Yes, providing a link with no information means what your are claiming that supports your position is not there. I have directly addressed this about a half a dozen times here. Your denial is just that. Yeah, all those professionals with years and years of education and experience are ALL operating on emotion............NOT. It is consistently clear by even the most casual of observers how little you know about this entire incident. You are still clueless beyond belief. You know nothing of how our teams work, who responds us, who we report to or how our (not yours) country works or its structure in incidents like this. Wrong again. YOU have still failed to debunk a single fact that I have presented. No, but you are incorrectly basing your question as to all the contributing factors. Available fuel was only one of the components. In the end, the FACT is that out of the 10 teams and over 720 responders not a single one has ever supported YOUR claims. Please keep the delusions going because with every post you make it gets weaker and weaker.

Yes, YOU should. I have provided you with MY first hand expert account, something you are not able to because you were not there nor do you have the education, experience or background to do so. You have not submitted a single report on the incident, I have. NASA imagery that you reference I was immediately able to send you a photo of that is hanging in my office that was used for our daily briefings, you were able to provide nothing more than what you have posted from the web which included dead links. YOU sacrificed NOTHING, risked NOTHING so it is clear that YOU are the one that needs to "grow a backbone" and admit the truth that you have been unable to dispute any evidence that I have presented.

If health care passes with the public option.....

If health care passes with the public option.....

I missed this in my last poll. Unfortunately this IS a partisan issue as the Republicans voted that Congress should be on the same plan as all other Americans and the Democrats voted against it. My question is why should the people that we elect to serve US have something more that we can have ourselves? To me, the exception to this would be for our military, they should have the best that we can give them because they give us their best and pay the price for all of us to have our freedom. -

How many worlds are we talking about? I am talking about planet Earth (sorry, had to be said) On this we both agree, I was just addressing you as a Vet. Also, if we had to implement HC in stages I think the those who serve/served in the military should be at the top. We are just viewing it differently, you are looking at how it helps the corporation and I am looking at how it helps the person that needs it. Except that is not what I was addressing. You were talking about volunteerism and how bad it was that according to you we had to do it because of our bad system and I said that volunteerism shows what is best in us, nothing bizarre about it. -
How would you like health care to be?

So let me see if I understand, you want to "shitcan" my health care insurance because YOURS is bad????????? What is wrong with having National coverage for all Americans and leave my plan alone? I am not trying to take anything from you, why are you trying to take my care away from me? -

We are not a civilized country? According to whom, YOU? Again, volunteerism is not always required for basic needs. Look at TN, they pride themselves for their volunteerism. Some cultures would rather have and choose a volunteer system. I agree with you there, rubber is an excellent word to describe you Not a veteran, tried to volunteer but was rejected as a result of a disability so I spent 20 years in the public service. For what it is worth, I think all vets should have quality health care for life. I do question though why you would not help your fellow citizens by donating blood unless you get your way? Seems pretty selfish to me. Why are you punishing your fellow Americans for what your Government may or may not do? And I would say it defines what is good in people! -
How would you like health care to be?
mike_forsythe replied to mike_forsythe's topic in Speakers Corner
No, not at all. I own my home and don't have a mortgage or debt. I live within my means. I only have one credit card and that is so I can rent cars when I travel. So my statement stands, I don't pay less income tax because I own a home. -
How would you like health care to be?
mike_forsythe replied to mike_forsythe's topic in Speakers Corner
Okay, it has been about a day and some of the results are pretty interesting and there were a few surprises that I did not expect. The first thing that awes me is that out of over 4000 pages of proposed legislation only one person doesn’t understand!!!!! I can’t believe that everyone else understands all of the options. The second response that kind of surprised me is that the people here tend to be more liberal and while congress has staunchly refused to address tort reform it seems to be the most important issue here. Probably the biggest poll item that I missed and would like to know about is do you think that congress should be on the same plan as everyone else? Based on what I see here it would seem that the most cost effective and fastest changes that could be made as a start to change our health care system that are clearly supported by a super majority is no denial of health care for pre-existing conditions, tort reform, removal of state restricted access to all insurance plans and some form of basic care availability for all Americans. All except the last item would have a minimal financial impact, promote more competition and could likely reduce cost. The biggest issue that I have with how congress is approaching this is an all or nothing. This begs the question, WHY? If you passed the above less the last item (yes I will get to that one) then you could have it passed quickly and at least have a start. Now for the issue of basic health care for all, I agree with Bill about having basic health care for all Americans and insurance for everything else. I also think that we have become and entitlement generation that is going to bankrupt this country quickly. As a balance to offset the cost and help self support health care and education I would propose that ALL Americans upon becoming adults shall serve for four years in either the military or government. In return, basic health care for life will be provided and up to four years of college. As for how I view the present health care system and the proposals I will start with saying that I personally have very good employer supported insurance. My employer provides basic coverage at no cost to all employees (15,000+) and other plans with additional fees to the employee. I have the highest plan offered and it cost me $16.87 a week for individual coverage. As an example of the coverage, a little over two years ago I had a total hip replacement and my total out of pocket cost were around $300 including surgery, RX and PT. I do think that there should be a National health care plan for all Americans. The problem is the way that it is being approached it is a disaster and will probably fail Americans both medically and financially. I also think there should be a National plan for RX. There is a reason why so many Americans order their RX from Canada! As for tort reform there has to be a way to eliminate the frivolous claims that are driving cost up and still protect us from gross negligence. I am for the pre-tax breaks for having insurance. It promotes better health care and helps the economy. -

??????????? Please explain and give an example of this. I own a home and it changes nothing on my taxes. -
Your asking this of someone that does not even know how many buildings were involved? ROTFLMAO
-
Keep showing how out there your views are and how little you know. You don't know me or anyone else that was there to make such insane untrue statements. YOU are clueless as to what caring is about. Did you spend one fucking minute there trying to find survivors.....I DID. Did you have to face a single grieving spouse, son, daughter friend in total frustration that you could not bring home their loved one? Did you spend so many days cutting out body parts with a battery saw that you had to change batteries 3-4 times a shift? Did you have to form two lines and stand at attention out of respect several times a night as the bodies of fellow firefighters and police officers were escorted out with their families as we found them and identified them? You say that I “dismiss all you want based on your biased and staunch, closedminded opinion” and I say till you have been there and been through what I have and have to live the rest of your life with what I do YOU KNOW NOTHING!!!

No, arrived on the morning of the 12th. For what? The source of the initial impact, first collapse, compromised structural integrity, air quality data, etc. You need to be a little more vague. What part of "I had nothing to do with NIST" don't you understand? All three? You need to learn how to count. Tell me you have not spewed all this crap and don't even know how many building were involved. The primary reason for all building damage was collapse secondary to compromised structural integrity. Also NONE of the buildings fell "through the path of greatest resistance". Do you know anything about engineering or what happened? At all? I have no idea what you are referring to as our report was filled in 2001 and to my knowledge has never been edited. How about the report you filed? Oh, that's right, YOU WEREN’T THERE! Are you under a doctors care? According to whom? You? ROTFLMA Excuse us for not consulting your wisdom...........NOT I have never made any such claim and have addressed the issue in a prior post. Again, do you know what you are talking about and it was not weeks, it was months. It was the longest burning structure in history. Have you done ANY credible research? By the way, attached is one of many poster NASA pictures that you speak of that is on the wall of my office that we used for daily briefings. Now show me yours!!! Total unrestricted access for 11 days. 24 hours a day. How much time did you spend there?

Many of sky to earth landlubbers here have succumbed to the almighty Rum Runners of boogies past!!!!! Arrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!! Nearly 500 gallons of the Blood Rum lie in wait, aging for a time to come when the Rum Runners of past will flow again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No accusation, that is your area. I have only stated facts which you have not been able to dispute a single item. As for NIST, take that up with them, I was not part of that unit, have no reason to be involved with them nor would I comment recklessly as you have about them or any other agency without having first hand knowledge of the evidence that they have and or using. The facts that I have posted still stand.

The only thing that you have personally done is read and as we all know, everything on the internet and what people say is true and indisputable……………NOT. You have NEVER been able or responded to my challenge to you and it still stands! I was personally there as part of the USAR response. You were NOT. I am an engineer. You are NOT. By the way, I love it when you post dead links as evidence!!! ROTFLMAO I was part of a team that took hazardous material, air and metallurgy samples. You were NOT. I was there and saw the real time raw data coming from the EPA monitoring equipment. You were NOT. Our 72 person response team (one of 10 there) is comprised of structural engineers, hazardous materials specialist, doctors, technical search specialist, heavy rescue specialist, communications, logistics etc. You are NOT any of these! None of our specialist that was physically there saw anything to support what you have claimed. In conclusion, the ONLY word that consistently describes your participation, education, experience and knowledge to the WTC response is……………………… NOT!!! THIS STILL STANDS IT IS CLEAR THE BEST YOU CAN DO IS REGURGITATE ONLY WHAT YOU READ ON THE WEB!!! By the way, I love it when you post dead links as evidence!!!

Well I am nowhere near the top so I guess that statement is not true. Nor would I expect someone like you too.....your own sarcasm back at you! You didn't really think that I would expect someone with your post history and views to admit that they were wrong, hurtful and insensitive to care and apologize for it? But you could prove me wrong and do the decent thing........ball is in your court. How? Show me where I said the system does not need to be improved and care for all at least at the basic level should be provided. Again you are projecting your prejudice as someone else’s, move on and quit putting words that don't exist in others mouths. No, I guess you don't know what the word volunteer means, I didn't "have" to do anything, it was a choice to help others. My question is what are you doing to help your country? I don't think you are either but "we" as you stated does not include me and to quote you "I don't think that I am alone" either. Thank you, helping other has given me some of the greatest joy in my life. -

You really need to quit trying to think of what people are thinking, especially when you are wrong. It is very clear by your hostile response that you missed my point. You stated that because you are an American you don't have health care and I stated that I am an American and do have health care. The point being that you can be American and have health care. Since I spent over 10 years and thousands of hours in both our county and others providing heath care on a voluntary basis regardless of rather or not the patients had insurance or the ability to pay I accept your apology for implying that I don't care or want everyone to have health care. There, I corrected it for YOUR views. -

mike_forsythe replied to Gawain's topic in Speakers Corner
No. Tell us how you imagine this country would be if we were not “run/owned by corporations”. Do you think we would be better if we were only run/owned by the government? The reality is that more and more everyday both government and corporations will more tightly run our lives the way THEY want. Since 85% of the population has HC it is by definition the norm or normal. It is not the norm or normal to not have HC………….yes/no? -

Well I'm an American and I have great health care. It is affordable, the quality is very good and I have not had any claims or services denied. I'm glad I don't live in your America. -
You are wrong again as I addressed it in your original thread. Again this type statement shows what you don't know or have the education, experience or knowledge of Rescue response, recovery and post investigation as they are all separate disciplines in which it is very clear that you know nothing about. Wrong again. I am not claiming I am an expert, I am stating it as fact. I have testified in the court system as an accepted expert, I am an instructor at the State Fire College, I am an engineer with over 20 years experience so what are your credentials to question me? yes No as I don't know what they said. Neither, here you go again showing what you don't know. The response teams operate under SOPR's and only they determine what we do. They apply to all events so there is no "do whatever you want". That would be something that an uneducated person would ask. I have no idea what NEST did or what data they used as it not only has nothing to do with what we do but it would be after the fact of our response. What do you want to know about the hot spots, can you be any more vague? For me to discuss the data that we had you would have to go get an education and about 10 years experience in order to understand it. That is unless you really want to try and convince us with your knowledge of thermal pressure, trauma and chemical tissue destruction.

Wow, such words of subjective wisdom with nothing to back it. If your profile is correct, you should come back when you have more jumps than my dog before blessing us with such wisdom. As for Racers, this is my two cents worth. For those that don't know me, I worked at Jump Shack for a couple of years doing sales, rigging and training. I also was the Engineering Manager at RWS (now UPT) and developed that canine special ops training for CPS. The Pros: Jump Shack has been in business for over 35 years. The Racer is a very light, simple proven design and the most comfortable rig that I have ever jumped. The reserve pin protection has no peer. The tandem system comes in at about 38lbs. If the rig is so bad according to some, why do people such as John LeBlanc and a couple of moderators jump them? Jump Shack is one of a very few companies that builds complete systems right down to the pins! The Cons: The double sided RSL needs to be forever banned and never made again. I was horrified to hear John Sherman blame a jumper for an out of sequence deployment that resulted in a total malfunction. There are too many proven designs that work and are not affected by this out of sequence deployment and as such this design should not exist in production. Other than required test and training jumps, I never stopped jumping my Racer even when I was the Engineering Manager designing other systems. As I told one owner of a company when asked why I still jumped my Racer, “I will keep jumping my Racer until someone makes a more comfortable and lighter container”. I still jump a Racer!
