Balloon jump in Quincy last year, landed off the airport (of course) after I missed the power lines and the turned to miss the trees, I realized about a half second before impact that the ground was actually a hill going up and I hit in the middle of my turn, rolled up the hill and had : 2 black eyes 1 tooth broken in half 1 sore jaw 2 huge scratches on my face 1 spragned ankle Tons of bruises on the left side of my body Yeah....... it hurt kinda bad. 15,000 (altitude on sunset load yesterday!!!!):5:1 Sunset load rocked last night at 15,000 ft.! I only work one day a week (Sunday) to give the regular a day off. I load the plane and fuel the plane and I get money put on my jump account for it. So as long as I don't jump to much (yeah right) I don't ever have to hand over cash out of my pocket to jump! I like it a lot! BooYa#1 GR#50 You might be a skydiver if... I don't know about putting it in the AFF programs. I know I asked someone when I only had around 75 jumps if I could do the intnetional cut-away and they told me to wait until I had 100 jumps. That was just advice from an instructor. The cut-away was EXTREMELY fun! Going back into freefall was cool! It was all planned though, so I know it's not like a REAL malfunction. I know kind of what to expect now though! And I plan on doing it again, just because it was so FUN! BooYa#1 GR#50 You might be a skydiver if... Well, I finally had a cut-away! It was intentional though, so I don't think it really counts for anything other than me having a good time! I borrowed a guys chest mount canopy and we put it on my rig and off I went ! It was a 22' round canopy on my chest and I was so nervous! With 570 jumps and I have not had a cut-away! I have been pretty anxious to have a cut-away (I know that probly sounds weird) But I wanted to have one. So, I'm at 5000' and I hop out on my back and throw the pilot chute and out comes a sky blue round canopy! It was so cool to see a round above my head! (Cool, just becasue I knew I didn't have to land that thing) So, after playing for a couple of minutes and checking it out, at 3500' I released the cables from the 3-rings and down I went!!!!! Woooo Hoooo!!!! I was back in freefall and screaming "YAAAAAAA HOOOOOOOO"!!! Reached back grabbed my hackey and threw it out and watched my main open beautifully! Man that was a blast! I can't wait to do it again! It was such a rush and it was so cool to get that huge nervous adrenaline going again! And I know.... I owe beer!
