  1. WELCOME!!! Dont let a little cold weather stop you. I mean, people ski, snowmobile, ice fish, ice climb and all kinds of other winter sports. As long as the DZ is open and you dress right winter jumps can be beautiful. We jump all year in Idaho (weather permiting). Congrats on getting started! See you in the jump plane soon!
  2. Hello and welcome! This sport has a way of pulling people in after the first jump. You say your first jump was a million zillion years ago... Ill bet you still think about it all the time like it was just yesterday. Thats part of the attraction. Its just good fun that creates a lifetime of memories. Hope to see you in the sky soon! Blue skies!
  3. Welcome Dave! I also got into skydiving about your age and have ongoing back issues from playing too hard in my past. As long as you pay attention to what your body is telling you... and your instructor... you should be fine. Keep up the good work!

    Dogbook

Since we see someones face and recognize them and its called "Facebook"... and dogs smell the ass to recognize them... Wouldnt it be called "Assbook"?
  5. I had the time of my life at the Boogie!!! Thanks to all that made it possible!!! And a special thanks to Grannyinthesky for one of the funnest jumps Ive ever done. I cant wait till next year!!!
  6. GOOD JOB!!! I remember the feeling of passing each step. Getting a little more comfortable with my skills each time. Now is when it really starts to get fun!
  7. Well... tonight I made my first night jump and it was AMAZING!!!!!! I only got to do one but Ill be back out to do more later. Even with all the people telling me I would be able to see I was worried right up till the door opened and I could see suprizingly well. In freefall I was really amazed at how beautiful the city lights were and once I was under canopy (deployed at 5000 ft) I kinda just hung there and enjoyed every last minute of the scenery. Gawd I want to do it again!!!
  8. Im really thinkin about doing some night jumps... Im pretty sure Ill be there even if I dont jump, but I really want to.
  9. I totally agree with this! There are so many people I see that are trying to learn and they make their jump, debrief and leave. Just like any sport, the more you are involved, the more you will learn. Besides, hanging out with the jump crowd can be really fun! As well as educational.
  10. I wish I knew you were lookin for a bike... Im trying to sell my 2001 CBR 929 RR Erion Racing edition. 6000 miles and as perfect as they come!
  11. Some people take their pet fetishes to the extreme!
  12. Welcome! The first few jumps feel like there is soooo much to remember. Listen to your instructors and remember to have fun with it (but seriously listen to them). After all, isnt the fun factor why we do this? One of my rookie mistakes (and Im still pretty much a rookie) was to WAY overshoot my landing and do a nasty PLF on the runway! Thank god I jump at a small drop zone with a private air strip and there was no other air traffic! I looked like I had been in a motorcycle crash with road rash all down my right side. Good luck with your staric line training! Let us know how it goes. Blue skys!!!
  13. Thanks for all the welcomes! I did see something about the animated pics, but I guess I didnt understand it. Its changed now.
  14. Why do people think its funny to fart in the jump plane?
  15. Two things come to mind here... First you mention the munchies... makes me wonder what came first, the smell or the munchies. LOL Second I have this horrible vision of the workers in there trying to satisfy their own munchies by putting a chicken on a rotesseri thingy in the crematorium. EEEWWWWW!!!!!!
  16. good luck thats all i can say, it sounds good but it would be close to impossible thanks to newton and his law. Impossible or not... think how much fun it would be to try!
  17. The car is WAY over rated and so many people make such a big deal out of it... The jump plane is soooo much beter... as long as you dont distract the pilot!
  18. Hello all!!! About 5 years ago I did my first tandem and was instantly hooked! I started lessons and in a couple of months got my "A" license. I jumped several times and was having the time of my life. Then for work, money and personal reasons I had to take a couple of years off. I missed our sport dearly. Recently Ive been able to get back on track and now Im jumping several times a week! WOO HOO!!! A few days ago I finally passed everything for my "B" license and now Im focused on my "C" because enough is never enough... Right? So far Ive meet lots of great people and hope to meet more on here. Hope to see some of you soon out at the drop zone! Blue Skys!!!
