  2. QuoteKeep your gear in good condition and leave as little bridal exposed as possible. I have a 95 Dolphin and I get a lot of looks when people see it and my Free Fly suit together.Quote if you have any bridle line exposed to the air on your dolphin ask a rigger about putting some velcro on it where it comes out of your main container to the BOC pouch. propack

the best way to learn to pack is to watch several different people. everyone packs just a little bit different than everyone else. after you do that you can take a little bit from each person and then you have your own packing style. 12. yes i know the marks are an estimated length , but his canopy could have been miss marked ! for example : his 150 sabre2 could have been marked for the lenght of a 120 sabre2. alot of people that make canopies , dont skydive , are not riggers, and probably dont know what that mark is for. 13. FF time: 53 seconds did you record that jump in your logbook as 53 sec. of freefall ? "Trust your Rigger with your Life , but not your Beer or your Wife !"
  14. should have taken pictures of it and sent them in to the manufacture , could be some good advertisement for them and maybe a few bucks for you , or at least a free t-shirt ! "Trust your Rigger with your Life , but not your Beer or your Wife !"
  15. the best thing to do is contact the manufacture and ask them what the lenght of the brake lines is supposed to be . it could be that your canopy was miss marked and the inspector didnt catch it. "Trust your Rigger with your Life , but not your Beer or your Wife !"
  16. *** but disconnecting the reserve can be a good idea too(which of course requires a master rigger). #1 : you do not have to be a master rigger to disconnect a reserve. #2 : disassemble the entire rig , wash the harness with soap and water , hang up to dry , reassemble it. any rigger can do it. NEW DZ ?

I heard that there might be a new DZ opening up somewhere on the Virginia / North Carolina border somewhere ? does anyone have any info on this ?
  18. it is really up to you which reserve you want to buy. sounds like you are making a wise decision in getting a larger reserve. i have packed alot of tempos and also own one myself. they pack up real nice, material is easy to work with. just because tempos are cheaper than a raven , doesnt mean they are an inferior canopy, they are all tested under the same standard guidelines. save your money and go with the tempo. more expensive doesnt mean better quality.
  19. put some jumps on your hornet and try it out. each canopy is a little different ,the only way to find out how it opens is to jump it ! the key to a good opening is the slider , pull it out in front , pull it way out there. mine opens great , no problems so far.
  20. Hey Michele, tomorrow is my birthday too ! 34 , Damn i feel old !
  21. might want to carpool with someone to the DZ sometime !
  22. let me rephrase that ! are there any skydivers living in Roanoke ? hey , thanks for the website , lots of info there!

    I'm in love

I love my new canopy!! My brand new Sabre2 arrived last Friday and i finally got to jump it today!! It is so much nicer than my stiletto. I only got a chance to jump once. My baby opened up in line twists, but i easily cleared them and had a blast under canopy!! Just wanted to share my happiness. __________________________________________ if you had doubts about jumping that "spinletto" you will really love jumping your sabre2.
  24. >What's a REEFING system??? Keeps your canopy from opening too quickly. Modern parachutes generally use a slider, but older parachutes used more complex systems - rings and ropes, or pilot chute controlled reefing. Some ejection seat systems actually use cutters to release the skirt, I believe. (yikes) -bill von _______________________________________________ yes Bill its called ACES 2 ejection seat, uses a reefing line to slow the opening of a C-9 round canopy. cutters are attached to the canopy and they cut the reefing line so that the canopy can fully inflate.
