New instead of a dot, makes it very clear which thread has a new post. The dot/star thing is a bit weird and slightly confusing, but again it is just different. How if you hover over a post that it show the first post and the last post. Though, if possible, to click on either and go to that post might be nice (but that is also what the dot is for). But that may also slow down the site, so that would not be worth it. That you can like a post, report a post (will make admins' job a bit easier & help with spam), and that you can insert photos and such. Being able to turn on or off notifications for replies. The hovering over a profile and seeing the info, as opposed to having to click on it and go to another page. The white space seems to have been cut down a bit, but that could just be my imagination -
Burner phones used to be actual phones, and you can still buy cheap pay as you go phones. However, now there are apps that you can load onto your current smart phone that gives you a separate number, so it is like having a different phone. You give out the new number and when the person calls it rings on your current phone. You just have to make sure to only call them from the app, or set your own up to ask which service to call out on every time you call out. I have a "burner" number, from when I was trying online dating, in case someone got too weird and I needed to cut away. But I didn't want to have to lose the number I've had for years if that happened, so its a great alternative. And its great for buying and selling online, like craigslist, offerup, letgo, etc "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity"

You will need to renew your BPA membership. Or you might have to get a USPA membership. For where to jump, pretty much what everyone else said, depending on the time of year, and what else you are wanting to do while in the US. But Eloy (Skydive Arizona), Skydive Perris (LA/San Diego CA area), Skydive Deland (Orlando FL area), possibly Skydive Chicago (if not in the winter), are all great places. There is also the Atlanta area, there is 3-4 dzs there in relative close proximity to each other. From my understanding, all of them have a wind tunnel close to the dz or the city. For gear, most dzs will have gear you can rent: rig, helmet, googles, altimeter, jump suit, etc. If you have any gear, you can bring some with you, suit, altimeter, googles. Tunnel Rigs and Skills Translating From Sky to Tunnel

I'm a bit late as well, but only saw this post because of your response. One thing I didn't see anyone mention is that in the sky you have cross winds and in the wind tunnel you don't. I would think that would make a difference as well. "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity" -

I saw that on local Fox news station, in the interview she says she didn't touch him with it and was 5 feet away. The video part never mentions that there were marks on his leg. There is a slight mention in the article that she used it on his leg, but no mention of marks and no mention of a witness. To me it is interesting that Fox News links to an AZ Central article and not the local Fox news. As well as the slight variance between the news reports, one says she tased him and one implies (more or less) that she didn't. http://www.fox10phoenix.com/news/arizona-news/phoenix-mother-accused-of-using-taser-on-son-to-wake-him-up-for-church "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity" -

Skydiving and shoulder dislocations
Chiquita replied to anirudhrb's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Look into kinesio tape (kinesio tex, rock tape, kt tape, etc), it can help support your shoulder joint as it heals, and afterwards if needed. I would first try to find a person that is truly trained in using the tape. As far as I know only Kinesio Tex and Rock Tape are the only two that offer classes to medical professionals. There are several videos online on how to apply the tape, but make sure you follow all the directions, mainly no tension on either end of the tape. If it is not applied correctly it can hurt more and/or cause skin damage, that's why seeing a professional the first time is good. "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity" -

CL ad giving away some old skydiving manuals and magazines

They are giving them away for free. https://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/zip/d/free-skydive-documents-and/6319636073.html I was thinking of contacting the person and maybe sending it to the skydiving museum but not sure if they would be interested in it or not "Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity" -
