  1. Well, there is somethings I can fall in love with and not worry about drama later ... thanks for the tip Y yo, pa' vivir con miedo, prefiero morir sonriendo, con el recuerdo vivo". - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"
  2. Minor point: Venuzuela is within OPEC You are absolutely correct ... that was an incomplete thought as I was typing .... Venezuela will follow up with country-specific shipping reductions (meaning the US and its supporters)... we know the Chavez thing ... Thanks for bringing it up to my attention Y yo, pa' vivir con miedo, prefiero morir sonriendo, con el recuerdo vivo". - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"
  3. Done! - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"

  5. OPEC will almost certainly cut production. Production here in Alberta will have some reduction at this price level, and a lot at $40.00. Even in recession the price elasticity of demand in US can be expected to be high in this neighbourhood. Although China's demand is expected to be relatively flat it is still expected to be a rise, same for India. BTW I don't think $100M worth of hi-jacked oil will affect the price. I agree, OPEC will cut production, that's a given. Venuzuela will follow too... As for the hijacked tanker, it's more than the oil it is holding right now, it's the disruption to the supply chain. The 2 million barrels will not find its way to its destination, the schedule of thanker is disrupted, which "forces" Saudi Arabia to cut production due to "lack of storage facilities". Somebody has to throttle back a refinery because the oil didn't arrive and rework the forecast production schedule because future tanker shipments will be cut... all of it adds up to non-delivery of projected oil shipments.... And a tanker is just a "toke of appreciation" fired across the bow... pun intended.... God help us if a major refinery is next..... 6. You and your friend are in my prayers. - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"
  7. I think the feeling is that just as $145.00 was disproportionately speculator driven, so is the sub $70.00. I am not sure about the sub $70 price level to be speculation-driven... the demand had dried up and there is no near-term indicators of demand going up again .... However, that doesn't mean that the market manipulators will not create "events" to Venturi the oil supply ( Somalia Pirates comes to mind, read the papers today). The overheated oil prices opened a window of opportunity for alternative energy sources.... yes there was speculation on the markets driving the price up (temporary), but the Oil barrons will not let the high price give an opportunity to alternative sources (unless they had a chance at buying the sources).... Math is simple, open the window of opportunity, reveal the 'good ideas", crash the underlying opportunity (high oil prices), buy out the "good ideas" now in-debt and unable to bring to market, repeat cycle. Manipulation, that's all. Y yo, pa' vivir con miedo, prefiero morir sonriendo, con el recuerdo vivo". - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"

  13. In-and-Out is impossible and and oxymoron.... the only way it can happen is Out-then-In-and-then-possibly-Out .... Nothing can be approached from the inside... you have to be outside and there are not guarantees of getting out once you made it inside! - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"
  14. There are two options: 1) Give time it's course 2) Give yourself a reason to forget time Under option 2, getting fucked up the ass when you least expect it would help you forget about your hangover... Just a thought! - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"

  16. Chris: it would be un-American to be happy with the status-quo, whatever the situtation is .... You are just a Patriot ! - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"
  17. Well, when you talk like this.... how can ya blame them for the dumb looks!!! Accents are HOT!!! g I agree, accents are HOT ... I happen to have a weakness for female Aussie accents. - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"
  18. Hey! I'll hold him....you beat him! Oh no! Please dont! Hey, I was suggesting an ecologically-sound alternative.... lets not turn this into violence.... Second thought, I have some spare glasses you can break on each others' head.... PM me for quotes, lead crystal is at a premium, guaranteed to cause "drunkness-like" state of mind without spilling a single drop of precious wine. - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"
  19. My accent... I constantly have to evaluate the dumb look on people's faces... it would be so much easier if everyone spoke Spanish Y yo, pa' vivir con miedo, prefiero morir sonriendo, con el recuerdo vivo". - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"
  20. I should add to that : WOOT, WA, WOOT, WA, WA,WA,WA : Y yo, pa' vivir con miedo, prefiero morir sonriendo, con el recuerdo vivo". - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"
  21. "One of every 1,000 skydivers will die while jumping"... like any other phrase it is riddled with opportunities for interpretation. Consider the case when you are wearing a parachute on the way to altitude and the airplane experiences a malfunction resulting in 100% fatality of the occupants.... Question is: will the accident result in a skydiving fatality or a General Aviation (GA) fatality ... I also agree that skydiving statistics and probabilities are two different matters. If a skydiver chooses "higer degrees of risk" such as swooping, inadeaquate safety procedures, poorly maintained gear (including aircraft), then the odds of a fatal outcomen are higher for that particular skydiver. It creates a predictability factor but has minimal bearing on the odds of any other skydiver (unless they share the same traits). To put in contrast, the CDC published an study that 6.6 children in 1,000 are affected by autism... You will have to dig through the data to figure out the madness of the statement. - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"
  22. Assuming you are not buying the "wine in a box" container, the wine already comes in a "glass container"..... it would be ecologically sound, and less wasteful to just use the native container and forego the waste of massive amount of heated-silica display containers you are currently using. At the rate your are breaking glasses, you will be driving the price of glass through the roof ! - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"
  23. I agree with Spence... the system is rigged to allow this kind of non-sense to even make it to the courts. And this is just one example of a civil matter, there are criminal cases which only have validity because the courts and the lawyers can impose insane amounts of money on prolonging the case. I offer a simple solution for civil cases. Both parties are sequestered until the reach an agreement, without legal advise and only common sense to guide them. Upon reaching an agreement, the agreement is subject to a panel of Judges revision to rule out any illegal provisions of the agreement. Back to sequestering the parties to the suit until the agreement is legal and both parties agree to forever settle that claim. Puts some skin on the game, cuts out "lawyerism" and by using a panel, it reduces (although not eliminates) blatant corruption. Oh, one more thing... - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"
  24. I leave it to Jeff Foxworthy to explain (see top item on the list) : http://www.countryhumor.com/redneck/mightbe.htm Y yo, pa' vivir con miedo, prefiero morir sonriendo, con el recuerdo vivo". - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"
  25. Pablo Picasso - for this pioneering work in cubism. As a child, I was mesmerized by his work... it was like looking into the clouds and finding forms and shapes that were not intended to be there. It also had a puzzle quality to the work .... yet it gave sharp lines to match the puzzle (hard to explain)... it's one of the art-inspired movements that expanded way beyond the mere expression of art... yet so simple in concept. Salvador Dali - like Picasso, and explorer of recognizable shapes into a more fluid, less line-prone landscape. Unlike Picasso, Dali's own figure became a recognizable icon ... it could be drawn in a minimalistic fashion.... Flairful and colorful personality reflected in his work.... Wow, this is the first smart question on DZ.com ... you owe BEER :-) Y yo, pa' vivir con miedo, prefiero morir sonriendo, con el recuerdo vivo". - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"
