  1. Well me and my friend are 90% we'll be there, but you already know that You'll have other turbine aircrafts? which ones? p.s.: how much is beer there? "George just lucky i guess!"
  2. If you want to play it safe and be a good swooper someday, you won't/can't get bored on 170 for at least another 400 jumps. If you're buying this canopy for less than 200 jumps, i'd recomend something in 200-220 range. Unles you wanna rush it and risk... just my thoughts... "George just lucky i guess!"
  3. you mean like: Wingtips of the canopy produce a lot of induced drag. Lower pressure at the top of the canopy and the higher pressure at the bottom want to mix because of difference in pressure of course. At the middle cells of the canopy, the canopy is between these two pressures for the most part (except at the trailing edge and behind). but at the wingtips where the canopy ends, those two pressure mix. and the vortices are made (those vortices can be seen behind any airplane that has some smoke trailing). And these vortices are part of the induced drag of the canopy. And the higher the aspect ratio of the wing is the less that induced drag from wingtips is noticed comparing to the lift the canopy produces. 9 cells are wings with higher aspect ratio than 7 cells that why it's better performing wing. With eliptical canopies Aspect ratio is calculated a little different but just to get the point, for square canopies aspect ratio = Span / Chord. Same applies to 21 vs 27 cell canopies. why not making even higher aspect ratio canopies you ask? Because the higher the aspect ratio the funkier the openings will get. that's why reserves are all 7 cell canopies (or 5). HUH, i hope i explained that corectly... "George just lucky i guess!"

    What??????

head down of course "George just lucky i guess!"
  5. No Because i have two sharp teeth in my mouth. and i think those weren't ment to be there to tear veggies apart "George just lucky i guess!"
  6. i'm using Sony PC 109 with 0.25 lens (waycool blackeye). Sidemounted on bonehead optik with handmade d-box which is actually molded on the helmet without any gaps where lines could get in (somwhat like ff2 from 2Kcomposites) though the helmet (optik) is way more comfortable... 7. well it depends a little on what lense do you use i use pc 109E and black eye (0.25) lense. I set it on aoutofocus and point the camera at the object that is about 3m or more away and then, pointed at the same object, i turn the manual focus on and leave it as it is (focused). I don't use any program AE or effects or anything. Everything else is on auto. But i still have to experiment with tandems, because so far i only did FreeFly and it works perfect for that. 8. If you were searching www.extremefly.com, you were searching at the wrong place. You should search at www.atair.si, but that page is still under construction so it won't help you any. This canopy is made in Slovenia like all the other atair products, and then it's sent to all the other companies like atair USA, performance variable,.... And it's not sold in US (atair usa) yet as far as i know. I'm not sure whether this canopy already is in massive production, but i think it is. If you need a contact number send me an PM. 9. Have you considered blackeye from waycool? It's 0.25 (the widest so far if i'm right) and it's very light and small. i have that setup (pc109 with blackeye) and i get aprox. 90 degrees of view. and they also make the lens with 25mm thread so you don't need any step up/down ring... you can find more info on the lens here http://www.waycool.com.au/html/products/black-eye-0.25-lens.htm "George just lucky i guess!"
  10. haha and besides fleas you'll be more or less sleepy the next day, because the kitten won't let you sleep. "George just lucky i guess!"
  11. I just came back from kolomna. i have one advice: don't register your visa there, it will cost you more than a fine you have to pay if they get you with unregistered visa... Otherwise, everything is perfect, except for the showers and toilets if you'll be staying at the DZ. "George just lucky i guess!"
  12. Left some warm water from the showers for us (Grega,Jerry81), we're coming on monday evening if Jerry81 will finally manage to get our visas from our embassy "George just lucky i guess!"
  13. Hmm you are definitely right, that all should know you can swoop with big canopies too. But the key is in training. Even with navigator 280 you can get seriously hurt if you dive into the ground, meaning that you try to do 360 but are way too low. So the only way to really solve this accidents is by strict regulations and TSO checking each and everyone's canopies and skills. If we want to have it safe i think it will have to go the way airplanes did. You simply have to have a licence for each specific airplane and you can get the licence by training under supervision. Similar should be with canopies. I think this is the only way. People are just way too different to make some default regulations for how many jumps which canopy and which loading. Some have huuge egos, some want to swoop only to show off, other don't want to ever do a turn lower than 300feet,... You can have 2000 jumps and fly whatever you want? what if the person has 2000 jumps on parafoil with nothing but straight in approaches. Or you can have a supernatural talent that is reasonable, and is waaay capable of flying a better canopy at less jumps than the general regulations restrict... Training for each canopy and each wingloading is the only solution if you ask me... Sure you'll have to pay for the training, but that's the way it is for everything in the world (cars, airplanes, boats,...) Just my thoughts.. "George just lucky i guess!"
  14. Heh talking about limits. Limit is always pushed further. so theoreticaly if time is irelevant, there is no limit !!! What Brian is affraid is that Luigi will try to push the limit to fast and go beyond it There only lucky coincidences can save you, if at all... "George just lucky i guess!"
  15. All of you who regulary jump at Aerograd or know who to contact about some questions there: I have a problem contacting with organizer or owner of the DZ aerograd kolomna in russia. They just don't answer my emails. So if anyone knows, can you please tell me an e-mail of an organizer or the owner of a dz so i can get some answers before leaving my humble home... Is it that maybe they don't understand english ??? Btw i already sent an email to: hugo72@mail.ru Thanks "George just lucky i guess!"
  16. One more question to all who have been in aerograd before: Is 3rd party insurance mandatory there? I have it for all the europe, but i don't think that includes russia And can i get it on there (on dz aerograd), if yes, for what price? "George just lucky i guess!"
  17. I heard they have totaly different surroundings (one is almost dessert the other is green.) Is that true? "George just lucky i guess!"
  18. Freeflying girls !!! "George just lucky i guess!"
  19. HAHA, it's funny reading all the posts an assumptions, when knowing all the answers. I was there looking at it alive. Well it sure was awesome, you could count his fingers from the ground, cause he was flying that close to the ground. Not to mention the whistling noise he was making in the flyby over the crowd. And no he didn't flare, he was too low to open his zippers on the arms of the wingsuit as you can see Oh and the rig is base rig he regulary jumps, i think. "George just lucky i guess!"
  20. cool, jerry81 if we won't find any cheaper way. that's our option.. padraigbrowne: but where will you register your stay? or will you sleep at the hotel. (you go to kolomna right?) Because jerry81 and i intend to use the free camping at the dz (btw does anyone know if they have showers with warm water or something like that at kolomna) "George just lucky i guess!"
  21. First time? oooh off course, you attended this exam several times... "George just lucky i guess!"
  22. Huh since you said hook knife is mandatory for some countries. Does anybody know if it's mandatory for russia (aerograd kolomna to be precise) ?? "George just lucky i guess!"
  23. luckily he had his umbrela with him "George just lucky i guess!"
  24. pssst, i don't do drugs... And you're right, toggles could get tangled. Haven't though about that. "George just lucky i guess!"
