  7. I don't think it is anything like that, but I have seen people that react that way. I think it's a personal experience that can't be predicted how someone will react, like combat. Good training helps. "Damn you Gravity, you win again"
  8. Yeah, Nick is trying to build a strong skydiving club at Auburn; yet AuburnSkydiving.com and SkydiveAuburn.com are both skyride domains. The club has a partnership with Skydive Opelika and is only 10 minutes away. These websites redirect the students to ASC which is 2 hours away and much more expensive. No dropzone in Alabama accepts SR gift certificates, yet the site makes plenty of references to Skydive Auburn instructors and skydiving in Alabama. "Damn you Gravity, you win again"

Correct. 64 characters is a bit overkill, but randomly generated is important. WPA can be broken and the strength of the key is an important part. My point about masking SSID is that it is akin to throwing a sheet over your bicycle... and using MAC filters is like taking off the front wheel and laying it next to the bike. Both are minor issues when you have the option of putting the whole bike in steel box with a large lock. "Damn you Gravity, you win again"

http://synjunkie.blogspot.com/2007/12/bypass-hidden-ssid-mac-address-filter.html You can do whatever you think will make you safer... but I'm telling you without using a strong encryption (i.e. WPA or WPA2), I can access your network. edit to add: And gain access in a ridiculously short amount of time. (under a minute without any encryption, add a minute for WEP encryption) Also I already knew how to accomplish this, but did a simple google search and that was the first result. showing how easy it is for anyone to learn. mac filtering and not broadcasting the ssid also do very little for security. Mac filtering is easily circumvented and any decent wifi scanner will detect access points that are not broadcasting their ssid. That being said almost anything you do will keep your average neighbor of your network, but WPA2 is so simple to implement and highly effective that it doesn't make sense not to use it. Using WEP for wireless security is a joke. It can be broken in under a couple minutes. WPA or WPA2 is available on most wireless devices and is infinitely better choice. "Damn you Gravity, you win again"
  13. Yup, hardware in a mac is the same hardware available in PCs... just costs twice as much :P "Damn you Gravity, you win again"

  15. Bought a mid range model, had it for a week and returned it. Absolutely hated it. Spent the same amount on a traditional mattress and haven't regretted it almost 3 years later. "Damn you Gravity, you win again"
  16. I am missing your point? If you mean that Microsoft has released a fix for the issue, I'm not disagreeing. My point was that they should not be held responsible for patching decade old software. Whether they do or don't is their choice "Damn you Gravity, you win again"
  17. Well after reviewing the material. I think about 3 of them are more than moderately attractive. A few are ugly, and the rest are average. "Damn you Gravity, you win again"
  18. I've been in Montgomery, AL for a year now and it does suck :P I really do try to make the best of wherever I live and I think this place sucks. Other parts of Alabama aren't so bad though. "Damn you Gravity, you win again"

My favorite diagnosis... I do have one complaint on Win7 so far... it refused to recognize my NVidia Nforce 2 chipset on my motherboard... that is only 4 years old. After messing with it for hours... it magically started working. Oh that and the damn windows boot loader always writes over GRUB, so I have to fix that too. (But I'll wait for Ubuntu 9.10 to release in a few days before worrying about it.) "Damn you Gravity, you win again"
  20. ?? Believe me, I am usually not the one defending Microsoft, but you are off base here. Win2k is 4 months shy of being a decade old... I don't think they should be held responsible for patching software that has had 5 versions released since. "Damn you Gravity, you win again"
  21. Is it using KDE then (I actually prefer GNOME)? Kbuntu has this also and adding the correct repositories adds in all the needed codecs, but I see where you're going. "Damn you Gravity, you win again"
  22. Temperature affects the discharge rate of batteries, That being said alkaline batteries hold their charge fairly well at room temp, (but discharge much faster as the temp increases) Rechargeable batteries benefit much more from the colder temps. "Damn you Gravity, you win again"

  25. I am well aware that most of the stuff I put in the fridge doesn't have to be in there... even then I don't use things quick enough and have to throw stuff out all the time because I can't buy smaller packages. (Not because the date on the package says so either, but because it smells rancid or tastes off) I also have no issue with eating something thats sat out for a few days as long as it cooked... I have a friend that refuses to eat anything if it has been out of the fridge for more than a few hours. I'll recook yesterdays dinner for todays lunch after its been out all night without even thinking about it. "Damn you Gravity, you win again"
