Thanks for the input guys. I am debating between an S and an X and was told about this. I thought it could be the perfect solution.

I was told Tonysuits would make a custom S Bird suit with the X Bird Tail. Has anyone ever flown one of these? How are the flight characteristics compared to the S and X?

Zippers leaving brown stain and residue on P2Z?
abean3 replied to abean3's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I have a new Phantom 2Z with approximately 25 jumps on it. I did 5 jumps with it this last weekend and when i unhooked it to put it up I noticed a thick brown stain/residue on the flaps that cover the shoulder/arm detachment zippers. The stains and residue were on both sides of the flap. The stains had the same pattern and lines of the zipper. The fabric is neon green parapack. I had all stand up landings and packed on clean carpet so that fabric only came in contact with the zipper and the container which is also clean and brand new. What could cause this? The zippers are clean and not rusty in the least, but I was located in Delaware and the day was hot and humid. Any information about the cause, or if this could affect the structural integrity of the fabric would be great. I washed it with mild detergent in cold water, but it did not help :( -
Hey thanks for the input guys. I am looking to use it for coaching and eventually AFF. I want more range in speed than my freefly suit has to offer with out having a ton of material like you mentioned. Do any of you know which material is more breathable/hot? Just curious because heavy material in the summer can be a bit toasty.

Does anyone have any knowledge of the difference between Bevsuits Polycotton and Tonysuits 4-ply? For us heavier jumpers (6'3, 240 lbs) needing extra lift to stay with slower/smaller jumpers, does one material offer more drag, comfort, or performance than the other?

Thanks for all the input guys! I'm pretty pumped about the new canopy. I will be using it mostly for Wingsuiting and coaching for this year and hopefully AFF next year. I wanted a stable canopy and this seemed like the best option.

Hey guys, I flew a pilot and really enjoyed the openings and glide ratio. I decided to order a pilot 188 for my new rig. I will be loading it at 1.38/1. So what have all of you pilot owners thought about your experience with your canopy? I have seen old posts on here, but am really interested in those who have owned a pilot manufactured in the last few years. Any input about performance and experience (Likes, dislikes, tip, or advice) would be more than great!

I would definately rent a Phantom if it was available. The only rentals i have seen are the wicked suites which are all tony suits. Does anyone know of a place that rents Phoenix Fly suits?

Well I ordered a Phantom 2 lime green and black! I almost went with the Ghost but I stuck with the Phantom. I am thinking about renting an T-bird while i wait on the suit if it is going to take 8+ weeks to make

Well it was awesome. It felt natural and I didn't have any difficulties with exit, flight, or deployment. I know I probably only used 10% of the suits ability but the basic flying was great. My coach did recommend a bigger suit for my weight but I really enjoyed the phantom. I plan on flying more suits as I get the opportunity and will probably make several more jumps in the phantom. Any thoughts on the R bird and Ghost 3?

Thanks to all for the input. I am taking the first flight course this weekend and starting with a Phantom 2. We'll see how that goes.

Yeah i figured someone would say something to that effect. But i have looked through the forums and found very little info for some one my size looking for a new wingsuit. All i see are 5'8, 155 and there is a little bit of a difference there.

Well I am wanting to order my first wingsuit and wanted to get some expert advise from some of you seasoned veterans. I am interested in either a Tony suit or a Pheonix Fly, but can not decide. I am about to break 200 jumps and am assuming with the current production times will have closer to 225 or so when i finally get it. I want a good all around suit that i can not only learn on, but also progress so i am not really interested in one of the beginner suits. I want to be able to fly with groups but also fly acrobatics with time. Also I am a larger jumper at 6'3 and 235 so I need something that will be good for someone my size. I was looking at a Tonysuit T-bird or R-bird as well as a Phantom 2. So what do you all think? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!
