I am interested in peoples view on this. My PC's have non load tapes and are non AV. The people who make these PC's have a valid argument for the reasonings for this. The people I speak to about the negative side also have valid points. I see both sides and my feelings do lead me to believe that load taped and AV do help stop oscilation in some situations - (higher air speed) . I know of several jumps I have had with with Off Heading are caused by the PC oscilation (review of video) . Maily this is caused by the way I have thrown my PC on some jumps (I no longer throw this way!!) . Others where I "place" my PC I have had no problem with OH (other factors have effected this ). As has been mentioned on LOW jumps (as most of mine are ) is there a real advantage of load taped AV PC's? I would like some views to either comfirm my thoughts, cancel my thoughts or open my eyes to other areas! My opinion (that is worth $hit) is that the way the PC is thrown and folded has more effect on the way it acts. Be safe........... be a newbie thinking about things and wanting opinions..........

I keep a log book - but its a personal record for me to flick through and remember some of the jumps I have made and smile! As you said - making up numbers is cheating yourself - you cant make up the memories which is why I log jumps. I beleive that most if not all jumpers will not lie about their jump numbers. my opinion is that a FJC does not open doors like that. It just shows you that you know shit and need to learn more. In countries where the BASE population is small - it does not open doors. it still take alot of hard work to get with experienced people! just my 2 low altitude freefalls worth!! Be Safe

no as i said before some associations look badly upon BASE - so if you are associated with skydiving there is a possibility of being banned from skydiving because you BASE - bringing the sport into disrepute - bad PR! not because of elitism - if anything skydivers are worse at thinking they are "special"!!!!! No it is not.......... FF/RW/CRW/Accuracy/style/swooping/skysurf etc are forms of skydiving....... BASE is nothing like skydiving except you hang under a canopy........same as paragliding is not a form of skydiving......... completly different sports! Be safe...........

i only posted that as if you are found "skydiving" off something and it perhaps published in the news paper as "man caught skydiving" off building - it could be seen as bringing the sport (sport parachuting) into disrepute and thus the individual may than be banned from their national association!! just an observation on how the media and the constant connection between two seperate sports are a possible problem! "skydivers leap off" Why Skydivers??? Would the publicity be better suited keeping these two sports seperate? Especially in regards to how some associations of skydiving will throw people out for bringing the sport into disrepute and although seen as seperate if your called a skydiver doing this and get hurt / arrested etc etc (bad PR for the association etc) then technically you are bringing the sport into disrepute............. just my 2 groats worth....... Well technically this is so - I mean you cant actually get charged with "BASE jumping" but they will try and charge you for "breach of the peace" or "wreckless endangerment" or "causing undue stress" and any other imaginative thing the old bill can dream up when they catch you. I would be interested to hear if any of the UK jumpers have had their collars felt and what the out come was.
