    LOL...........my G/F forgot hers, we were outside waiting for the cessna to taxi over and I gave her a gear check.......it wasnt on.......I read her the riot act.....heheh, in a semi joking way though *(dont wanna get cut off ya know) If a person forgets .........it aint worth havin Roy They say I suffer from insanity....     Show up for the dirt dive on time, with gear. Dont have a soda, cigarrette, pipe etc....empty hands, open ears. Be honest with your abilities, dont bite off more than you can chew. Dont fly under the formation if you go low...... If your diving, dont pass the jumpers ahead of you. Respect the red zone..... Keep your head on a swivel. At break off track like hell and pull at your assigned altitude. Fly conservitively under canopy. Land safely.....even if it means landing out and walking. Theres more, but its late and my brain is mush...... Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

    There was a jump several years ago in the north or south pole?... Everyone was hypoxic and lost altitude awareness and had no ground reference, if my memory serves only one lived due to his cypress firing, I cannot remember all the details, maybe someone else here can.     --->These are just my observations. They are very accurate observations!! One thing no one has brought up is what mindset are you in when your preparing to hook? If your attention is focused primarily on how much your going to impress everyone then your probably not paying 100% of your attention to 'altitude/traffic/carve/entry/and exit points...... Performance landings require focus to successfully do them again and again without injury or death. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

    If you only flip to your back or a sit for a few seconds then any container should be fine, make sure that if you have velcro anywhere that it is in good shape.. I have used (years ago) leg mounted pc's.... Hell.........I used them for freeflying......(didnt know any better) Rule #1..........velcro in good shape..     When I had my sony digital 8 and the cameye, I had this same problem. With mine the wires had been kinked and it would turn on to standbye just fine, but occasionally would not go to record, borrow a camey and see if the problem goes away.     I have well over 500 tandem video's with a top mount and have just started using a side mount pc-5 I cannot believe it took me this long to change, dont get me wrong the top mount works great, but the side mount puts you online with what your eyes are seeing, the only drawback is when I am really in close, I have to look about 20 degrees to the right to keep them centered in frame, but the climbout is easyer in small planes with the side mount. Riser strikes are the only drawback that I can see with a side mount, if you remember to look to the right upon deployment then this isnt a problem though. for me Freeflying is much easyer with a side mount, Its like its not even there, the top mount always seemed to fly me.......     It should take a moderate amount of work to close the container and put the pin in place. moderate however is different to each person depending on strength....if you can close it easily, it is too loose. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

    with the right 270 you fly mostly with the traffic, Closing speeds are not as extreme as head to head.... if you go against the left hand pattern at most dz's you will get a talkin to from the S&TA, owner, or the other jumpers who see you approaching head on (They dont seem to apreciate this at 600') been there, got the talkin to........     when your sitting in the plane, you have a lot of time to glance around at the others gear......look for stuff like this.........last saturday at skydive oregon sitting in the otter I was glancing around at everyones chest strap and handles that I could see, one of the other jumpers was amazed that I was doing this......... .......Ahem........of course I had to check the hot skychicks chest - strap a couple of times Roy They say I suffer from insanity....
