  1. Well since everyone who has replied has given a story of why they started skydiving I guess I will put my blurb on here. My mom started jumping when I was six years old. To tell you the truth at that age I didn't think to much of it. But as I spent more time around the sport and the people she jumped with I began to want to do my own first skydive. Well all the years that passed seemed to take forever. I finally reached 18, we went out to the drop zone to weigh me and see if I was light enough. Well it took a little while to get down to the correct weight but when I was it was go time. I was a nervous wreck when we got to the dropzone, little did I know how much more nervous I would be. I did the course and it was time to rock and roll, 20 min call and I am about to piss my pants. I get all my gear on and get a gear check, I am really ready to piss myself now. Get on the plane and takeoff, not to bad but I can still feel it. !2,500ft door opens and my mom leaves me with these words "See Ya" and she is gone. It was really go time, get into the door and start the countdown. Exit and bam it hits me this kicks ass! My first jump was on January, 21 2002. I have yet to get back due to school and all that crap that comes along with trying to graduate. But I can promise that as soon as I get the time and cash to jump again I will be back up there. Thats my little story. Thanks again everyone. David
  2. You all freggin ROCK. I had no idea that when I posted this I would get such a great pool of replies. I realy appriciate all of you taking time to help me on the project. I will do my best to use all of you in my paper and for those who gave me info on places to go for help you can bet on it that I will be there looking. Once again I just want to extend my thanks to all that helped out. David
  3. Sorry that it was so broad. I am really looking for some information on why the person started skydiving and what kept them in the sport. How they feel about advancements in the sport and what they see in the future for skydiving. I am trying to make it as interesting as possible for fellow classmates who enjoy sleeping in class and a teacher who is dull minded. I hope this helps. DBrggs
  4. Good morning, my name is David and I am a senior in high school. I have made one jump so far. I am writing this to see if I can get some help on my senior research paper. You see my mom is the all mighty skybytch, she knows a lot but I would like to get a lot of different views. My general topic is "Skydiving". I would like to incorporate many if not all of the main disiplines in the sport. If anyone has any information that they are willing to let me quote in my paper I would greatly appriciate it. Thank You for reading this post. DBrggs
