  1. What?!? That's... what?... Just what would make you say such a thing?.... What? I know you already know this but UN stands for United Nations! If you feel they are acting 'holier than thou' towards the US, it's because a LARGE cross-section of the PLANET beleive the US should clean up it's act a bit. American fights Americas wars... you know that just as well as I do. We are talking about Saddam still right? 'cause he hasn't attacked the U.S... thus the US attacking him really isn't 'defending yourselves' from anything. If we want a global nation, fine. Let's put it to a vote. I say disband the UN and let everybody think for themselves. It has outlived it's usefulness and has become the all-powerful wizard. You are mistaken here, the UN is the only thing going for non-americans that wish to think for themselves (Vs. just going along with whatever the States does) Yeah, the UN wants it whereas the States are almost afraid of the word. 2. Only time will tell. Being shy IS being anti-social. A shy person, however, will 'come around' or 'warm up' to you where as an anti-social person will not. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  3. Quote Leave it to the clueless to infer something negative from the lens caps. [\reply] Ouch! That's pretty harsh... I'm not 'clueless' but I still lauged at the pic.. Read my captions... get it? hahaha... I knew you would. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  4. Bwaahaahaa! What a dumpass! Captions for that pic?: Soldier on right: "So if you look at the target area, Mr. President, you'll see that we have totally blacked out the enemy base. " Bush: "Oh, uh, yeah, now I, um, see what y'all are talking about. Good job you guys!" Soldier on left (thought bubble): "What an ass! " lol My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  5. I liked Joe Hermans story the best. The guys in freefall and grabs another guy in freefall. He doesn't even know it and he does a Mr. Bill!!! I guess they should have noted that as another survival technique: Be on the lookout for other, smarter travelers who are wearing parachutes. If you can fly to them and hold on, their chute becomes your chute
  6. This is true but what if you want people killed and stuff broken PLUS you don't want to have to risk any soldiers? In order for war to exist, the people of both sides have to ask themselves "Are we willing to fight and die for this cause?" The answer must obviously be an astounding YES! if they indeed DO go out and fight or send their children to die. When a third party stands to benefit, or even just 'wants' to lend a hand, another phenomenon occurs altogether. To the third party, both the level of risk (involvment) and the level of benefit (outcome) are variables... The case of Al Queda vs. the Soviets, is a direct example of what happens when a third party wants into the fray but doesn't think it's worth fighting for (thus the use of proxy groups) Right! Wrong! The UN should be the power that finally overthrows Saddam. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  7. Oh, I must have been mis-informed.. Does everybody in Saudi Arabia drive a Bentley?... Oh just the tirants? I see. The roads are sand and not pavement why? Are they not rich like us? What do the heads of our oil/petrol companies drive? Nothing, they are chauffered around in limos and flown around in their private Jets! I'm sorry, I refuse to beleive that just because all of the money we do give them goes to a small few (thereby making them rich enough to drive Bentleys eheh) that we are justified in our actions. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  8. Very true, this is the common belief... However... They are not waging war against the most powerful Contry in the World because we treat our women semi-equal... True this eats them up but man, if that were the only thing, then we would have found a way to compromise and co-exist. The simple fact is, there is more that that. You said it yourself: Do you think this is because the U.S. cares about their women? Because we try to change this part of their culture on a daily basis? NO! All hatred for the states stems from the extraction of oil and the complete disregard for where it is coming from. We are rich, they are poor, We export our 'natural resorces' for money and we take theirs away for peanuts... That's what this is all about... Now they are highly religious, the U.S. is losing it's faith more and more everyday. Oh, I guarantee there will be non-petroleum vehicles.... But do you think American Government would allow them to hit the market until it stops making such a profit from the sale of petroleum? No, when sources are ultra low and gas is $7.00/litre, then you will see real non-petroleum vehicles and guess what else? You won't be able to afford them in you live in the middle east. 9. Has any country ever asked? If I take care of my house, my neighbor has no reason to make a request. Many third world countries are taking the bucks and looking the other way. Whenever another country wants a criminal/terrorist etc. and that person is in the U.S., there is usually quite a diplomatic process whereby the states provides said criminal/terrorist protection until they figure out what's going on, then, if need-be, they deport said criminal, terrorist etc to the country asking for justice as they see fit. There is a huge difference between that and saying:"Sure, just fly over here and bomb them on U.S. soil!". There's no way in hell you guys would allow Mexico into Arizona. You'd say:"Screw that! We don't want you causing sh*T on our turf! Who you looking for anyway? Don't you worry your Mexican heads about it, we'll call you when we have them all rounded up." That's the problem here. That's why people don't like the U.S. Because if it isn't the U.S., it isn't shit! Your average American did not give a Sh*T about these problems until there was an attack "on American Soil" Oooohhh Ahhhhh. 3000 Americans dead! Believe me when I say I think it's tragic and I'm not trying to belittle it but your average American did not care about the countless lives lost outside their own narrow field of vision before, and they won't after... Unless it's a loss of American lives. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  10. You raise an important point here bill. When asked why they beleive there is such hatred for the states in these areas, I am suprized at the number of people (US/CAN)that just say: "Because they're f**king crazy!!" If you don't accept that as answer, you get attitude like your a traitor. Honnestly now, how many of you think there is absolutely no reason that anybody should want to see the fall of the American Empire? It is true that your average Afgani harbours deep resentment and hatred for the U.S. They truly beleive that you are evil incarnate... The U.S. is the 'big-dog' there's no doubt about that but unless it goes through the UN with everything, it is a 'big-dog' without a leash... Nobody like that. The booby-trapped toys is an example of how we can take similar actions on both sides and make ours honnorable, theirs disgusting. Don't you think if you lived there, you would not be thinking in reverse? There were no explosive rubix-cubes, or Barbie-doll grenades, there was merely a comment made about how some of the children pick these things up thinking of them as toys (likely because the don't have rubix-cubes or Barbie dolls). We just jumped on that chance to further the mud-slinging. Anyway, I just thought I'd try to slip into this interesting thread. I do not have the worlds solutions at my figertips but I will say this: I don't trust either Bush as far as I could throw them... I don't think they hold anyones interests in mind but their own... and I thus beleive that ALL military actions proposed by the U.S. should indeed be subject to the approval of the U.N. 11. I did my first jump with three friends from highschool... One of which was absolutely PETRIFIED of heights but decided to come and jump with us to 'get over it'... I'm a pilot and what I've hear in general is that most people, clinicaly declared affraid of heights, are still able to fly in airplanes without discomfort... This friend of mine was no exception until they oppened the door... then he began to shake like a 'tickle-me Elmo' hahaha. He climbed out and froze on the strut (C182), the instructor actually let my other pal kick him out. It was a real riot. On the ground he said it was the best experience of his life, that he froze not from fear of height but ... well, you know... 'perfectly good airplane and all'. He was, however, very nervous under canopy and since it was S/L, he HAD to stay there. To this day, he says he is cured of his fear of heights. I know a few regular skydivers that say they pull as low as they can to avoid being suspended 'to high' under canopy... crazy My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  12. I DO! I DO!! Where do I sign up? My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!

  14. Bwahaahaa! That's the funniest (and likely the most truthful) post to this poll thread yet! It also depends on whats on TV in half-an-hour, how long 'til gear up and go, wether or not you care about her climaxing - or for the younger ones: Are her parents coming home soon? haha My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  15. This is a generalization... I would have to say the women at my DZ are treated fairly and equally there just aren't enough of them. I just looked in the women only forums and one thread caught my eye "Breasts and Tracking"... Look at the first lines in this one... This forum gives the ladies a change to bring these things up without hassle.. You see, the men are not prohibited from posting there. They just can't burst into "breasts and tracking" with a one-linner like BOOBIES! Anyway, I'd say "where's the Men Only forum" if the sport was divided up 50-50 but it isn't. If fact, as Phree said: My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!

Anybody seen this one before? Get real close to your monitor, stare directly into the centre of the circle and count a slow 30 seconds. Then, without moving it, look to your hand... Pretty trippy! http://www.magicbobweiss.com/illusion3.html Hey, can anybody tell me how to 'name' the hyperlinks... I had it figured out once but can't remember. BEER rules

I think first jump at a new DZ is an excellent reason to buy beer! I would tend to think most jumpers would buy a case if going to a DZ they've never been to before just because. What I don't agree with is being forced to buy it by a non-jumper... WTF is that all about? If a non-jumper ever told me "That's a beer" I'd probably say something like "Yeah, too bad your not getting any f*cking whuffo!" lol j/k, I wouldn't be so harsh but I still don't like the concept. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  23. They've been working on that thing for YEARS now! I remember them talking about how they were testing the first 'working' prototype and the pic in the article was the same as the one in this article... Makes you wonder... Pretty nifty looking machine though.. I'd love to see it in action. Nick My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  24. WTF indeed... Uhm I'm not very com-puh-ta savy so uhm...???.. what happened to my com-puh-ta when I clicked on the attachment? My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
