  1. Keep in mind that jumping from 1k was probably not done with modern skydiving gear.. 2.5K is low enough for me..
  2. NOICE! Slightly sick, but NICE!
  3. 3000ft is comfortable for me... high enough to do a nice exit.. 2500 is minimum exit-altitude here, and suits me fine.
  4. At our office we get a lot of calls from telemarketeers, a while ago we decided to try to ask a lot of questions before the telemarketeer could ask them himself.. as a result we were called back a few times in the next hours with nothing but namecalling.. they are such bad losers! edited: can't type...

    Weekend Numbers

: 6 : 0 This weekend wasn't anything special.. made 6 jumps from 3000ft just for fun.. I noticed that making a few low jumps has gotten me more comfortable exiting at lower altitudes.. Good thing!
  9. our DZ doesn't even have lockers.. we all expect to find our personal belongings at the end of the day just where we left it: anywhere at the hangar.. It's a system of trust, and so far so good..
  10. Thanks for the replies, but my question remains.. are there any dropzones where placing an FXC on the main and another AAD on the reserve is considered normal? When doing AFF it's probably not a good idea, but there are a lot of smaller DZ's that don't offer AFF.
  11. IIRC the FXC can be set to fire at 'any' height? So I imagine the FXC can be set at 2000' (meaning it's range is 1500-2500), that way it wouldn't interfere with the cypres range. Blue Skies!
  12. Hey all, I've been reading some APF-newssheets. There is a note about a student with an FXC fitted to the main canopy and a student cypres on the reserve. I've personally never heard/thought of this combination before, but it sounds somewhat logical. Question is: is this setup often used for student rigs? Just wondering..
  13. Only the older models are not ff-friendly, I think. Basically because 'back then' no-one planned to be in a not-RW position for more than a few seconds.
  14. At our DZ, all SL students are hooked up while entering the plane, makes more sense I think. What's the reason to hook up only one student?
  15. :6:1 Only jumped on sunday.. it was a GREAT day :) *sigh* working sucks..
  16. Good advice! Taking LOTS of LONG breaks from work helps even better though
  17. Two.. 265 jumps total First reserve was was third jump, second reserve-ride at jump 25. On a brighter side: no reserve-rides on my own gear.

    Weekend Numbers

:5:0 Jup.. had a nice weekend.. weather wasn't real good, so did a few low-ish jumps.. Mondays.. I hate mondays.. there ought to be a law against mondays..
  23. I just registered... a lot of familiar names there :) Don't know for sure if I understand the game properly.. I challenged some peeps, but none of them are responding (status pending).. what's up with that? ..... not that I'm that anxious to lose my "fights lost: 0" status.. :)
